As believers, the Holy Spirit will never lead us to sin, if we sin, it’s because we followed the flesh and not the Spirit. God will ALWAYS tell us not to sin.

"Quit sinning, quick cleansing; come to that fount filled from Emmanuel's veins, where sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains"
John was not writing to gnostics, but to those whom God had called to become Christians, but who were not yet. But one of the gnostic heresies was apparently that they had never sinned. By the end of this church circular letter, some at least of those in the house churches would have been filled with the Spirit and cease forever from further sinning, as the last three chapters of I Jn. show.
1st John 3:6 says, "No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him." Sounds like we should cease sinning. At least, we need to NOT plan to sin.
@@PurposeOfTheAges Do you know there is a difference between "all have sinned" before being saved and the ability NOT TO SIN after being given salvation? I don't get this idea that the Holy Spirit is incapable of overcoming sin in mankind. Is He that weak that sin manages to win over His strength? That's how we see it. We give sin an alibi because we're human. 1 John 2:1 IF we sin, not when. This is why we need Him. To give us strength to overcome sin, the flesh, and the old man. We can't do it alone.
@@PurposeOfTheAges I'd like you to reread my response. I will ask this question: If you have the Holy Spirit, do you have the ability to overcome sin and sin no more from when you're saved til your death?
'What is fatal is not that he has sinned, but he does not have the will to pick himself up'. God and sins do not mix. Pray and repent and have faith in His mercy.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
On the Eccl. verse you mentioned, this principle of no one on earth being exempt from sinning applies only to those of the first Adam who was earthly. Christians are not of the earth, but are born from above, and do not commit one sin after conversion.
Undoubtedly, they were all guilty of looking on a woman to lust after her. “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:28
Hey brother, do you have any insight on what Jesus was writing in the ground when he was addressing the pharisees in John 8? This has always fascinated me. Thank you for your teachings, they have really helped me in understanding context.
I can only conjecture, but I think it's plausible that he wrote the law on the ground which exposed their hypocrisy. "If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall BOTH OF THEM die, BOTH THE MAN that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel." Deuteronomy 22:22 Again, this is merely a conjecture.
@@OnoDiamante that’s definitely a great point. I kind of always imagined something similar, like he was exposing them individually by writing their names in the sand. Good content, my friend. Thanks again.
I once heard that since it was a mock trial, and Jesus said he was not the judge, but he took on a different role. He was the scribe writing the names of the accusers. BibleSociety' St Jerome thought he was writing a list of the woman's accusers, with a reference to Jeremiah 17.13, '...all who abandon you will be put to shame. They will disappear like names written in the dust...'
Of course, we know that Jesus wouldn't tell anyone to go sin more because He is perfect. But if you do sin, like you pointed out, you will get consequences in this temporary residence on Earth. The inward man is born again and saved for eternal life. Outward man is flesh and will sin. Until flesh is dead as we know wages of sin is death.
