8 games, and over a decade later, this man finally achieved his peace I grew up with god of war. It's crazy seeing how far kratos has come and I legit almost cried

seeing Kratos cry is like seeing your dad cry for the first time

Yay... Kratos is finally becoming a god not to be feared, but praised and worshiped...

The moment where kratos saw he will be finally respected and worshipped... I felt that on a really deep level, its something most aspire and most likely many will never get...

The fact Faye redid that final panel on the mural and instead of a man of who was feared, destroyed, warmonger, full of anger and rage, but instead is a man who brings protection and hope to others and is loved was so beautiful. Kratos is one of the greatest characters ever and his growth is in itself incredible. He is loved and finally knows it. He is at peace

Mimir finally giving the answer to Brok's riddle was such a gut punch. The writers and everyone who worked on this really outdid themselves, amazing game.

Sindri was pretty glad to get revenge on Odin but with kratos it feels like he has open his heart for once and found hope for his path once again and learned that hope was not just it’s weapon but it’s heart as well respecting his son

The prophecy dictates that A god of war will bring an army to fight Odin/Asgard. Since Tyr is dead, another one must took his place which is Kratos. The mural in Jotunheim depicts Kratos dying on Atreus Hands (presumably due to Thor/Odin). Since Kratos fate change, the one dying on Atreus arms is Odin.

Kratos seeing the sigil of him being worshipped is the best thing they could have left us with. He had spent his godhood in Greece, being feared as a brutal, vengeful god who destroyed Olympus. Now he’s the God of War who brings peace, not just bloodshed. Think it was something he needed to see, knowing that even he could change must’ve hit him pretty hard in that moment. That even though he was a machine of war, there was humanity in him. Goodness.

Seeing Kratos like this after a decade worth of games...I had full fledged tears filling up my eyes man

Finally kratos has become the god of peace so now he can live peaceful without nightmares of the past or faye's death

Seeing Freya fight with Kratos and Atreus, is a wonderful sight it almost feels like Freya and Kratos will get along in the next game and have another BOi.

The battle of Ragnarok has an aftermath story. Right after Ragnarok ends, 2 Surviving humans who hide underneath Yggdrassil would start to rebuild Midgard from Chaos. Along with it, Baldur return back to life alongside Magni & Modi a sthe surviving Aesir. The Cycle of Life of all realms return back.

seeing his BOY growing up, and finally become an adult, really brings joy and sadness to Kratos

This is like a huge reflection and call back to God of War 4 scene where Kratos sees his image in the vase inside Tyr’s vault and here. He smashed the vase because he was ashamed while here he cried knowing that it portrait him as not a killer, but as a benevolent person

I feel Sindri's pain......so deeply. My twin brother was killed on Christmas Eve, 5 years ago. I hadn't cried about it in probably near 6 months, but then saw this.

31:03 This moment right here is the moment that absolutely melts your heart. Kratos is so proud of his boy and he loves him with all his heart. And Atreus couldn't be closer to his father than at this moment. This is the payoff for all the suffering Kratos has gone through. He's finally found something _worth_ fighting for and also something worth cherishing.

I love how Kratos is clearly holding back and even encourages Atreus and let’s him think he is helping in these fights. He’s training him while fighting the All-Father here people 🤯 …fantastic!

Zeus had many flaws but in every single way he was a more superior ruler than Odin. Zeus was feared, loved, and most importantly respected. People feared Odin but his family despised him and the few ones who show him respect in his presence only do so due to his status or to kiss his ass like Heimdall . Zeus wasn't even evil until he was corrupted by the evil of pandora's box. He didnt need to fear anything or anyone. Sisters of fate deemed he would be victorious(until kratos), both gods and mortals revered him, and all the Olympians were on his side HELL Athena even died for him. Ares was literally the only one aside from the titans who tried to plot anything. Odin lives in fear and paranoia, people see him for what he truly is, and he cant trust anybody. whats the point of all that power if you cant live in peace because you're so obsessed with the power you have

This is following my childhood and my adulthood, i have a son and he was 11 when God of war came out and now he's 14 and very independent and see him growing up and becoming in something better makes me so proud, I really love this game and I love seeing Kratos soft side cause he's a dad and he loves his son like i love mine

I don’t have words to describe how satisfying this game is. From the real raw emotions that I get from it to the great feeling combat. It feels like they did GOW 2018 and then perfected their new formula in this game

I really like the development of Kratos since GOW1. GOW Ascension gave glimpses of his human side, now GOW Ragnarok expanded that.

That part where Kratos sees Angrboda's drawing of him as the new God of War (for peace just like Tyr) and start to choke up, hit me in the feels. Going from soldier to slave/servant to God of War to rebel to pariah to father (again) to general to then see he is finally free of the cycle was a damn good moment.

Love how that again - Kratos has to be the one left standing, uninjured, not tired... Kratos is literally way too OP.

It's sad that this is the last God of War game, but sweet fuck did this series have one hell of a curtain call! The last two games were masterpieces in every sense of the word.

