This game is the opposite problem of the first as that one was too easy but this one on the other hand was too hard, with cheap moments like with the bat and the giant rat in a level that chews on you and have no idea how to get it off you. Yeah not a good game but like the first still have nostalgia for it, but very excited for you to review one of the best Godzilla games ever 😁

Western-made licensed portable video games really entered a new era of awful around the turn of the millennium-people give LJN a lot of shit, but compared to some of the licensed drek on GBC and GBA, LJN almost looks a little competent-some of the time, anyway. Not even saying the developers themselves were necessarily bad, I’m pretty sure it’s just that the budget for these sorts of games dropped even further and the mandated turnaround timing got even tighter.

As a kid I started with monster wars first. To this day I still haven't got to cyber Godzilla because that last level, you have to be pinpoint accurate. I got the first game and beat it on my first play through

Hi MIB, yeah this game is really bad. Got this from KB toys and played it as a child and it's not a fun time, and i beat it without a cheat code!!! While the previous game was a bit of a snoozefest, this game is absolutely brutal to play with the difficulty up way too much!!! The bosses are the same, but the worst is that damn bat and it's sonic waves keeps killing me!!! Not a fun game to play, it's a must skip. Great review!!!!! Lastly, *FINALLY!!!! GET READY TO CRUMBLE!!!!!!!*

No wonder the animation is impressive. They spent all the time and effort making that opening sequence that they ran out of both, and just farted out two rushed games. Though, I respect they used characters from the show as the bosses. There are so many licensed games where they don't even bother, but then again they're at least better than this. Also, that Jet Jaguar plush pillow pal thing. It's like he's part of those old WWF/WWE Battle Brawler toys. Looks just like them.

Godzilla Unleashed on the Wii is probably my favorite Godzilla game out of the ones I've played. It's just a shame that all three games were exclusive for different consoles.

I have fond memories of the first game, but the one attempt I tried for the second game and I dropped it--mostly because I couldn't figure out how to use the fire breath (on a ROM, not the original cartridge). But even then, the lack of replenishing energy made the game far too difficult to pick up and move on. And in retrospect, glad I did. While the other monsters looked fine, Cyber Godzilla really doesn't look all that great, and knowing the ending is just a repaint of the original's is just... Eugh. I get probably time constraints / limited budget / quick turnouts are probably a big part of it, but still. Ultimately proves your point--even as a person who likes the first GTS game, Monster Wars is too garbage to support, lol.

Yeah, even having this game as a kid, this game was basically unplayable; I definitely had to break out the Gameshark for this one. Outside of some decent sprite work, this game has basically nothing good going for it. Even nostalgia can't trick me into thinking this was fun. Excited to see your next review!

Fun fact:cryptoclidus is an actual plesiosaur that lived in mid Jurassic Germany and doesn’t look or have the same powers or size of the version in Godzilla the series

It’s kind of sad really because I feel like a game based on the 1998 Godzilla animated series could have worked well like imagine if we got a game where each level was based on every episode in chronological order where you control zilla jr and have to fight against various monsters from the series kinda similar to the ps2 ultraman games like for example if we got a level based on episodes competition with monsters like king cobra and the robo yeti, deadloch with the Loch Ness monster or end of the line with monsters like komodithrax (as a playable character) and the giant turtle I think it was more of a missed opportunity really

Honestly MIB, I had no clue there were 2 of these games! I watched your review for the previous one and was shocked that it was different than the *impossible to win* game I played as a 9 year old. This is the one I had... and never beat. Now I wish I had the other one; at least I could have beaten a level on that one as a kid! :P

Honestly I love the Godzilla pipeworks trilogy but the only complaint I have with it is that I’ve never been able to play a single one because I didn’t have the right console at the time and now they’re way more expensive I wish we could just get a new pipeworks style fighter for the recent consoles so I can finally experience something close to the glory of Destroy All Monsters Melee, Save The Earth, and Unleashed

Huh. I had just played this game not too long ago on the Gameboy Emulator on my Wii. And yeah it was bad. I couldn't even play it for 5 minutes without getting bored real quick.
