Goan Tarle Sukhe is an ambot tik (spicy tangy) dry curry of Sardines fish. The fresh Sardines are prepared in spicy coconut gravy along with some basic flavourful ingredients.
The curry prepared is dry(sukha) which tastes best along with roti/chapati.
As you all know, Sardines fish are very healthy. These fish are a good source of omega acid (which prevent heart diseases), vitamins, minerals & calcium too. Hence we must include it in our daily food charts. The tastes of this fish are also best as compared to other fishes.
They are various Sardines recipes available online but I will recommend you guys to try out this famous traditional Sardine recipe from Goa. In our local language, we call Sardines "Tarle" & this Tarle recipe is very loved by all Goans. When Tarle's are prepared in spicy tangy coconut paste, it just tastes awesome.

Note:
*Take fresh Sardines fish for this recipe.
*While cooking Sardines along with gravy, don't keep on stirring the gravy as it will break the fishes.
* Ground Coconut paste should be thick & not a fine paste.
Ingredients:
300 gms - Cleaned fresh Sardines
1 tsp - Salt
1/2 - Lemon
1/4 tsp - Salt
Coconut paste ingredients:
1 cup - Grated Coconut
15 - Goan red chillies / 8 - normal chillies
1 & 1/2 tsp - Coriander seeds
1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
Other ingredients:
2 tbsp - Cooking oil
1/4 tsp - Fenugreek seeds
8 - Garlic cloves
1/2 inch - Ginger
2 - Green Chillies
1/2 tsp - Teppal / Triphala seeds
10 - Kokum pieces
1/2 tsp - Salt
