I really needed to hear this today. My father was abusive, but at 5 years old my kindergarten teacher led me to know Jesus. As I sat on her lap those 62 years ago, I determined to claim Jesus as my father. By doing that, all of my childhood I was able to pray for my earthly father as I realized it was my Heavenly Father who would raise me. My Heavenly Father NEVER let me down. People always asked how I could be so different from my brother and sister. I know it was because I claimed a ‘new’ father that day.

The Bible says God is a Father to the fatherless. My earthly father went into eternity a few months ago, on that day I learned that God stepped into not only my Heavenly Father but as my earthly protector, guide, & defender. HE will fight my battles in the unseen & seen realm. His name be praised, He IS near to the broken hearted & He is Faithful & true to His Word.
