Im scared of feeling expectant...because I end up making so many mistakes, because at the slight greeting I just jump in without even asking God for counsel I don't want to disappoint God anymore and I dont want to break my heart

It's hard when you have waited so long. I've gone through a whole gammet of emotions. I can relate to a lot of it. I think there's a lot more than meets the eye. Yes, don't compare yourself, etc. But there's too many single Christian women in the church that are in a long waiting season. 40+.

I met a guy recently and we had a lot of fun. The thing is he isn’t nearly as strong and close to God as I am. He’s just a believer. Not working on his relationship. We had so much fun but I feel like if was completely my flesh that wants to see him again. It’s like I’m trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I’m trying to hardest to continue to look to god and run to hun about this. I also hear that the counterfeit comes right before the real deal. He also still has some bad habits that I’ve already grown from. It would sort of be turning backwards. My old self would go for him. I’m trying my best to not get tempted in this

Listen to your intuition friend! It sounds like you already know the answer! Do not grow weary, as you said, the counterfeit always comes before the real deal! If you feel a check in your spirit about this guy then he’s probably not the one! But definitely pray about it. There’s no such thing as a perfect man apart from Jesus. The man you marry will have flaws, but I think the important thing is if he is truly actively seeking Jesus! I’m praying for you that you can know God’s will and that He will either give you the strength to keep waiting or give you peace

It seems to me that he’s not for you [right now.] he could be someday, but either way, remain close to the Lord and nurture your relationship with the Father. If this is the man the Lord does in fac have for you he will come around. Don’t fear “losing” him. If it’s not, you can still get excited for whoever else it might be.
