@@garrettjackson1451 that’s also true and I also think that Thor truly saw thrud as his true successor and he was right even if it wasn’t said she’s earned the right to wield mjolnr
@@GothicAngel11037 we actually knows that Thrud was a valkyrie and one singular episode in which a dwarf kidnapped her to get her hand in marriage, but she outsmarted him and learned dwarf magic , turning him into stone and fled his place.
I really like Thrud. She was kind to Loki even though she was an Essier god who could be called Loki's enemy. She is full of her own charm, and thanks to the line "You've got some really small shoes to fill" in the first meeting scene with Loki, I was able to understand the character of the Essier gods at once and immerse myself in the game. I'm really glad Santa Monica treated her as a big character. Thank you for the Video!!
Tbh if we get dlc, I think a great mini campaign could be Thrud focused. Training to be a shield maiden (boss fights with the nine, some kinda quest, maybe she gets to be “inducted” by Freya). Also cool would be seeing her meet Angrboda: bond over a shared fondness for Atreus, and also see Angrboda process that her new friend is the daughter of the god that killed so many of her people.
The Greeks and multiple other polytheistic religions had gods who were reflections of human nature, so morally, they were no better than us. It wasn’t really until Christianity that deities were portrayed as paragons incapable of or very averse to doing wrong.
@@willbrown6298 NG+ should let you chose your companions and switch between Kratos and Atreus in game. I care not for this "immersive story," if it means I can only play as half as many characters. Let us use the game's assets.
@@harumo9478 not at all. Atreus was 10/12 in the previous game. In the Thor cutscene it said "a few years later" not 100 years later. Now in Ragnarök he's 15, this proves what you said is wrong
Here's a little fun fact before the fight with magni and Modi in the first God of War 2018 if you talk to Sindri he while he's describing their weapons and fighting styles he mentions her
Thrud Thor's Daughter... her last name identifies who she is! Same with Thor: His full name is Thor Odinson! Same with Atreus: His full name is Loki (Atreus) Laufey(Faye)son. And by assuming that, all the Norse Gods' last names have their parents name making their parents easy to identify!
This tradition of naming is still used in Iceland by the way. The population of the island are direct descendants of vikings and the custom never changed.
I love Thrud, her design and her story but the one thing that weirds me out is how low her swords hang in their sheaths. I feel like she's gonna trip over them or that they are constantly hitting the back of her legs.
I just think of an alternate ending for this. The last battle is Odin killed Thor for disobeying him. But what if instead Thor is injured instead, and he can't fight Odin both because of the injury and because he doesn't want to fight his father. Kratos stop Odin from killing Thor. Thrud arrive and take care of her father, and the fight continues as normal. During the climax, Thor summon Mjolnir and toss it and Kratos wield it against Odin alongside the Leviathan Axe. In the end, of course I was well aware of how Thor could never live a happily ever after with Sif and Thrud after everything he had done. So I give him Feyr position, instead of Freya brother sacrifice himself to stop Surtur to buy time for the group to escape. Thor would be the one to hold the blade with his strength and lightning imbued body. He struggle to hold the massive blade, like in Asura Wrath style. Buy enough time to say goodbye to Thrud and ask Loki to look after her for him... He then ket out a roar as he unleash a blinding lightning blast that send out a shockwave that send everyone into the portal. Feyr: Its Ragnarok. He's here. [Surtur impale the Twlight Sword into the ground. A fiery light blind everyone for a moment. They soon open their eyes and are shocked at what they saw.] Thrud: Dad!! Thor: YOU WILL NOT HURT MY DAUGHTER!!! [Thor, imbued with divine lightning surge throughout his body, manage to hold back the colossal sword with his barehands] Feyr: We need to get out of here. Mimir: And go where exactly!? Angraboda: Need an exit? [Angraboda shows up with Giant portal and Fenrir] Kratos: How. Angraboda: Gaint