Man if you had told me 10 years ago that Kratos would punch Odin in the dick and find his redemption and peace Id've called you nutty. What a freaking ride. Stories feel so half-baked these days, but this is truly masterful storytelling

Never imagined some moments in this game will hit me this hard. Kratos getting emotional, bidding final adieu to Brok, Atreus leaving his father to go on adventures on his own. These were a lot to take in. This franchise is the best thing that has ever happened to the gaming community. GoW Ragnarok truly lives upto the expectations and deserves GOTY title.

They did so well humanizing Kratos from the original GOW to GOW 2018 and now Ragnarok its amazing.

I know the real Tyr is still alive but I hope that prophecy in the end means that Kratos will finally be worshipped again as the God of War that liberated the realms and is known as the God of War that prioritizes peace like Tyr. He deserves it. He's suffered enough. Like quite literally, this ending made me realize that none of the endings in the original GOW saga ended in a happy ending for Kratos.

I tried to hold back my tears. But when I saw the ending,I couldn't hold it anymore. Kratos himself has finally found peace.

Sindri was germaphobe but wasn't disgusted when he touched the corpse of his brother brok. And that right there. Was character development.

I like how the second phase of the odin bossfight seems less like a mighty king taking a last stand, and more of just an old man’s desperate attempt at not loosing what little he has left

Atreus helped humanize Kratos, I wonder if Kratos will continue to strive for redemption without him around as the series continues. The god of war is still within Kratos

There is just so much wisdom in this game we can use in real life too. I love the development every character has went through, and it encourages me to develop into a better version of myself too.

I'd like to imagine after whatever comes next, Kratos, along with Freya, Mimir, and Artaeus will return to the ruins of Greece where the people will still fear him, but in time they help rebuild the ancient land. And from there they travel the world, helping the people and bringing peace.

It was sad to see that Odin went mad. Choices kept sent into his madness. :(

The growth of a destroyer. One who swore vengeance no matter the cost. Seeing Kratos finally realize that he can be a god he can be proud of and finally found his peace dawg this will make any grown man cry

I absolutely loved this ending to the Norse duology of God of War. After everything he's been through, everything he's done, Kratos has finally found redemption, something that not even the Norns believed he deserved. He's now a true god in the eyes of everyone in the Nine Realms, and he's regarded as a hero by all. It's one of the best endings I've ever seen in a video game, and it does an incredible job wrapping up this part of God of War. I wonder where the series will continue next, seeing as there are several possibilities for another game, such as Atreus' search for the Giants (which can lead into other pantheons), Kratos' discovery of the Egyptian pantheon (there are some Egyptian artifacts around the Nine Realms), or maybe Sindri's reconciliation with the rest of the cast as he learns to let go of Brok as his brother would've wanted.

If you listen closely you can hear the music of the original games, but it no longer sounds angry it now sounds peaceful. Layers upon layers.

Watching the 3 of them tag team Odin was oddly satisfying.

My dad only cried once in his life. It was when cps was taking me from my adopted family for false abuse claims. He looked at me and asked the worker if he could hug me. His hands where trembling around me. Good new, we proved karen lied and i went back.

whats so beautiful about the thing kratos saw in the end, is that hes even mentioned it, and anyone thats played all the games will say. he has ONLY ever walked a path of vengeance, one born from being lied to, toyed, deceived, beaten etc. but for once he sees a path not about vengeance finally a path where his ONLY purpose is not to butcher those that wronged him, but instead to protect people. and be revered for it as a hero rather than a monster. thats what was so nice about that part.

I like how much harder and more powerful Odin was to beat in comparison to the Thor battles. You couldn’t just throw/spam your axe at him.

Gotta love the fact that Thor and Baldr fought Kratos at and outside his home and in this fight they're right outside of Thor's

I couldn't truely imagine losing my brother so horribly like Sindri did. When Sindri said "I love you brok" at the funeral, it made me think of how I would feel in his shoes... it made me shed a tear just the idea of it... that's a hurt I hope to never go through for myself.

The long pause over Kratos' shoulder just watching his son and Angrboda is so beautifully done. You don't need to hear what they're saying, you can just feel what Kratos is thinking to himself at the time.

Sindri deserved every bit of getting the win, imagine a god walks into your house stabs your sister/brother and just leaves, it doesnt matter who they are thats personal thats not even just being evil

“Kratos is a man he shouldn’t cry.” I’ve seen this a lot in the comments and it just doesn’t make sense imagine being hundreds of years old and all people know you for is being evil but then you finally get people to see who you really are and start to praise you it’s incredibly emotional and any man would cry from it.

No shame in shedding tears for one of the best characters in videogame history. The story of the spartan general full of hate and anger, who commited the most horrible of sins, the mortal who became a god, who destroyed everything in his path to seek his vengance. To his transformation into a father, a friend, a mentor, a vessel of justice and ultimately a hero and a god of peace. I haven't seen a story such as this and it is truly an inspiring one. Our past is written and it will never be erased, but our present and future are for US to write it as we want, without the limitations of fate and prophecy.

I feel so bad for Sindri but at least his Brother and him had a good past, with some quarrels, and it was nice that they gave him a proper send off, unlike Magni and Modi.
