if you want to leave the prop-guards on you need to have 22" X 22" x12" this will give you the clearances you need and not make the case to tight of a fit
Thanks for the dickish comment Chris! Since you're so smart, maybe you could turn your replies on in youtube! If it's any of your business, I breath heavy because I'm congested and trying to talk and breath out of my mouth. Oh, and trying to think up what I'm going to say next!
I think it's fairly obvious from the presentation that a copter with prop guards attached is not going to fit without removing them. I'd think you'd want at least a case 2" bigger in each direction to ensure it will fit. My advise is to start google searching for a Pelican case and see if anyone has made one with a custom insert. As far as an update goes, there really is nothing to report as it's holding up very well. The exterior is a fairly soft plastic, so it does pick up scratches from banging around in my trunk as well as setting on the ground etc. Nothing serious, it's just that it's not cosmetically perfect anymore, which you'd expect anyways from serious use.
I got a similar case from BHPhoto, HPRC and it is great, but they fail to mention you can't put the quad in with prop guards on. So if they are important to you, prepare to bring a hex driver to the field and fiddle with 8 screws for unpacking and packing .
The thing on the front of it is a press relief valve... this case is the best one out there for the p2v and 2v+.... exelent quality and the bird fits perfect with props....
The button looking thing is a pressure valve. Its a seald case so when you take it to a higher altitude or take it on a plane with you, it will avoid bubbling from pressure.
The vent is a pressure equalization valve. It's there because the case would otherwise be air tight and a change in altitude could cause a vacuum inside the case, making it impossible to open. That valve is moisture/waterproof but it will let air in and out.
I just got mine...Finally! I ordered the one with the wheels and extra handle. I plan on taking it with me where ever I go. The round button on the front is a pressure valve so when you're on a plane you want it to decompress other wise it would explode. Happy flying!
