I'm looking to order a small crossbody and I really can't decide between saddle, mocha, or black. I am thinking more of mocha, but it is so hard to decide. These bags are not cheap. Do you have any insight into these color leathers in regards to look, feel, squishyness, etc. Thank you! Angie
Hi Angie! They are definitely an investment, but the quality is truly amazing. I have never owned any other color besides Saddle, and even their batches of Saddle all slightly vary. I would call them semi structured, but very thick and supple leather! They break in easily and start that lovely patina process! 🥰
I’m surprised you sold your delux because it seemed you loved the tassel you added and the darker straps and zipper. I love the contrasting straps and was looking to buy one or trade my medium Avery.
It’s so funny because I was just looking at pics of my OG Avery deluxe and thinking about how pretty it was. 😄 I just didn’t use the zipper a lot. So I went for a regular medium Avery and realized that I missed having the hemmed edging at the top. So I sold that one, and got the one I have now. It’s a medium with the rolled top edging and it suits me perfectly. 🥰
How does this leather compares to Portland leather goods? I have not try any of them but do have a Parker Clay drawstring tote that I like and was thinking about trying another brand and see what I like more... love your videos 💞
This leather isn’t similar to PLG, IMO. It’s a lot thicker. Both are full grain leather but GFG’s leather is noticeably thicker/heavier. Both are great brands. GFG seems to be a higher quality but it’s also a higher price. Hope that helps! 🥰
Love this bag. Which is heavier to carry - GFG, PLG or your KMM ? Which one is your favorite and why? Trying to decide and wanted your opinion. Thank you
I don’t have the KMM bag but do have the other two in medium. The GFG bag is the classic without the zipper and it is still the heavier bag between the two for me. I hated to but cut out one of the pockets in the GFG tote to make it lighter so I would actually use it. I’d love to know what LeatherHappy thinks though too! And if one has noticeably better quality leather.
It’s a great bag, but it is the heaviest of the three you mentioned. It’s not a lot heavier but a little. My favorite of these three is KMM’s kodiak tote. That bag is everything I love about leather. It’s floppy but structured enough to stand. It has the best pull up of all three, and the leather is just amazing, inside and out! Now I’m not saying the other two don’t have great leather too, because they do but KMM has my ❤️. Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope this helps a little! I just ordered my first avery tote! 🙆 I originally went with the large until I watched this video, after which I called and switched to the medium. I did the original tote with snaps, no zipper and added a front pocket and 11.5" strap drop... Also, ordered it in the limited rustic Grey color and a black top zip pouch, plus the black tassel! I literally cannot wait!!! I do usually like large bags but, since I'm not using it for a laptop or work bag, I figured that this one would be large enough for my daily needs, since it appears more on a "larger medium size" .... I hope I made the right decision in the medium size! Do you still find it roomy enough for your daily essentials or do you wish you had gone with the large?..... Great review! Thanks, Lisa😀
I’m excited for you! Sounds like you gave it a lot of thought, and I think you’ll be happy with what you chose. The medium is definitely room enough. For Thanksgiving travels, I added my large iPad with a bulky otter box case and still had plenty of space. These bags are meant to be loaded down. They are so sturdy! Enjoy your new bag! 🥰

Awesome! You will love it. I love both companies. PLG is great for variety and affordability. GFG is great for extremely high quality, durable leather. You’ll see what I mean. 😉🥰
Great video! I just ordered the medium Avery in caramel with no zipper, I am currently carrying the Fossil Sydney satchel, do you think all my things from the Sydney will fit in the medium Avery?
So exciting! Waiting for a new bag to arrive is the hardest part. I think you will love the Avery! I believe the caramel is more structured but it’s gorgeous. 🤤 It’s a nice sized bag, plenty of room. The Sydney is very roomy for a satchel, but I think the Avery tote will definitely fit all your essentials. 🥰

I have this deluxe medium zip tote in the mocha color and I have the regular medium tote in the saddle color. Both bags have straps that match the leather. I like your saddle color with the mocha straps. I’m guessing you had to phone them since I don’t think they have a place on the website to request customization like that? Your bag is gorgeous.. I absolutely love Go Forth Goods bags.