@Onorato Diamante Brother, would you agree with my interpretation of John 8:1-11?? I am a Free Grace believer and this is what I came up with. In reference to John 8:1-11, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were being hypocritical, self-righteous, and PARTIAL when they only brought in the woman caught in the act of adultery. They did not bring in the man whom she was having sex with. The man who was sleeping with her was also in violation of Leviticus 20:10 and just as GUILTY. Their main intent was trying to trap Jesus and they didn't care about the woman. The issue with the woman caught in adultery by the Pharisees was not the salvation of her soul, but the issue was the preservation of her PHYSICAL LIFE SPAN here on earth. LEVITICUS 20:10 - And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, THE ADULTERER AND ADULTERESS SHALL SURELY BE PUT TO DEATH. Jesus points out the fact that both the Pharisees and teachers of the law had no right in stoning the woman to death because they were just as sinful as she was in their thoughts, words, and deeds for they were just as human as she was. John 8:1-11 is not a salvation passage, period. Jesus was merciful to the woman and simply told her to "go and sin no more" meaning that she should stop her lifestyle of adultery because next time when she gets caught, she will be subject to CAPITAL PUNISHMENT by stoning. The issue is CAPITAL PUNISHMENT, not salvation. Many false teachers that are works based will twist and eisegete John 8:1-11 to mean "repent of your sins" and "go and sin no more" as a requirement for salvation. The Pharisees and the Teachers of the Law thought that they had Jesus trapped by trying to imply that if Jesus did not condemn the woman by stoning, then He would be in violation of Leviticus 20:10. However, Jesus could see the Pharisee's and teachers of the law's HYPOCRISY and SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS in only bringing in the woman, but NOT THE MAN. Jesus stooped down twice on the ground and wrote with His finger which is indirectly referring to Moses who received the tablets of stone written with God's own finger on Mt. Sinai -Exodus 31:8. Moses had a fit of anger and broke the tablets and God again wrote them with His finger - Exodus 32:19, 34:1. Jesus said in John 8:7 that anyone among the scribes and Pharisees that are without sin should stone the woman. What Jesus said CONVICTED the scribes and Pharisees in John 8:9 KJV in their hearts because they knew that they themselves were just as guilty as the woman caught in adultery because they knew that they themselves were sinners in other ways, so each one began to leave and did not condemn the woman. Sin is sin no matter what it is in God's sight. The scribes and Pharisees were just as guilty of adultery because they can commit adultery covertly in their minds and hearts because it didn't have to be the overt act - Matthew 5:28. John 8:9 KJV - And they which heard it, BEING CONVICTED BY THEIR OWN CONSCIENCE, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. The point is that Jesus who is God was the one who gave Moses the Law in the first place on the STONE TABLETS. The scribes and Pharisees did not condemn her and neither did Jesus even though the woman deserved to die. The woman experienced the GRACE OF GOD. Jesus gave her a 2nd chance after experiencing His grace. He told her "Go and sin no more" or next time she may get EXECUTED BY STONING. The rest of the text of John 8 does not indicate if this woman came to faith in Jesus and it does not indicate whether she left or stayed around to further hear Jesus's teachings. Please let me know, God bless!
Galatians 5:19-21 [19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. [24] And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Keep in mind that in the above verse Paul is writing to the Galatians. Christians that is, living in Galatia . He was telling Christians to not be deceived into thinking that that behavior is acceptable. [9] As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. [10] IF ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. [11] These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. [12] This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. [13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. [14] Ye are my friends, IF ye do whatsoever I command you. Eph.5 [1] Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; [2] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. [3] But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; [4] Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. [5] For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [6] LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU WITH VAIN WORDS: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. [7] Be not ye therefore partakers with them. [8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT: [9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. [12] For it is a shame EVEN TO SPEAK of those things which are done of them in secret. [13] But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. [14] Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. [15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. [17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 1 John 2:24-29 [24] Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. IF that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. [25] And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. [26] These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. [27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. [28] And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. [29] If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that DOETH righteousness is born of him. Luke 13:23-24 [23] Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, [24] STRIVE to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. No one has to work or strive to become saved. Once we are saved we strive to stay on the path that takes us through that narrow gate. STRIVE - Greek: ἀγωνίζομαι Transliteration: agōnizomai Pronunciation: ag-o-nid'-zom-ahee Definition: From G73; to struggle literally (to compete for a prize) figuratively (to contend with an adversary) or generally (to endeavor to accomplish something): - fight, labor, fervently strive. Revelation 22:12-15 [12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. [13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. [14] Blessed are they that DO his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. [15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 1 JOHN 3 [3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. [4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. [5] And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. [6] Whosoever abideth in him SINNETH NOT: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, NEITHER KNOWN HIM. (See Matthew 7) [7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOETH righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. [8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. [9] Whosoever is born of God DOTH NOT COMMIT SIN ; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. [10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever DOETH NOT righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. There is a difference between Someone who sins and then cries out to the Lord for forgiveness and someone who practices sin, a.k.a. lawlessness. When John says that it means not having a battle within you or feeling convicted about that sin. Paul mentioned several times that there was a battle within him and it was his flesh against his spirit. He never just “accepted” the idea that there was no need to refrain from sin. That’s why Jesus says in Matthew 7 that those who do the will of God will be in heaven. Those who do not practice lawlessness. Here’s the verse: it’s pretty clear. Matthew 7:21-23 [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. They did all those things and they even did them in the name of Jesus. But yet he says I never knew you. Just like John says when someone works iniquity, that is to practice lawlessness with no repentance or conviction about it, they’ve never known Jesus. So the sign of a true Christian ultimately is one who actually has a battle with sin. We are to purify ourselves and crucify the flesh as we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Sin is important as it ever was but now it is looked at for what it is. And lastly if sin were no big deal then Christianity would have never come about because there would’ve been no need to even have a savior named Jesus Christ. If sin is unimportant to him and it’s OK to continue on then what does salvation from sin even mean in the first place?