stuffs. Lets go. Thor: GO!!! [Thor yell at everyone as he continue to struggle to hold the blade. Everyone briefly look at each other before head over to the exit.] Thrud: Dad no!! Come with us!! [Thor smiles as he look at his daughter. Tears stream down his eyes.] Thor: I love you, Thrudie. Never forget that...Hahaha, let me show you what your old man can do... NOW GO!!! Thrud: I love you too dad. I always have. [Thor exchange look with Kratos and both acknowledged each other. Thor then turn over to Loki.] Thor: Loki... Thanks for being Thrud' friend. Take care of her for me... Loki: I will. I promise. And thank you, Thor. [Everyone evacuate to the portal. Thor use his lightning to contain the fiery blast of Surtur Flame. After everyone has escape and Thrud saw her father smiles for the last time.] Thor: Now its just you and me, monster... Hahahaha!!! Don't you know who I am!!! I!! AM!! THE GOD OF FUCKING THUNDER!!!! [Thor unleashes the last of his powers as the most powerful bolt of lightning strike down and exploded the entire location.] Afterward, Kratos give Thrud her father Mjolnjr, and she accept it. Freya and her brother is still alive, and cannot believe that Thor sacrifice himself to save them both. Mimir comment and praise Atreus for helping Thor see the better part of himself beyond the bloodlust and monster that his father make him to be. Atreus will also comment on Thor sacrifice and how his love for his family help him change for the better. Kratos also acknowledge the comparison between both himself and Thor, of how despite them both being destroyers, the love of their family ultimately help become better. That is my alternate ending of this game. I never played it. But I just feel sad how Freya lost her last living relatives, Thrud never get to make up with Thor, and how Thor never get a chance to showcase his redemption by doing something for his family at the last moment.
Always wondered, what if thrud is Thor and Fayes daughter? She has the same hair color as Faye and Thor, she doesn’t have sifs blonde hair color at all, and her warrior type personality seems to fit more Faye’s and thors unlike sif lol
@@birdthebird3396 I think the video I watched before this, Brok referred to Atreus as Kratos’s ‘loin sprout’ or ‘crotch seed’ and well… that is the nature of one’s child The form may change, but that’s where they came from
@@marculatii8513 Yes, I read the comics. The comics should be online. Have you saw “Young Hercules, or Hercules adventures? Or the show zena warrior princess? On the show Zeus talks about how many kids he had with mortal woman. And about other Gods, These Gods were known way before this game was developed.
When your parents are drunken failures someone must be adult. At least were and Thor still is and her big brothers were drunk assholes just like her father was.
@@willbrown6298 I stand corrected.! 🧐 Nevertheless, the young Hercules series introduced a lot of the Gods way before the game was created. I watched every season
Does anyone notice it’s just the gods and the giants that have tattoos? Regular mortals in the game do not that includes Brok (RIP) and Sindri as well as the legendary king of Denmark
@@AK99581ow? u gotta be racist cus at no point does her skin colour determine how she acts. It never even mentioned. I would understand if u hated her personality and the way she acts. Just say ur racist and move on
@@rainyzack8134 I don't hate black people or think they are inferior in any way so no, I'm not racist. But let's be real here, the only reason a black person would be inserted into a tale based on Norse mythology is "diversity" politics, not because it makes any logical sense.
She's young and is Thor's daughter so when she gets older she might be bigger and curvy. her hugs will probably be the best.Skjolder is gonna be lucky😂😂
This scene was so funny and scary imagine you meet your enemy for a peace deal and suddenly you have to face his fierce granddaughter who can easily kill you😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's patronym - son-of-father's name. Or in this case daughter-of-father's name. Mythological Loki used matronym (son-of-mother's name) instead. Not a family name as they are quite new in common use.
@SLAPPED KING For liking a girl who could very well be couple of hundred years old? Also under what law? 'Murica or European? Or Asian? What country's law? 😂
