Around the 6 minute mark, crafting skill is mentioned as a skill that can be leveled. Just remember that crafting skill doesn't affect what you can make in your inventory. It only affects what can be made off of blueprints.

im super noob but i always build a table to put my mortar and pestle and campfire on inside my house because its just easier to keep it higher in my eyeline

i decide to spend all my points on speed and weight. Something can’t kill you if they can’t catch you. It also comes with the benifit of joking with that super sonic speed.

to be a pro do an explorer note run as soon as you spawn in. starting the game at level 80 makes the game 1000% easier

Hey man I saw you subscribed to my channel a few weeks back - you caught my attention because at the time you had a few thousand subs (you typically don't see that too often). Let me just say, you're absolutely crushing it with your growth! Keep up the great work and this was an awesome idea for an informative series.

If you play PvP his first 3 steps are perfect! Get tools. Get food. For the base go straight to building a stone base! It will take some time but it is “safe”. Do not build anything bigger than a 2x2! Hide your base in the forest and do not break any natural cover (rocks, and trees) around you. Do not build to close to main resource spots! For your first tames: Get a pteranodon first! If you see Dilos near by get a few of them. They are basically distractions if you get attacked by bigger dinosaurs. Do not punch everything you see!!! I did that on my first PvP game. Tame a trike for berries and “decent” protection. If you see a dinosaur with a red cloud around it do not get to close to it! Just run away! Do not talk in global chat! It will give away that you are in that server! You want to stay unknown. Alpha/mega tribes usually write down the names of every player/base they find. My “Mega” tribe that I was in for awhile would write down everything and share it in a discord chat. Try to get metal ASAP! Do not build a metal base though, build 2 turrets, a generator, and the wires. After that build a metal base. In my mega tribe their were 10 of use in our server and we would have a full metal base and turrets up in literally 1 hour. Depending on how big we build. Only build big if you are 100% sure you can protect it. So never build big. Literally no base on Ark is unraidable. My tribe split up after our Alpha base got insided and torn to pieces. When I work diligently I can have a full metal base and turrets built in one day. If I can do it so can everyone else. Try to get species X plant from the swamp. It is very common on the island server. Takes like 2 minutes to grab it and run.

Southeast of the frozen tooth (mountain in the island) you will find a really nice place to build a base which I like to call mini mountains. You have access to metal nodes nearby, and if you need more you can go to far's peak or the frozen tooth for materials. Personally I think it's the best spot to build a base.

This is how you should start up for the more experienced/players who understand the games mechanics, 1. Go to island and do a note run and lvl up with cooking pots 2. Transfer over to ragnorok and tame a Equus 3. Set up a stone shack in the redwoods near highlands E 4. Start to cook up metal and narcotics 5. Tame a purlovia Second order of operations 1. Transfer over to crystal isles to tame a few crystal wyverns 2. Go to genesis and grind the missions wave ray & dodo basketball (get a decent megatherium saddle while doing wave ray) 3. Claim a hidden & hard to raid base spot 4. Tame a megatherium (at least lv50) 5. Get scuba & run swamp cave Third order of operations 1. Either go to extinction or lunar bio genesis to grind electronics 2. Craft heavies 3. Tame a velo and run lava golum 4. Start to breed soakers and rhinos 5. Do boss fights [Tips] Go to charcoal trees to get charcoal Wave ray mission gives good megatherium saddle Go to lunar bio and farm tek dinos Go to val (beach 2) or genesis ocean bio to farm silica pearls Tame a basilo to get cni toxin Tame a angler to get silica Tame velo and do rag lava Gollum for loot Go to volcano (Crystal) hit trees for charcoal To lvl up fast craft cooking pots Snow E for manas and snow owls

When I can't play ARK, I get good at it. Or in other words, watch a bunch of guides and I get good at it because I know more.

The Funniest moment when I was a "bob" still and was still afraid of the ocean, is when another friend introduced me to ark straight from 2years of Conan path of Exiles and I had survived 3 nights before my friend could meet me and when he found me he was shocked because I had a tamed lvl 55 carno, 6 raptors and 1 trike without a gun ( I stood on a large rock grunting and yelling like a traditional caveman as these things tried to kill me but had gotten knocked out by my slingshot or club because I used bolas for raptors)Also put my points in health stamina and Carry weight with melee being a focus afterwards because the more hits you can take the more hp/time you have to knock what evers trying to eat you senseless.

I've looked and tips and tricks and guides but nothing says how you can place a sleeping back to see where you are if you're lost I don't know how many people know about this but it's good

Ive had ark for about 3 weeks now and i have about 150 hours on it. I still am a beach bob (obviously) however ive found out a great way to get better in ark singleplayer. Creative mode

Dude I played this game once and these people kept locking me in a cage and knocking me out and I had no idea what to do

If you follow this standard process on official then you'l lose everything all the time, even if you're the alpha arguably whether logged in or not, i spent 2 years basically grinding for other people. Worked out exactly how to build, what to build and where to make sure tames weren't stolen and shit wasnt blown up each time.

Hi pterafier ive built a stone glass house and an entire tribe entered my giant walls via colored argies and i didn't know what to do they were throwing a party in my house they just used up my house but didn't destroy it they were just throwing a party they left me a ton of items i dunno what to do with it

I absolutely love ur channel and ark but not a lot of people play it ( and I think they should as it’s a great game) and that’s why u only have about 60k subs and I’m not saying that’s bad I’m just saying it cause ur such an underrated RU-vid playing such an underrated game so what I’m saying is if you do tips and tricks on way more popular games such as GTA V or minecraft or even both, then I reckon you’ll get way more subs but u can obviously still do ark, just what I think, thx

For a noob on an Official PvP Server your beach base will be raided in a day or two even if its made of stone. Even if you hide it off the beach in the woods they'll find it, blow the door off, smash everything and take your stuff. Your stuff might last a bit longer if you hide it in a box somewhere in the woods or in one of your base foundations. If you hide the box in shallow water people will find it. If you hide it in deep water under some seaweed it might last a few days until a shark destroys it. Number 1 tip that will help you progress beyond being a Beach Bob: Don't play on an Official PvP Server.

