As such another piece of music has been composed to honour the heir to the Throne which is ‘God Bless the Prince of Wales’. It is technically fine to use God Save the King in an historical context for Her Majesty’s predecessors, but in respect of His Royal Highness The Prince Charles the music to play is “God bless the Prince of Wales” which is a fine Welsh tune its own right - whether instrumental only or sung as this is an anthem specifically for the Heir to the British Throne
