Great video and great job! Have you ever tried using a bevel jig on a work surface to get the initial bevel grind?

Thank you, it was a fun knife to make for sure and I’m shocked that it’s possible to “forge weld” copper to steel and equally shocked I didn’t screw it up. Yes I have a bevel jig that I used to use exclusively but as I got more comfortable and skilled at doing it by hand, I really don’t use the jig anymore and I feel like I get more consistent and better matching bevels doing it by hand. The one thing I’ve noticed is that if the blade is not 100% straight and using the jig the bevels do not match on each side. I’ve found that a lot of knife making is a continuation of fixing little screw ups until you end up with an awesome show piece.
