Bro Kong was done in the sea, depth charges saved him. And than he was dead in the hallow earth first titan fight. Missile in the back save. And than he died again in China fight...
He will always be the king of monsters. He kicked the crap out of the avengers and fantastic four in comics too lol. Only Thor with the hammer managed to make him feel pain, but then he literally blew Thor away with a roar.
Another thing is ishiro honda the director of the original godzilla 1954 film. He was also a war veteran of world war 2 and he incorporated his experiences of fear through some of the characters in the original godzilla movie because they were portrayed as real people meaning no comedic relief, no evil supervillain or hero.
Ishiro Honda is the same guy who eventually moved on from gojira and realized godzilla became his own entity that represents more than the ww2 themes he originally implanted into his film
Super excited for this movie, Chad is 100% right about the origin of Godzilla from the film makers perspective, even his bunny scaly skin is to reflect the burn scars from the people that survived the nuclear bombs, eventually over a few movies as a villain he started to become more of a hero. Some of his later movies in the 70s started to become oriented to kids and kids became fans since he was now protecting the planet even had a movie where Godzilla fought a monster made of pollution as a message to stop polluting. The movies were becoming goofier too that same movie has Godzilla use his atomic breath as a way to fly don’t believe me look up Godzilla vs Hedorah Flying scene opioids hit the country hard at that time.
Toho doesn't need to remind the MV anything when toho MADE godzilla into a hero and a force of nature in the first place 🙄, you're basically suggesting toho to tell legendary *Stop adapting the force of nature side to our character that we made movies on* godzilla has more than 1 side to his character. He's a force of nature or a walking nuke. Toho has done both and legendary is just adapting one side, even toho has done both in their current reiwa era by giving us shin gojira who represented godzilla's original message and godzilla earth immediately afterwards who represented the SAME messages as legendary godzilla. How many purist seem to forget the no.1 reason godzilla is so well loved, his versatility
I never understood that. I mean like what you like but Toho purists need see the bigger picture. The MonsterVerse adapts a lot of elements from the Showa era, one that many american fans grew up with and when Godzilla transitioned from a terrifying monster to a defender, neither good nor evil.
@@jw_gojifan19 Toho purist only acknowledge the 2 sides to godzilla when it's toho doing it, they suddenly wanna act like one side (the heroic/force of nature side) doesn't exist when 1 country adapts 1 side and toho does the other. Basically just a case of purist gatekeeping godzilla from being spread out across the globe. Shocking these same purist aren't saying "if you're not Japanese, you can't be a godzilla fan" which is the same energy as saying only Japan can make godzilla flicks
@@jw_gojifan19 It's a close minded mentality that basically forgets what godzilla actually is, he's essentially saying godzilla's nationality is more important than his themes.
I would have loved for King Kong to one in Godzilla versus King Kong but we got to look at the facts Godzilla had a lot of things going for him he was much denser you could swim in water be on land he had a long range attack Heavenly armored scales I mean atomic bombs couldn't even get this guy in the original Godzilla versus King Kong they had to give King Kong lightning powers are electrical powers
I recommend yall watch the 1954 godzilla movie minus one is the remake of that film plus react to King kong vs godzilla 1962 toho is the home of Godzilla 70 years of the king of monsters
Wait until Chad learns that Kong won in the original King Kong vs Godzilla. Even though Godzilla is cooler it doesn’t matter because Ultraman beats both.
@@mjjones2241 no. That is a common misconception, in both the English and Japanese versions of the movie Kong wins the only difference is that there is one extra line of dialogue in the Japanese version where one of the human characters says that he thinks that it is possible Godzilla survived. Wikizilla and Dman1954 both have great videos explaining this.
This battle is not balanced at all, Godzilla is the fucking radioactive dragon/dinosaur that eats atomic bomb explosions, Kong is just a giant gorilla 😂
I've been watching all the Godzilla films this year in anticipation for this. Seen the first 25, got three more films left in the Millennium period to watch, going to rewatch the Monsterverse films and Shin Godzilla, very unsure if I want to finish watching Godzilla 98 it had a good start but I just can't stand the American humans. 🤣
The cteator comfired that godzilla was just toying with kong the whole time and said that he knew he was in control the whole time however when kong hit godzilla with the axe he got mad because of his ego and finished the match
Godzilla definitely kicked the shit out of kong in that crossover.... but if you follow original cannon Godzilla would have eaten kongs by the handful like mnms.... no contest Godzilla is the best
Could you imagine if Godzilla whipped out an axe too, lol. Kong would have been wiped out. But yeah clear feats putting Godzilla over Kong multiple times. Kong is meant to be the underdog, that's why people like him and it's better that he has to work harder.
