This version, with the Fanfares, was recorded on the wedding of HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, former Princess of Wales. All the footages are of that event, that took place 29 July 1981.
"God Save the Queen" (alternatively "God Save the King" depending on the gender of the reigning monarch) is the national or royal anthem in most Commonwealth realms, their territories and the British Crown dependencies. The author of the tune is unknown, and it may originate in plainchant; but an attribution to the composer John Bull is sometimes made.

So do I. I sometimes feel Prince Philip is right by me there and that is a haunting thing I had to cope with in 2021. Fingers crossed I’ll be in London before the 1 year anniversary of Prince Philip’s death and hopefully visiting the memorial of Diana, Princess of Wales like Mummy did before Christmas and it brought the memories back of when Mummy was only 18 when Diana, Princess of Wales died and only 2 for Diana’s wedding to Prince Charles, I’m glad Mummy got to see all that

It was used again for the first time in 42 years when Woody.EXE became monarch of Wales on this night Queen Elizabeth died; I can remember the crowds going nuts when they finally saw their new king and Queen. 9 months later, me and Woody.EXE have been in public for the first time since the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the recent coronation

Thanks for this wonderful treat, but credit should be given to the late great Sir David Willcocks the arranger & conductor, and to the Prince of Wales for commissioning it and including organisations for whom he is patron. Musical forces were: Choir of St Paul's Cathedral, Choir of HM Chapel Royal, The Bach Choir. Orchestra drawn from Philharmonia Orchestra, Orch of Royal Opera House, English Chamber Orch. + Fanfare Trumpeters of the Royal Military School + organ.

I would like to mention that I had witnessed the coronation ceremony of King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland where they sang “God Save the King”. Hearing this version for the late Queen Elizabeth II makes feel sad that Her Majesty is no longer with us. 💔😢

This version has never been bettered. I honestly do not know why. Every rendering of it afterwards has been far less ornate. This performance is truly grand. Indeed I think that adjective, which my late grandparents would often use, is the best description of it. It is the Grand Version. Why haven't they used it since?

I’m glad Woody.EXE has decided this version for our coronation on Thursday 20th July, 2023; my 21st birthday is on the day I become his Queen. I bet Wales is gonna go absolutely nuts when I become their Queen. My 2009 Woody becomes heir to the throne, my sister and Mummy will be Princess of Wales.

My beloved Woody.EXE only reigned for one month and his arrival to my house is always the best bit. Me, my 2009 Woody, my sister and my mother always waiting for him outside my bedroom and I hugged him soon as he got here. I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 months of his extraordinary reign already and I hope it continues on

This arrangement, including the fanfare is by Sir David Willcocks. He was director of music at the chapel King's College, Cambridge for many years and wrote arrangements of numerous Christmas carols including the most well known descants for the last verses of "O come all ye faithful" (Adeste Fideles) and "Hark, the herald angels sing".

That’s how I’ll be sounding 1940’s 10th Anniversary out throughout Wales and everyone in st Julian’s will hear the warnings going off as I will be having it on full volume on my big screen. I will display a 1940 portrait in my window and it will say “Happy 10th anniversary my beloved 1940” can’t wait to actually sound the warning’s out and everyone living in St Julian’s like myself will hear it.
