No, having God call us out of our depravity, regenerate our dead hearts to hear the Gospel and giving us the effective, salvific faith to believe in Jesus Christ as the redeemer of our souls through his forgiveness of our sin based on his life, death , burial and resurrection sins is the best experience he provides for us in this world, until our complete sanctification and glorification in the new world to come. Our love for him is hollow and fleeting and cannot be trusted. Warren's messages of "purpose" is unbiblical and an insult to God's revelation to us that we were created for good works.

My farther in law had cancer 11 years ago. At the time he was leading a big evangelical campaign in the Netherlands. The doctors gave him weeks to live. He was prayed for by his friends and was completely healed. Now he has cancer again and will soon be in heaven. It is a very strange experience to of had years added to a persons life. A huge blessing and peace as he prepares to go. One of his friends said that some people see their cups half full and others half empty but few get to say like David that their cup overflows.

I have attended a small group here in our country with the same teaching, I had spiritual tests that I wasn't able to pass. I turned back from God and my church, but after all that I have done, God remains patient to me. God is good all the time.
God made you to have a relationship with him Worship is enjoying gods love and loving him back. Centering my life on God. Anything you center your life instead of god is an idol. Worrying is how you know your life is centered around everything.

I feel that God's family is everyone on earth... not just limited to the church. He wants us to love everyone, even our enemies. I feel that many non-believers choose to depart from Christianity because they feel a division based on beliefs. Loving those who have different beliefs is exactly what Jesus did. I love this message and The Purpose Driven Life book. This point, however, has stuck with me based on my relationships with non-believers.

That scripture is describing discipline and that whatever is bound on earth is bound in heaven, you are taking it out of context and it does not make sense the way you are using it because God is always in our midst, he lives within us.

My dog passed away. I know I will see him again. Every Christian I've encountered thinks I'm wrong. I'm Christian too. Every pastor says he has no soul and hes gone forever and kind of act like my dog is a demon or something. Sad right? 😥. God is all powerful, nothing is too hard for him. Sure he can bring my dog back to life if that is his will. God never said, my power is limited. Thanks for reading this, i just had to let it out 😎👌

If you don’t mind me saying it you have child like faith and don’t get offended when I said child like that’s a great thing Jesus said let the children come to me and Jesus talk about in the Bible how God only exposes these things to children. God does have the power to allow your dog to be up there in heaven and even if that’s not in Gods will to have the dog up there keep running the race of Christianity and following God there will be way more amazing creatures and maybe animals but must importantly Jesus up their awaiting 😊 keep the faith sorry for your loss
Heaven will have all we need to bring us joy. Bring in the presence of God should be enough but I’m sure is animals bring us joy, then they will be there. I do not believe they they go to heaven or hell as they have no choice to accept Jesus, but if they are pleasing to us in heaven, God will allow them to be there.
You won't miss your dog when you get to heaven. If you make it there and I hope you do, you will be too busy praising Jesus Christ to worry about a dog.

As a borderline suicidal person with a suicidal husband i have to say Those 2 first questions are horrible. In my depression i cannot answer those in any positive way. You are usually great but why would you ask those questions after teaching that our value is not determined by us?? When satan is attacking everything RIGHT NOW because we are listening to you to learn about love and value and worth and forgivability. I listened and thought "oh God please take me now" because if my future depends on the works of my past then i am screwed in no pleasant way. A little history.. I have always been borderline. I heard the prodigal story and thought . oh what a great test to see if I am loved by my earthly father and can have a decent testimony of salvation from the heaveny one and at 17 i ran away SIMULTANEOUSLY from both. Come on Rick... Awareness...
I hope you're feeling better God's Grace is what we need, we can't do anything to earn his favor he loved us while we were yet sinners. Know he loves you just as you are & he will carry you on!
@@marysanders8906 thank you. I am feeling better but given the medical condition - that as a "solution" is almost always just below the surface. I wrote that only getting through the first 3 questions. Ive since watched the whole thing and have a couple things to say. Question 3 removes the discouraged feelings from the first 2 questions. And that question really should be the only thing that leads to longer life. And.. 1.5 if you love your neighbor as yourself then it really needs to be understood that it is shown in how we treat our neighbors how we feel about ourselves.. Though that manifests in different ways depending on each person's struggle. I neglect myself at times and isolate. My husband neglects him self by over serving others. I once started writing a teaching on this .. And Pastor Rick's sermon on finding our identity fits perfectly here. Again, Mary. Thank you so much for being encouraging.
