Like that stupid beacon they made or whatever it was that was supposed to communicate and manipulate the Titans like dude…just no. I know they need humans so it won’t be too expensive, but I hate when the humans have some huge effect on the Titans.

I actually liked how the little girl never lied, as far as we know the titans and skull island creatures came from hollow earth so logic dictates there MIGHT be more down there, and thats what the caretakers says to the little girl and what the girl says to kong. She even stresses how she doesn't know for sure but she does know for sure that kong can't stay there. I thought it was the tightest script moment personally. And in the end even though there weren't other kongs down there, King Kong now has an entire mini earth to rule over and be free, much better than even all of skull Island. It was all about conveying to him that it would be a better life down there even though he doesn't realise that yet.

I think it's also nice that these two Alpha Titans (Godzilla & Kong) now both shared the kingdom. Godzilla ruled the outer earth, while Kong ruled the inner/hollow earth.

You forgot to mention one of the best parts which is when Godzilla gives Kong the assist by charging up his axe with his atomic breath and that helps Kong slice through Mechagodzilla with ease. Such a satisfying moment.

It's rare for a film to have a truly satisfying death for a villain and somehow this film managed to have three. Speaking of which, MonsterVerse has delivered some fantastic fatalities. Godzilla has the kiss of death, Kong: SI had the gut rip, Godzilla: KotM had the Big G going nuclear and now Kong's spinal rip.

I mean obviously godzilla had the edge for the Grand majority of the film but kong was not a pushover. He is fast and strong after hold its own against godzilla for a time. He also has a better tactical mind and godzilla. Guzzle mostly uses brute force as a tonic breath to keep enemies away but Kong is smart enough to recognise that he needs to keep moving and utilising environment to stay strong.

Like in pro-wrestling, Godzilla (a character on loan from Toho) was contractually obligated to win. Kong's job was to make the fight look competitive.

I don't know about anyone else but anytime I went back to Millie Bobby Brown story. Everything just stopped all the momentum just got zapped from the scene. I really wish they explored more of Kong's relationship with the deaf girl that was way more interesting.

@@saninpain Given the way he infiltrated and navigated Apex, I feel like he was former military. Would also explain the gun holster. Feel like they cut about 30 minutes out of the B plot, though I'm kind of glad they did if so. Serizawa Jr. doesn't interest me, and the kids would be overbearing.

When Godzilla shot 50 feet into the ground and Hollow Earth was there I was so confused. Like, what happened to all that wormhole travel stuff? Wasn't there a sky under there!? lol

If you really must think about it, Godzilla's breath probably interacting with the energy that makes up the wormhole thingy separating the hollow earth from the surface world and created a portal between the two. So it doesn't actually pierce through six thousand kilometers worth of rock to the center of the Earth.

Like...I’m sorry, were your credit scenes with random newspaper clippings and wall drawings really all the setup we get for this match? No explanation on why these two? No backstory? Nope. We could've had an epilogue with Kong teaching Godzilla sign language and they do the fist bump. The Kong offers Godzilla a handshake but pulls it away and laugh at him as he swipes the air, so Godzilla punches him on the shoulder, dislocating it again. Then they snarl at each other and look like they're going to fight but then the just laugh and peace out.

Mind you, they can't use the name King Kong. They're actually exploiting a loophole created by a court case between Universal and Nintendo the outcome of which basically dictated that anyone can create something about a gorilla using the word "Kong" as long as it's not "King Kong".

They apparently have an ancient rivalry. "Do you think you could show us some proof or evidence of this rivalry? Like maybe some bones of the creatures fighting each other or a cave painting, or even just a legend?" Nope, you're just gonna have to trust on on this one. Just like you're going to have to trust us that we somehow created a secret, meglev tunnel from Florida to Hong Kong. Not even a tunnel from California to Hong Kong, but from FLORIDA. And we aren't going to explain how much it cost, how long it took to build, how we dug across both land and the ocean floor, or how we kept it a secret either. You're just going to have to trust us on that one too.

King Kong was definitely angry even BEFORE Zilla showed up. He even got the first Haymaker in. He did more than I expected him to. He doesn't have special powers as most of Godzilla's enemies do. He's just a big ass Gorilla with a 2 piece combo and a big brain and a big heart. Logically, the atomic bomb absorbing Komodo Dragon was obviously gonna win. He even had Zilla spam that shit. Respect to Zilla for going primal tho. Never seen that before. And respect for the developers showing him burning a hole all the way to hollow earth.

It wasn't hard to figure out that Serizawa's son would likely be anti-godzilla because he would see it as Godzilla killed his father....Its not hard to figure out that no matter how many times he was told that he killed himself to help Godzilla, he wouldn't care

Pretty sure that, in addition to the Ghidorah skull that was operating as the remote control, there was another built inside the Mechagodzilla, which was how the telepathic control worked. So, MG was basically kind of a Frankenstein Ghidorah, right?

I had only one disappointment with the movie. They made this big deal about calling the vehicles being used called "H.E.A.V.s"... but while I saw a few opportunities for them to do so, never made the pun of "HEAV ho!"

did you miss that during the battle with Mecha Godzilla that Godzilla fired his plasma energy beam at Kongs Axe to super charge it on purpose to help Kong (showing that he isn't as unintelligent as some think); and *that* gave Kong the advantage to hack up Mecha Godzilla? oh and Mecha Godzilla had Ghidora's consciousness inside, the eye when wired up to the computer system was broadcasting the specific sound/sub-sonic signal broadcast of a threat/challenge that an "alpha" titan/ghidora would broadcast when it was alive. I'm pretty sure APEX put a part of the brain from the Ghidora head inside Mecha Godzilla.... so it had a "mind of it's own" overloaded the control system.. it didn't just suddenly start thinking on it's own out of nowhere. It DOES seem like a good 15~25 minutes of story exposition was cut from the movie; I pray an Extended Cut/Ultimate Edition with the extra footage is released to Blu Ray ASAP
