I like how in Gow 3 Each death of an Olympian Gods causes chaos in the Mainland like... Poseidon death (The Sea levels Rise) Hades death( All the Souls are released) Helios death(The sun Vanishes) Hermes( A fly and Wasp Plague) Hera Death ( All plants Die) Zeus death ( Chaos enrages)

To this day Poseidon still had the most brutal death out of all of them

God Of War 3 is legendary. I remember playing it in my last years of gaming years as a teenager 16-17 years old. I never forgot this game franchise and never will.

At a glance, Odin’s death might seem underwhelming. But I think it works well thematically for a few reasons. 1. One of Odin’s greatest atrocities was the genocide of the giants. So to have his soul trapped by a giant’s spell is a fitting retribution. 2. It’s a good call back to the beginning When Atreus (unknowingly) put Fenrir’s soul into his knife. 3. The fact that Sindri ultimately destroyed his soul was karma for him killing Brok.

Ill never get over Heimdall calling him a monster. The dude who threatened his son. 😂

Man I find the interaction between Hercules and kratos to be heartwarming in a way because kratos didint want to kill Hercules, if anything you almost get the feeling of kratos thinking to himself “ah no Hercules not you” because they had no bad history besides their fathers favouritism

Of all of them, the only 2 I felt sorry for were Athena and Thor. Sacrificed to protect somebody who didn't care about them. Tragic.

1. Margaera : Stabbed in the Chest, causing her parasite minion and Aegeon to die. 2. Pollux & Castor : Got Split in halves with Kratos stomp on Pollux's head. Kratos later took the Amulet of Uroboros. 3. Tisiphone & Alecto : Kratos break Tisiphone's Neck and kill her Pet Daimon, before kill Alecto causing her chamber to be enveloped with Black Goo and fall aparts. 4. Orkos : Ask Kratos to gave him an honorable death, which Kratos reluctantly agree. After killing Orkos, his bond with Ares is finally severed before burn Orkos isnide his old house. 5. Charon : Implae him with his own scythe before being pummeled using the Gauntlet of Zeus. Kratos then use Charon's Ferry to reach Palace of Persephone. 6. Persephone : After killing her with the Power of Helios and Gauntlet of Zeus, Persephone explode into a Burst of Green Light that destroy the Pillar of the world Top. Making Atlas to forever carry the world in his back. 7. Ares : Kratos kill Ares by stab him with the Blade of the God causing him to bleed and explode like a Nuclear Bomb. Making Kratos the first Mortal to kill an Olympian. 8. Erinys : Got Stabbed using Blades of Athena that was empowered by Thera's Bane. Kratos then took her power. 9. Thanatos : Stabbed with Thera's Bane enchanted Blades of Athena, causing Thanatos to explode into a White Burst. 10. Ceryx : Killed for by Kratos for standing on his way. 11. Theseus : Got stabbed by his own Lance before being smash using the door as Kratos took the Horsekeeper Key. 12. Perseus : Kratos disarm Perseus and throw him into a Hook causing him to died from blood lost. Kratos took Perseus's shield to solve the puzzle afterward. 13. Lakhesis & Atropos : Trapped inside the Mirror of Time as Kratos destroy it making them erased from History. 14. Clotho : Impaled with the Anchor. Which allow Kratos to control the Loom of Fate. 15. Athena : Got stabbed by Blade of Olympus in order to protect Zeus before revealing about the Cycle to Kratos and Died as she perish into a burst of Green Light. 16. Poseidon : Kratos pouch his eyes and break his neck. Poseidon's death cause the Sea Water to Rise as the Tidal Wave swallow the Land and flood the whole Greece except the top of the Mountain. 17. Hades : Got his soul taken by Kratos using the Claw of Hades. Hades's Death cause the souls of the dead to escape from Underworld and roam free to the Living world. 18. Helios : Got decapitated as his head scream for last time. His death cause the sun to be covered by Dark Clouds with endless rains and storm for eternity. 19. Perses : Gpt stabbed into the eye and fall into the bottom. 20. Hermes : Kratos cut his legs and took his boots. Several Flies comes out from Hermes's corpses as it spread Disease and Plague to the entire Olympus. 21. Hercules : Got his head smash a By Kratos using the Nemean Cestus and fall into the Sewer. 22. Kronos : Kratos disembowel him to took the Ompalos Stone and impale his jaw with the Chained Onyx. Kratos kill Kronos by stab his head with the Blade of Olympus as Kronos remark him a Coward who kill his own kin. 23. Hephaesthus : Got electrocuted before Impaled by his own Anvil. 24. Hera : Kratos break her neck for insulting Pandora and so the Plants life of all Greece is decaying and Dying. 25. Gaia : Got stabbed on her Heart alongside Zeus. Gaia died as her body crumbled. 26. Zeus : Kratos beat him to a Pulp as a Lightning Struck from his body and destroyed the bond between Heaven and Earth. And with it, the Olympus is destroyed and the World is in Chaos. 27. Kratos : Stab himself with the Blade of Olympus to release the power of hope into the World. 28. Magni : Got butchered relentlessly by Kratos before finally got a Strike blow in his head. 29. Modi : Already exhausted by the Wound Thor gave him, howver beacuse of his arrogant, Atreus stab Modi in the Neck for insulting his Mom. 30. Baldur : Was spared to stay away ftom Freya. As he attempt to kill his own Mom, Kratos vreak his neck while chant the Cycle ends here. Baldur's Death mark the beginning of Fimbulwinter and Freya motivation of seek Revenge. 31. Heimdall : Was spared by Kratos, however He doesn't wnat to swallow his pride and fought Kratos with Bifrost Prosthetic Arm. Kratos kill him out of rage so he won't kill Atreus before took the Gjallarhorn from him. 32. Surtr : Sacrifice himself to become Ragnarok as he doesn't want Sinamra to be involve. 33. Thor : Kratos told him to be better for the sake of his family. However Odin told him to fight. Since Thor refuse, Odin stab him with Gungnir and kill him. 34. Odin : Being defeated by Kratos, Atreus, and Freya. Atreus told Odin to be better, and he refuse. So Atreus put his soul into the Marble before being given to Freya. However, Sindri appear and destroy the Marble as a revenge for Brok. 35. Freyr : Scrifice himself so everyone can get out as he and Surtr destroyed alongside Asgard. 36. Gna : Spared by Freya, Gna insist to remain loyal to Odin even after death. So she ask Freya to execute her.

