I am soon to be 66 and I can't get over how many people appear to need therapy for one reason or another, it certainly seems to be a growing industry but I wonder why when life appears to be less of a struggle than the years gone by.

Simple. Nobody "fails" in their youth. Adversity is part of growing up. Social media and its unrealistic expectations and envy. Food, exercise, and bodily health.

@@dmttday3030I think a lot of it has to do with society developing a higher standard for human well being than years past.. all u need to do is study up on the 20th century and you’ll see that people we’re depressed, psychotic, morally insane, ill tempered etc.. however, back in the day people pretty much just shrugged their shoulders and assumed it to be apart of the human condition.. now that our standard of living has raised exponentially our expectations for well being has raised accordingly and we are less tolerant of mental suffering than we were in the past, thus we are trying to do something about it

Just a note, therapy is not a bad thing. Although, most males are not open to therapy. The world we are living in is pretty scary in my opinion and I’m 70. People should be open to therapy. Great video guys!❤ sending much love.

Epic journey ahead, looking forward to all the adventures. Karen note as follows: that harness is not designed for hanging, its for temporary suspension after a fall from the structure you’re working or playing on. Legs will go numb due to lack of circulation.That shackle setup looks like it needs a look too. Boat needs skip, skip needs legs. Check out suspension trauma.

I senced some serious hesitations as well - from Ashleys side. Maybe Ash would like to see Willas allergies sort out and that would mean staying beside civilization for a longer time period? As a parent I fully understand that. Hope that you can maybe sort out this in Australia while building your new boat? I also understand that you have to keep your business (me and other happy RU-vid users 😊) up and running with some good content and I am (selfish of course 😅 and) extremely happy with that decision. Truly hope that everything works out anyway - life usually does! When you dont quite know what to expect, always expect the best possible outcome!

A big hug for Ashley, as a mom, who also had the same allergic reactions, I feel that Willa's health is a great concern at this time. I understand this completely. Ben, that new harness is awesome, it's so much better than the little seat (I cannot call that a harness) you used to have! Fair wind and peace on this voyage! I love to hear the kids talk. So cute! ❤❤❤❤

Good luck on you 2nd circumnavigation. I’ve done 10 times but it’s easier when your a pilot. PNR has nothing to do with a fog bank. It’s when you have coasted out and have to continue to your coast in airport. It is determined mostly by the winds aloft

Ashli, I sense your trepidation. The best advice my mother ever gave me and it has served me well, is....listen to that inner voice. Call it women's intuition or whatever you want to call it. It is something primal that we have in this modern world been taught to ignore. I, on the other hand have groomed that sense and I can see and feel danger, long before it happens. Personally, it is hard to verbalize it, but mothers of most species of living things definitely have it. All you can do is plan for the unexpected, which it seems you and Ben go out of your way to do. Many blessing on your 2nd circumnavigation and Fair Winds and Following Seas, Good Luck!👊🙏⛵⚓

Can't wait to see you on GUAM Ben, have you ever heard of a "4 part purchase", = 2 Double blocks, 1w/becket and enough line for 5X the height of the mast. From the becket on top to the bottom double block, back up to the becket block, back down to the double block, back up to the Becket Block and finally back down to the deck. They are easy, no need for a helper, you can tie yourself off by a passing the haul line forward through a 3~4 in. ring, at the top of your bosun chair to make a large loop, big enough to step through, slip the large loop you stepped through up and over the back of your head then cinch it up to the ring..this locks you in place. Also is adjusted height easy going down, start at top. Because it is a "4 part purchase" you can use smaller line. Yacht braid, 1/4 ~ 3/8 is fine with healthy hands. You pull 1/4 of your weight. You can store the whole thing in a bucket w/lid Always take a cloth bucket up with you and enough line, for anything you forgot. Easier and Safer! I will see if I can find a link. Found "BOSUN'S LOCKER" has 'em at GREAT PRICES! See "ALL" at bottom after searching "Double w/Becket"

Rather than the same route everyone takes have you considered alternatives? Round the horn through the inside passage...say no to Panama? Through Panama down to Chili, Peru, Easter Island, Pitcairn. To Hawaii, then down through all the various less traveled islands to French Polynesia? Across to the Marshal islands?
@imscanon
@imscanon 6 месяцев назад
Double check if you'll be able to get thru the Panama Canal when you get there. They've been highly limiting who gets to go through, mostly commercial vessels, because water supply is so low, and it's taking a LOOOONG time waiting 'in line' to get to go through if you do get to go through. You could be waiting over 2 weeks there (as of Jan), so do check in advance and see what the current status is.

I agree with you re latest technology. For the places you are going, you need reliability. Also, the reality is that living on a boat your carbon footprint is sooooo much smaller than anyone living in a house or apartment in the city. I also worry about the complexity of many of the new systems. For me, they break the rule of "can I fix this myself in the middle of nowhere?" I too want propane cooking and a diesel heater as well as as much solar I can put up.

You guys should look into mechman alternators for the new boat. Instead of a 12v system running a 16v setup. Making charging and power better and stronger.