There are plenty of verses like this. So are you saying that a born-again Christian can continue on in sin with no conviction and still keep his garments clean? He can murder? Commit adultery with another man’s wife? Where is the point that it’s too much? And if a Christian is to be showing fruits of the spirit where do they fit in? If you’re saying that I am wresting scripture, I put up six or seven of them. I’m listening if you can explain each one. I understand that nobody works for salvation. I understand that it is a free gift of God. For example striving is what I’m talking about. Jesus himself said strive to enter in at that narrow gate. Why would we have to strive? And what does that mean? It means refraining from sin. You read that I see the difference between thinking you can work for your salvation and refraining from sin. John says it clearly that those who are born of God cannot commit sin. He means practice lawlessness. I understand that people do wrest scripture out of place. And I understand that Christians can be debate about certain things. But I am open if you want to address each one of those things. Not to just debate.

When Jesus came he was not inspired to save our flesh, he knew our bones might break, that we may be tortured by the way we live. Jesus called us to be sinless, to be like him and in this way we must follow his commandment. He sat at the table of sinners, he spread his gospel to them in hopes that they would turn away from their past lives in order to reflect who he is. when we see the fruits of others, if they are of the Lord it is very clear for they forgive just as Jesus did. they control their mouths just as Jesus did. they have humility just as Jesus did. These fruits are not possible if you're still living in sin. sin eats at the body and the spirit until we give in, where would we be if we continuously gave into that sin and disregarded Christs commandment? though he never gave into it. it is true that Jesus saves purely through his blood but we must also take heed to having a pure heart, like Jesus' “If you love Me, keep My commandments … He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:15-24. Hope this message may clear up some confusion, may God bless you and keep you safe.
Jesus said “if you die if you’re sins whither I go you cannot come.” Jesus came to save us from our sins, not in them. He would have for all us to go and sin no more. There’s no one sin that we have to do and it took one sin for Adam and Eve to get kicked out of the garden what makes us any different.
What makes us different is that we have already died to sin and are alive because of Christ's work on the cross which was not available to Adam. We have been made partakers of the divine nature, have already been translated into God's kingdom, and àre spirit.
Jesus said to cut off your hand if it offends you into pluck out your eye rather than go to hell. So This warning does not apply to Christians..? Oh and there are many many more warnings throughout scripture.
Jesus was being sarcastic. Sin begins in the mind, the brain. So you would need to pluck your brain out not to sin. It isn't your hand that sins, it's your brain that tells your hand to sin. Jesus was saying "see you cannot stop sinning, so believe on me for salvation". Read the whole thing.

@OnoDiamante The holy spirit enters a clean vessel. Hearing Jesus and accepting the word as the way makes you clean, then the holy spirit convicts you to help keep you clean. If you continue sinning when you know it's wrong, then you are not listening to the holy spirit and not filled by it. I just can't see it the way you are explaining it.

Such confusion this guy is teaching. What does Hebrew 10:26 say? Or just read Hebrew Ch.6 In 1Jn. When you quote, you need to understand who John was writing to.
