You will be truly blessed for the kind gesture that you have done for an innocent child who was abandoned by his/her selfish mother. For a heartless mother to just up, and leave her child alone on road that is hardly ever used, that is downright awful. If she didn’t want the child she could have drop the child off at a hospital or the police station, but just to abandon her child on the roadside was completely unacceptable. One day that mother will right her wrong. Good bless you and the child that you have adopted.

I agree, make a large Playpen of about 1.5x 1 5m and 70cm H, with the side slats no more than 10cm apart. Put a Blanket and some Toys, Dolls, Teddy Bear, Rattly Toys, and a Baby Bottle with water, in there, and set it in the shade, where you can see her clearly whilst working. A further smaller sleeping Cot could be made, but I realise that in your Culture, many Children do co-sleep with Parents until Puberty. As for upstairs, please make a hinged secure gate 75cm high, at the top of your stairs, so she can't crawl out and fall down the Stairs. She will still need Baby Formula Milk ( Comes in a Tin, in Powdered Form). in a Bottle regularly.... the one for 6 to 9 months old by the look of it. Also, as another commenter wrote, you can get Diapers/ Nappies for her, the cloth reusable ones. They are shaped like little pants and velcro together. Get about 6 of these. Rinse the soil off, and soak in Water with Washing Powder in a covered Bucket, adding others as they are soiled. Then each morning, give them a wash again in Water with Washing Powder, rinsing thoroughly. I also advise asking your local Pharmacist about Baby Wash, Powder and Lotion, to avoid Nappy Rash on her bottom. Another important thing to have is Baby Anti-Fever Liquid Medicine (Paracetamol), and also Patches ( Baby ones), that stick on the Forehead, plus a packet of Bandaids. I am glad you went down to the Police Station and reported her as being abandoned, as per the note found with her, and have Adopted her Officially. This was good for your protection too. I suppose the next thing to do is introduce the little One to your Family Members! Wishing you all the best.

Have a playpen, a crib to sleep in, plus bedding. You also could get change of clothes, baby bottles so she can drink water or milk. Maybe get a female goats for the milk, goat’s milk is easier to tolerate. The reason I am suggesting all that , is what if the mother comes back and trying to say that you are an unfit father . This way the authorities see that you are more then capable.