A lil pro tip, the top noob killers are bugs, raptors, dilos and troodons, you'll learn to identify them fast so don't worry bout dat, just avoid em like the plague And when you are better at the game, consider having an alt account or a friend with all crafting, since this will make blueprints much better to use

God there's so many insecure power hungry kids in this game

When I first started ark I was honestly not that bad but, now I can get tek within the first week on official so I have no clue why I’m watching this but I am 😂

crafting skill is actually very important, it makes you craft faster and it could help you craft something fast is you need to, it also allows for better weapons and armor crafted from blueprint, i can understand waiting ntill later in the gme to put point into crafting skill, but I always put pont into it, atleast 5-10 points

The issue I and other retired NOOB's to video games are having is the fact that we are old and having to learn muscle memory in regards to the KB+M or a controller, in addition to the LONG learning curve of the game requires one to first learn the settings. I've played a number of games now, and find the settings in ARK to be the most confusing. If one can't set them in such a way to live long enough to grind when grinding isn't an issue for retired person (we have a lot of time). I've watched a number of video's which state are for beginner's to set the settings, yet still can't manage to live long enough. I've taken what was supposedly the easiest setting for beginner's as one poster stated who had a few thousand hours invested in ARK. Didn't work, increased all the settings he suggested, didn't work, decresed all the setting's he suggested didn't work. Apparently increasing one or decreasing it, effect's other's. Which means, if a setting for a noob default is a 1.0 increasing it causes one thing decrease it causes another and they are not consitant with another. Somewhere, there's got to be settings, that onesome one who is lets say, video game challanged to utilize. Experience player's posting video's on how to adjust settings. All have their own way of phrasing what various increasing and decreasing settings do or don't do. Wish there was a consant. I and others realize that if and when one who makes the adjustments simular to a GOD mode but maybe only at ten percent for instance, can, could and would readjust them as we learn how to actually survive long enough to do the grind one needs to do.

In my opinion, the MOST important thing to do when starting is a note run, but all I do is pvp, so that may sway my opinion a little bit.

I learned that if you make something make 2 one for your inventory and one for storage so when you die it’s easier to restart or to get your loot back

I love crafting skill, you get faster crafting, and things like bows, cross bows, and guns do extra damage per level

If u want a a weapon in fresh start I recommend a bow

I like the vid, id have just added a spot for bolas and how early game once you get a little hide, it will fuel your hide needs. I always go for a few bolas and take down Medium dinos.

By ascending on every map and getting to the maximum level you should have enough engram points to learn everything, I did at least

To the level up stat screen, personally I sink points in stamina and health. Have to out run dinos at least a few times don't want to get tired at an inopportune moment.

Idk why i have played ark for like maybe 750-1k hours and i still haven’t beat the bosses I just like taming stuff

when i got the game I was trying to drop the raw meat on top of the campfire and just put a torch on it lol

in my mind, if you have less food requirement then you need to spend less resources, i never really bother to upgrade the melee damage and i focus of weight and movement speed

With the gen 2 install you can buy every engram

What you actually need to do is spawn west 2 on island, do a 15 mins note run to get to lvl 70 then transfer to valguero tame a ptera and get it a saddle then go to your chosen base spot build a farming base, then get flak kits and pvp ppl

I kinda got scared when I saw a rex near my base I actually was almost going to tame it when the Rex was taming I wanted to sleep but then I hit the rex and my animals killed him I’m still upset

I cried while my people died.

I finally got a trike I am so happy! Story I just quit the game for more than a month because I was scared of losing all my stuff. But you want to know the reason Reason Two spinos were roaming by the beach I am only level 35 so it’s abius I wold be scared so That’s why I. My heart will beat whenever I go near an animal that will attack or the music is the worst. Please don’t do what I did! Listen to the video it’s way better than I did So the heart thing happened even when I attack an animal eccepecially when I was taming the trike it was level 3 heat I almost had a panic attack I quit doe to this please listen to my story and always try not like me Have a nice 2020/2021

Not to be picky, but Midwipe tonic can be used every 24 hours in Official at least... They changed the once a level to allow Max Level Respecs

Never build bases solo. Make raft with a fab a smithy and mortar and pestle and forges make it look raided and put a vault on bottom of floor with all your loot in it. Never bring all your loot from vault to boat at once and when you log off make sure your boat is empty if anyone destroys stuff on boat you still have all stuff in vault and just rebuild what you lost

Movement speed is the most important thing first off get it to 130% he didnt tell you that you can runaway from things that are going to eat you no matter how meany points you put into anything else you do not have to die. I build thatch or stone if a dinosaur doesn't see you go in to your house it will not attack you once your inside! I know it is not what every person wants to do they want to be OP but even end game if you don't get attacked you will not Die!

I feel I’m still kind of a noob, mostly also cuz I get attached to my tames and don’t want them to die, so I often don’t take a lot of risks. It’s ridiculous, I know. But hey, I am in no hurry. I only get to play mobile, single player, which means..... only one map and many limitations, so I gotta try to keep the game interesting. That said, I AM trying to take a bit more risks. I did my first two dungeons last week (did NOT lose my Barry ❤️) and today I tamed a Quetz! So I’m here to see any and all tips that can help be get a bit better and braver.
