I love how Haephestos says "a weapons such as this can't be rushed" and then proceeds to create it by within 30 seconds. Proves just how skilled of a smith he is.
The gods all call Kratos a coward and yet they've all displayed disgusting amounts of cowardice while Kratos displays nothing but absolute determination, confidence and conviction.
@@mannyblackstar It was mostly just ares, Zeus and Athena (and persephone, but that’s from chains of Olympus). The rest he only killed because they were defending their home and king.
@@Acirclee yet we’re talking about the replacement or interim God of War, so they’re all equal at this point. However, to OPs point, that’s why his evolution in the new series is so impactful. No longer being blinded by the rage and vengefulness that consumed him in the initial series of games.
I like how kratos actually tries being a calm and reasonable person while talking to hercules because he can see hercules is blinded by greed and jealousy but still attempts to convince him to mind his own business becuase he'll die otherwise.
@@harvesterofhitpoints4597 I read a while back that apparently when Kratos took Ares office as the new God of War, Hercules was the only Olympian to actually show respect to him. Everyone else acted as if he was unwanted but Hercules treated him fairly. That is why in their encounter he tried to talk him down somewhat before fighting him. He was left with no choice but tried to be reasonable.
I feel like that's the reason why kratos was so adamant on sparing thor in Ragnarok. He saw hercules in him and he didn't want to have to kill a potential ally again.
If you think about it. He tried to ignore Helios, Hermes and Hera as well but they wanted to fight. Same with Hephaestus actually too. They all tried to fight him when if they had stepped aside they would had lived. Granted Hephaestus had the best reason to go against Kratos which was to save his daughter. Also geez a lot of these guy’s names start with an H.
It looks like that's because he was actually listening to Hermes and didn't disagree with his criticism of Kratos' character. Proving him wrong became central to his character arc in the Norse saga.
@@NotAGoodUsername360 is that so? I thought kratos sée its not worth it to waste breath with this childish big mouth of harmes and needs talk with actuall growns up

@@vaewr2671 Zeus is Olympus, as stated by Athena, also theres no way she can kill Zeus without killing some other gods since the chances of her and kratos killing him and only him were so low imagine if the other gods teamed up, thats why she helped Kratos kill Poseidon. I love how Kratos doesn't immediately kill Hera because she's so drunk and pathetic, she's not even worth it. So he gives her chances to walk away. But she kept pushing him and pushing him until he finally snapped (her neck).

I like to imagine this is what Heimdall saw just before Kratos killed him since he can look into a person’s mind and sense their intentions. Which is why his final word was, “Monster…”
@@camronmcclary4093 Well if true to the mythology, you're right, but.. When Heimdall meets Atreus, he knows Atreus intends to backstab Odin.. but doesn't seem to know the details. @Im Anonymous Saturn is the other name of cronos I think. That’s where we got the names of the planets from, the titans and Greek gods (like mars being the Roman name of ares)
@Im Anonymous That's the roman pantheon. All the planets are roman-based names but essentially are the same gods with the same story eg: Hermes=Mercury and Jupiter=Zeus
Just realized that Kratos always takes a moment to look around world whenever he kills a god and what consequence that bring. It just hits much more different when he said "There are consequences when killing a god" to Atreus. He was so scared that carelessly killing modi might bring a catastrophe in one of the realms, possibly midgard. He couldnt careless of what happens to Olympus, but he cares about the world that has given him a second chance in family and life.
It was definitely done this way to show how blinded by revenge Kratos was at this point. It wasn’t until he finally kills Zeus that he get a look at what he has truly done.

More accurate revision: Poseidon : The original was correct Hades : God of the Underworld “Plutus” was the God and personification of riches or wealth. Helios: The original post was correct Hermes: Wasn’t really a God per se, but he did represent a lot of things, except sleep. That was “Hypnos” Hercules: Wasn’t really a God either. He was born mortal, but some depictions value him as said God of Strength and Heroes. Kronos: God of Time, more of a Titan than a God, but is still referred to as God of Time. “Demeter” is Goddess of harvest. Hephaestus: The original was correct Hera: The original post was correct Pandora: Somewhat of a Earth goddess, but original post was accurate enough. Zeus: King of the Gods and humans. The original posts was somewhat accurate. Gaia: The original post is correct.

I never realized how the death of each God also destroys the aspect of the world they represent. It's a great touch that shows how evil Kratos had become.

By far my favorite thing about the God of War series is the fact that (at least in the ones before the 2018 game) they make it very clear that Kratos is NOT the good guy in this. There aren't any good guys, it's just people doing what they want for the reasons they want and Kratos fucking things up trying to get revenge. There's moments where it makes you empathize with the characters but there's never really a feeling of "I'm doing this for the greater good" its just all self satisfaction beating the shit out of assholes
To be fair, the gods were being incredibly unfair to him. Making him a God of war regardless of how emotionally disturbed and mentally distressed he is (just wanting his nightmares to end, not revenge btw), destroying Sparta.
@@gonefishing9781 I kinda like that it's not in that game. They took Kratos as a character in a different direction than most people would've expected and imo they did it pretty well
Gow4 is like a kratos who wants a family that he doesnt kill by mistake and proves raising a boy is harder than killing gods and likes saying "boy".👨👦
Kratos has really hurt Hades, even though he has a monstrous voice you can actually hear the anger and despair in it. If you listen carefully you can actually hear his voice tremble as he says "And it was you who butchered my beautiful queen", phenomenal performance from the voice actor.
This game was good , the story telling, animations , the combat and use of weapons especially the chains where smooth asl, the details, I remember beating this game like 20x and never felt dull or forced playing it. This game was truly a masterpiece.
Absolutely insane how much kratos really holds back in 4 and 5, like dude killed an entire pantheon for shits and gigs but now bro struggles against a marauder with the leviathan axe😭 crazy how he is willing to hold all that back for Atreus
He don't want to be a monster in front of his son But he had no reason to not let the inner monster out against Odin the only reason would be to let his child choose to spare Odin or not, but Odin is already as insane as Zeus is so I don't see the point.

@@Minicario the Egyptian pantheon didn't take it lightly tho. When kratos came to their lands, or rather just passed by. Not a single god dared cross him ( except thoth, but that was in one of his dreams so it don't count ), probably because of fear or worse, the entire fall of their own pantheon.
It was really unnerving seeing Kratos not only show Pandora mercy but to show concern for her as well, even going as far as to not let her sacrifice herself for the power to defeat Zeus, even though that's what he was going for the whole game.
I'm actually offended for Kratos whenever the Norse gods scoff at his power. Every time he fights a Norse god, they basically tell him, "I know you utterly destroyed Zeus, and Hermes, and Hades, and Cronos, and Gaia, and Poseidon... But can you beat me LMAO" Boi, young Kratos would've gone toe-to-toe with Ragnarok, himself.
@dead fishing Because of arrogance. They believe that they're simply more powerful. Kinda hard to accept that someone like Kratos, not even a full god, can kill you when you're supposed to be an all powerful being. So arrogance on top of denial.