Fun fact the original King Kong vs Godzilla movie started out as Godzilla vs Frankenstein, but toho couldn't get the rights to Frankenstein. Instead they got the rights to King Kong and made it so he got stronger from lightning and electricity, while Godzilla was weak to it.
Legendary Godzilla was at half strength when he toyed with Kong and killed him. They had to shock Kong's heart to bring him back. If they didn't have that vehicle, Kong would've stayed dead.
The 90s (Heisei) Godzilla wasn't really much of a heroic figure, while he did fight other monsters, he also fought humanity and was very much not their friend (in one of the movies he specifically targets a person who was trying to save him) unlike how the new american one is portrayed as a sort of benevolent equalizer. The late Showa era (70s) Godzilla was much more of a hero character though as he transitioned in the 60s from an antagonist to reluctant helper and finally a kid-friendly "superhero". He's been pretty consistently depicted as an enemy of mankind who occasionally fights greater threats before going back to attacking humanity since 1984 in Toho media.
@@mjjones2241 dude kong was a kid at that time, not much of a fair comparison. Godzilla got beaten by a kong when he himself was younger and bested a fully grown one centuries later
I had to see the movie twice and I'd love to see it in black and white if it comes to the West, definitely getting the 4k or BD of the movie, this is just as iconic as the original 1954, everyone needs to see this movie.
I have been a Godzilla fan since I was six years old. Loved every era, Showa, Heisei, Millennium, MonsterVerse, and Reiwa, though Shin has been the only good thing about the Reiwa series but Minus One seems to change that. I’m calling it now, Godzilla Minus One will be film of the year. I will be seeing Minus One more than once and once all is said and done, we are getting Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Can’t wait for both!!!!
Buddy it'd ironic you bring up pacific rim when kong (and let alone MOST) kaiju eat the jaegers and kaiju from PR for breakfast due to how ridiculously lightweight they are. Kong ironically gives godzilla more of a fight than most jaegers would. Also....did you not see the original king kong vs godzilla? King kong escapes? Kong skull island? And kong's 2 animated series?. His character isn't "climbs a building a dies" by yourlogic, godzilla's character is "causes destruction and dies to a 1 eyed scientist" cause that's how he went out in his first film
Buddy godzilla's title is literally KING of the monsters, godzilla is a male, get that godzilla 1998 movie out your head 😂. That movie didn't represent godzilla properly as a character nor does it represent the franchise. Even in that film, godzilla was an asexual male, not a female.
Ever since Legendary has been portraying Godzilla as a hero he’s been getting nerfed big time. It’s what heroes do, they hold back during fights. This is why Toho needs to remind Legendary what Godzilla is all about.
@@mjjones2241 kills me when purist like this guy forget toho already made godzilla a hero in the first place with heisei godzilla being an hero towards the end of his era and being one of the most OP incarnations 😂
Buddy legendary hasn't been getting held back nor nerfed, his burning form or drilling into the hollow earth don't scream nerf by any means lol. Not all heroes hold back, especially anti heroes which legendary is. Toho doesn't have to remind legendary of anything when they're portraying godzilla in the SAME force of nature concept they already did plenty of times before.
@@AllsparkSupremacy Yes, king of an island, same way you had humans being rulers of countries and islands in real life. Being OP isn't a the only thing to being king
@@TheycallmeHatGuy 😂 Mothra, humans, kong was there always to save Godzilla I know Godzilla is no.1 in this monsterve but honestly I love kong more He is the king 👑
First off, Kong would've mever have won that battle Against Godzilla due to the fact that Godzilla had worn Him out during the blast evades Kong was doing, sorry To say but Godzilla had more energy to spare in strength Even before he met Kong!! Godzilla spent all his strength In blasting g away things and yeah will tire godzilla at a Point where even Kong got a win on godzilla, Kong than Knew there is no way for him to comeback at full strength At godzilla. Even Godzilla knew that. Which is Why he let him live. Plus there's an Alien invasion from Planet X who created the first Space Monster, Monster 0 And they also have a sjit tons of space Monsters ready For war and godzilla knows it which is why he had to Make sure Kong can fight! And he proved himself worthy. Now godzilla knows he's not alone when the invasion Happens.
