As paradoxical as life is at times, I took the girl of my dreams to see Pretty Woman when it premiered. She was the love of my life, but six months later she broke my heart. Ever since then, some 30 years hence, this song remains my anthem and my promise to never love like that again.
I listened to Go West going around the streets of Seoul after work in the 90s. Listening to this now takes me back to those days when I was young and fresh LOL Peter Cox is still so hawwwtttt
The incredible Peter Cox is playing at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill Surrey on 21st May 7.30pm. Peter Cox is an amazing singer, you will not be disappointed. Please come and see him.
It absolutely warms my heart to hear this. Nearly 30 years and Peter still sound so amazing! I love the fact that half the band look like they weren't even born when it was released yet are just nailing the song! Great little fill at 2:30 by Phil G and Ben is so in the pocket. What a great performance, that is a very lucky crowd!!
I've always loved the mix of feel-good and bittersweet vibe of the song. The lyrics are sad but how it's sung and the tune wants to party and celebrate
Go West always have a killer Band behind them - one of the most continually good bands from that era - Peter Cox what a singer and a gent- met him a few times always nice and friendly .

Wow. As I sit here and watch this, I have the CD Froon (by Froon) on my desk, which I absolutely love, and which was mostly written and sung by Lyndon Connah. Plus I had the pleasure of playing with Austrian bass playeyer Vinzenz Benjamin once and - what counts maybe even more - filling in for him (on bass) in one of his early Austrian groups, when he went to the UK for the first time to work there. What an honour! Go West are great anyway and have always been.
I play and listen predominantly to Death Metal or genres of a similar nature, and have done so for most of my life, yet every single time I have come across this song in one circumstantial instance or another I take a moment and think, "This is an absolute banger!" I looked up this performance on a strange whim and it absolutely delivers the goods live. This song can live in my Death Metal playlists any day.
They certainly weren't one hit wonders here in the UK, that's for sure and they had at least two big hits in the States with KOWT and Faithful. Where are you from?
