I made goat water today for the first time using your recipe. It came out perfect!! My hand was a little too heavy with the hot seasoning, but other than that, perfect!! I was born in Antigua and raised on St. Croix so I always had someone to make goat water for me, but never did it myself until today. Very proud of myself. Thanks!!
Thank you so much for this! I've been looking for an Antiguan goat water recipe for awhile. My family is from Antigua and I'm from St.Croix so I wanted to see this version and attempt to recreate 🇦🇬❤
I had long for goat water and my sister sent me your link. I followed your instructions and the goat water was a hit with me andmyfamily. Thank you for posting this!
Wow Sherika I've never seen goat water done this way. Mommy always used to add all the seasonings and everything all in the starting. This makes sense though because the seasonings won't get watered down. Love it!
Hey Sherika, I tried your recipe about 2 weeks ago since goat water is a fave of my husband. We were both satisfied with the taste. Looking forward to trying more of your recipes! Thanks
This looks like the real authentic goat water. It has me missing my home spot I used to go to on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely try it out. Have you done Antiguan souse as yet? I would love to see how you do that.
My dad spent his formative years in St. Thomas and he loved goat water. Last time he was in the Bahamas he couldn’t find it. So fuck it I’ll do what I do for his old man loved recipes and do it myself. I did beef toung right I’ll do this right too!
Goat Water On A Saturday Night After having some drinks.....😋😋😋 With Some fresh baked home bread to dip in the goat water... 😋😋😋It is a religious thing.
Flour water? It’s obviously simpler than making a roux and less fatty... but does it thicken it effectively? I’m curious of what an old Brown roux would do for flavor and thickness!!!
Girl i just looking to cook this today and click this and heard your voice, and i was like🥰 thanks for this babe... but come to the UK a big bag is £6....come cook here lol P.S will be sending you the pic🤭
Looking to make this sooon. Your recipe looks very good. Question for you. After watching a few other versions what is the added sugar meant to substitute? Is it the flavour or the browning process? I noticed you didn't add.
Yeah French, Vietnamese, Indian, American, African.... stews are all the same process.... building flavor!!!! Ingredients may change but the process is universal!
@@listenup2882I’m sure there are numerous traditions in Africa … but making a stew is making a stew no matter where you are or what your using. Read what your commenting on to avoid sounding like a jerk correcting someone on a mistake they didn’t make. Making a stew is universal, protein, veggie, starch/carb, or any combination of the fore-mentioned parts cooked in a liquid over time! Didn’t say shit about traditions…
Thank you so much for your reply. Initially I was looking for a most popular recipe most often served/ Most often I was shown an array of cooked foods without recipes or people taking so long to get to the point that I lost interest before they came to the recipe. I liked your video because it was informative & concise. (job well done!) Are you able to point me in the direction of an average day recipe meal consisting of the appetizer, entree & dessert recipe ? Thanx
@@NaturallySherika Well, a regular dinner would be just fine. Do your regular inners consist of an appetizer, entree & dessert? By the way, I luv. luv ginger beer. Do you have a recipe for that swell?
@@Autumn-Mist not on a regular, those type of dinners are usually prepared on special occasions. I can make ginger beer but I don’t drink it 🙈. I can add it to my list of videos. I have quite a few requests but time hasn’t been my best friend; however I do plan to get around to them all
Lol i went to Antigua and my friend offered me Goat Water without telling me what it was.. of course i said no.. then 5 mins later went into the kitchen where everyone was eating this delicious soup.. i was so mad she didnt offer me some.. 😂 she said i did..for the life of me i couldn’t understand how water come from goat 😂 she looked at me like i was stupid
Hi, Can I cook it without the hot spices? I would like to cook this for my partner who’s from Montserrat, but can’t eat spicy food unfortunately. I’m from Transylvania, so I never cooked this dish before 😄
I cooked it and my partner’s mom, who was a head chef for 21 years in Montserrat said that she’s closing her kitchen if I can cook like this 😁 thank you for your help
Actually really similar to Jamaica's Mannish Water. Just a few small differences: 🇯🇲's doesn't use browning, and they use every part of the goat (head, feet, intestines, etc) which really intensifies the goat flavor in the broth. Also really helps to pressure the goat.
Sorry but that is not goat water goat water is montserrat national dish and that is not the correct method all seasoning boil into the meat clove and thyme is that star ingredients 😢
Sis!! Add me on WhatsApp so I can stress you about recipes daily! 🤣🤣 I love your content. I live overseas and I still would love to have my local food . Thanks much !