baldurs death was kinda sad cause the last thing he said was “snow” as if he had never seen snow or touched it b4 so him feel snow and saying is was really sad

You'd think after a while of killing a large number of god, demi gods and titans and other powerful beings anyone or anything that encountered kratos would just like "scuse me, let me get that door for you and get the fuck out of your way"

Moral of the story; don’t mess with bald people

Baldur’s death and just the circumstances around it has got to my favorite out of all these. The music just as it happens is enough to make it stand out and it actually makes you feel something for him.

To me personally Hera’s death is probably the saddest, and to me thematically I find very interesting as Kratos is essentially taking his anger out on a sad pathetic spiteful woman who’s kinda genuinely trying to deal with the catastrophic consequences of his actions. And while she honestly taunted him into doing it possibly as a suicide, I can’t help but feel it’s just idk like I see that and go “damn kratos”

The fight with Hades is easily my favorite in the series. So cool and you get my favorite weapons in the franchise

People would obviously end up comparing Odin to Zeus in their boss battles, that’s not surprising, and it’s also not surprising that nearly everyone came to the conclusion that Zeus’ boss fight is better (I haven’t even played that GOW and even from just gameplay footage, I give it to Zeus) But considering that GOW 4 and Ragnarok were about being better and making better choices over acting entirely on emotions and desires and justifying it since “We’re gods and can do whatever we want” it makes sense that the ultimate culmination of all that is an old man whose sense of power is knowledge and control over others For Zeus, power was POWER, the ability to destroy and wreak havoc, and it was a simple story back then, just kill the gods because they wronged you and need to pay But to Odin, power is found in knowledge and control over others, it’s why Odin is constantly seeking new knowledge, and it’s also why he manipulates others or destroys them if he can’t control them It makes sense that Odin would be weaker than Zeus, their ideas of power are completely different, Zeus finds power in destruction, Odin finds power in influence and both bosses are meant to stand for something different Zeus was a challenge of Kratos’ determination and strength, Kratos couldn’t just kill him and be done, Zeus would just keep coming at him, it was challenging Kratos to actually successfully kill him Odin was challenging Kratos’ morality, killing Odin would be as easy as bringing the axe down on his neck, putting his spear through his chest and blowing it up, or breaking his neck with the chains of his blades, but he wants to spare Odin, give him a chance to redeem himself

Watching Kratos kill poseidon through the gods eyes was bad ass! How terrifying. You have never truly known a challenge, then this guy shows up. You feel self righteous and know he can't stop you. ... Then he ragdolls you around. He knew fear in the end that's for sure.

I remember playing god of war 3 as a kid thinking this is the most epic shit I’ve ever played. I just played it again for the first time in years and it might still be the most epic game ever crafted.

I feel like there's this misconception that the new GOW games hold some kind of contempt for the originals story but if you actually pay attention to the themes of both new and old, alot of it is connected in very meaningful ways and there are both emotional and thematic parallels and yet are both handled very differently to show just how much Kratos has changed. There is a clear respect for the originals games and yet the new series never feels like its trying too hard to recapture nostalgia in the same way alot of "reboots" and understands that the series should move forward.

You know since this is in order and we can all agree that posidon had a very brutal death i think it was so brutal cause he was pissed that athena died instead of zeus that he took it out on posidon since he was the first god he got his hands on
