From episode 21, one of my favourite scenes! My first go at an animatic, and it was quite fun! Probably should've started with a shorter scene though. ^^;; www.maximumfun.org/adventure-z... Tumblr: cherriielle.tumblr.com
ehh you ever heard of tything sometimes its 10% sometimes its 50% but they say you give your money to god or you go to hell so paying is most definitely not optional.
Love the touch of Taako and Magnus looking at each other like 'wait, does he mean US?' at 2:44 - I absolutely thought Merle was about to sell out the other two the first time I listened to this part.
Merle: "You don't know what's coming down the road. Someone could try to poison ya. Someone could try to rob you. Someone could try to kill you. Someone could run a train right into this building."And that's when I lost it.
There is nothing about this video that I don't love. I know I'm a little late to the party, but this is one of my favorite bits they've ever done and I'm thrilled to see it getting the appreciation it deserves. Also, very on brand for the McElroys, I adore the unintentional foreshadowing of the most recent candlenights live show, in which MERLE HIGHCHURCH has the dm, essentially a GOD, kill someone with a train!!! But mostly, I love this animation. Your interpretation of the characters is really cool.
No, Taako leads away the one in the booth (Barbara, who's later cleft in twain by Magnus). The second gate guard (JerrEE) actually survives into the final race to pilot the Hammerheads' vehicle, where he's eventually also killed by Magnus. Little Jerry is the only one of the gate trio that survives, actually (as far as we're aware in canon) - Taako just puts him to sleep when they cross paths, and the boys don't meet up with him again after that (except if you count him returning to base and sounding the alarm while the boys are still inside).
The thing that always kills me about this bit is back when I was a teen at bible study my youth leader decided to show us one of those "convert or go to hell" videos which seems weird considering we were at bible study but whatever POINT IS the video did in fact HEAVILY IMPLY that if the viewer didn't convert....god's gonna kill you with a train ajhsgsakjshglkjshglkj
I love how Meryl is always trying to spread to good word, part of me thinks it's a funny over the top representation of people who push their religion on others, but he's so even minded about it it feels like I should worship Pan.
This whole event when they are trying to get in is like one of my favorite moments in the whole series especially when Taako has to go to the bathroom bUT DANG THIS IS AMAAAAZING
I dont think goons really look well as cute anime boys. Also why is merle a woman and why is magnus also a cute anime boy. Everytime i see taako hes a woman so i guess that makes sense but the rest i feel ia kinda off
