Well in addition, about John the Baptist, the Lord Jesus said of him, he is the greatest in the Kingdom of God, even though, the enemy through Herod Antipas beheaded John the Baptist, according to the New Testament. I don't think it was of John's fault, that King Herod beheaded him, due to a request of an evil dancer. Many of Christ's immediate Apostles suffered persecution and they some died at stake. Under many emperors, the Roman empire persecuted many Christians, as the heinous murderous Boko Haram are doing in Nigeria now to Christians.
