Yes, however he is just around 48 yrs of existence here. There are singers a bunch older than him/ old enough to be his father who still sound fantastic. Tom Jones and Johnny Mathis are just a couple of examples, in the event you or anyone reading this haven't heard them in their "mature years" 🙂
I love listening to Rufus singing this incredible song ,I have only heard him sing this when he was much younger, but you’re still got it you genius you.
One of the least-noticed things about Rufus is that he’s a technically excellent singer who knows how to breathe, phrase and stay beautifully on pitch. Man is a walking diaphragm that can also write lyrics.
Such a beautiful song. He still has it, even all these years later. It just reminds me of myself in my vulnerable status and it makes me tear up in a way I can never describe. God bless you Rufus. You made me find myself and have peace.
Thanks for posting! Not just my favorite song by Rufus Wainwright, but one of my all-time favs by any artist. Gorgeous piece of music. Should’ve been a smash hit.
I still can't believe I was able to witness him performing this song. It was my first time seeing him live and it was amazing! So sad that my phone did a crappy job capturing it.
This song breaks my heart everytime. Incredibly moving and I can relate to the lyrical content and the circumstances that inspired it. Love you, Rufus!
Oh boy! It’s funny how you can love someone w/o ever meeting them ... your passion to your craft and art is magnificent! Thank you for sharing it w us for so long!
I have the same connection of love with artists. The human brain is so complex, the chances that you find someone to connect to in your family is so unlikely. Thank God for the arts! I am not for estrangement, and I have gone in and out of it. I don't know what to think about the term "abuse" I love my father, but his words qualify. I will keep working on the difference between the two.

Lyrics: "Thank you for this bitter knowledge Guardian angels who left me stranded It was worth it, feeling abandoned Makes one hardened, but what has happened to love You got me writing lyrics on postcards Then in the evenings looking at stars But the brightest of the planets is Mars What has happened to love So I will opt for the big white limo Vanity fairgrounds and rebel angels You can't be trusted with feathers so hollow Your heaven's inventions, steel-eyed vampires of love You see over me I'll never know What you have shown to other eyes Go or go ahead and surprise me Say you've lead the way to a mirage Go or go ahead and just try me Nowhere's now here smelling of junipers Fell off the hay bales, I'm over the rainbows But oh Medusa kiss me and crucify This unholy notion of the mythic power of love Look in her eyes, look in her eyes Forget about the ones that are crying Look in her eyes, look in her eyes Forget about the ones that are crying Go or go ahead, go or go ahead, go or go ahead And surprise me Go or go ahead, go or go ahead, go or go ahead And just try me What has happened to love?"
