The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. The fact is, a big war was in that period, but not with other aliens, with same aliens who create people... A small number was on our side, other against, beacuse a lot of them thinking that people should be slaves, not equal... Other races, on this planet, was killed, in big attack by our creator. I would love to see this movie re-done with proper casting, top-notch writing and better graphics. The mythology is one that we don't often see on the big screen (like a lot of great African mythology) and I think it is something that deserves to be properly explored with the right film team. This is a very pitiful attempt to bring the glorious, rich Egyptian pantheon to life (it hurts my heart honestly).

@Trsum_ Egyptians are as close to that religion as Iranians are to Zoroastrianism. With that logic we should hire only Italians to play Romans or Americans or Russians to play astronauts. Studios put actors in films to draw an audience. Its an investment.... Why bother, you only think of the "art" not the money that it takes to make the project.

@@social1435 nah. its bad. Every time the minotaurs are interacting on the screen, especially in the fight scenes, it just looks like turok graphics. When you HAVE to spin around the fight every time there is an actual fight to try to distract from the shitty CGI, it just makes it worse.

No one praises the hardwork of the vfx artists here, so I'll be the only one to do just about that: You, vfx artist guys, did what you could with the time and direction given to you. The CGI was noticable most of the times, but it was not as bad as people always said to be. People just like to over-exaggerate their hatred, maybe because that makes them feel better about their own pitiful lives. I hope next time, whoever vfx artists who worked in this movie would get better platform and environment for them to work out the best of their potentials, and move on from their dark times.

You think this is bad? You should try watching those Chinese CGI-intensive so-called fantasy-swordfight films. And there's a bonus headache - English subs, if existent at all, are either in microscopic font sizes or they appear on screen and then disappear in a flash (despite the sentence or phrase contains 10-20 words) lolsss.

Everything about it just seems kinda...dated. The weird blood, the odd way that they skip frames, the motion blur that's on their arms and legs but absent from every other thing in the shot. Heck, even that weird chorus effect they put on the leader's voice just seems almost like Spy Kids quality CG

@@vortigauntfan Yeah they didn't do the CGI that well. It didn't blend with the scene that much. I was born in the early 2000s, but like the old 1990s movie where they combine both CGI and practical effects like Starship Troopers, making it look super real. Where as in nowadays they use CGI for everything and you could basically see the computer effects (or the slight disconnections) on the images themself.

Tyto, same here. It's a fairly well choreographed fight, not the best, and the editing struggles mightily to make it believable... but the monsters are such obviously animated inserts, they diminish even the fantasy credibility. ... it's just looks a bit off.

@Blumpking im not suprised to be honest consider Ing r1b traveled through northern africa and then via Spain into Europe, hence why we See Celtic genes ergo the earliest homogenous r1b cultural Group to arise in Europe. That is so cool! Where can I learn more? I've done psychs a few times and it's quite enjoyable but next time won't be for a few years until I'm more ready. Any good topics on the subject, especially about ancient third eye enlightening type of historical use?

@@pharaohsmagician8329 My personal pantheon of voice-recorded greats includes Terence McKenna, Alan Watts, Ram Das, Gabor Mate, Stanislav Grof, Graham Hancock and Timothy Leary. I do also like Osho, Sadhguru, Paul Stamets, Jordan Peterson and James Corbett. Graham Hancock is interested in Ancient Egypt, but Terrence McKenna might have some material, too. Hancock's banned TedTalk might be a good place to start, and his collaboration with RU-vid channel 'After Skool' about Ancient Egyptian God Thoth and his prophecy. Thoth, of course, the Greco-Roman God Hermes/Mercury and developed into Hermes Trismegistus the Hellenistic alchemist, who McKenna was interested in. Bear in mind that the chakras (eg. the third eye) is from Hindu/Buddhist tradition. The mystical Jewish tradition Kabbalah has ten sephiroth, which are equivalents of chakras. Jordan Peterson also has some excellent talks on Ancient Egypt. The documentary Fantastic Fungi is a must-see.

I'm tempted to just blurt out and ask you what it all means because I'm so curious for answers and deeper answers but thats not how it works and it's all about the journey I think. No one man can have all the answers I think, and if he does then he will be asking new questions that the rest of us haven't "got to that level" yet to ask. Even then it's subjective. What do you think the greatest truth in life is that youve discovered through your discoveries? And what's the biggest secret you've found that you are willing to tell me? I'll start with my own; I think if the afterlife exists we are born into it as babies and not our fully grown adult bodies. Just my opinion I could be wrong, and maybe sounds basic but to me it was quite interesting and thought provoking. Also I don't really know what people mean when they say dimensions are not different places but rather different perspectives and realities all overlapping on one. It makes sense when I think of it from the perspective of 2d looking at 3d world or a old man visiting a childhood location. Or a human trying to imagine what it's like to have some rare animal ability

@@itsgonnabeokay9341 it's exactly the way it works. Maybe You have missed biology lesson in school? Without second eye, you can see plain world not 3D. Only with two eyes our brain can see AND measure the distances between objects. Cover your one eye and try to move in the forest or messed up room. It won't be easy. Same in fight with enemy

Many of the ancient religions borrowed concepts and legends from one another.. even Christianity borrowed aspects from Egyptian myths and customs too.
