@aditi Goechala isn't recommend for your first trek. It's falls in the moderate-difficult zone so having prior himalayan/ high altitude trek experience would help
He is so right... Walking the sand bowl surrounded by huge mountains is like getting a glimpse of heaven... I was there twice, 2005 and 2010...however, the walks from Dzongri to Thangsing and then to Lamuney are no less.. Whoever is planning on this trek, have fun guys!!
Can't agree more on shortening the trek to Viewpoint 1. When I did this trek back in 2013, we went all the way to vp2 but it was very tiring to wake up at 1am, and then trek all the way to vp2 and descend all the way down to Kokchurang.
Reason of not getting permitted from viewpoint 1 is because of pollution only. Goechela is suppose to be a holy place and people often pollute the environment which infact considered to be polluting the deities. Govt of sikkim/Tourism dept has stopped the further trek from V1.
Hey Guys, Can you do an exclusive video on the characteristic map-drawings of IndiaHikes' Treks? They are so lovely and I'm really curious to know who is/are behind that effort.
That was nicely done. Before finding this video I was looking at the pass on Google Earth and thought "That's the place to go." I am sad to learn that you cannot go there any more.
I am a Delhi Probashi Bengali Travel Content Creator, I am looking for this goechala Base camp trek along with the All view points, We are two and looking for a best budget for this trip. What would be the Trip Cost and Best month for clear sky -without rain?
Something not related to this vlog, but, are you not open to 40 plus candidates joining your team even if they are highly motivated and passionate about nature ? I am talking about working at indiahikes. Thanks
Yes, October better than September. At the moment, Sikkim is open to travellers, but it's hard to predict what the situation will be in Sept / OCtober. So better to keep track of their official tourism and Twitter pages to remain up to date
The last campsite is Thansig..it is near to Samiti lake..so if we start trek from there early morning...both view point 1 and samiti lake can be covered and spend lot of time there..as there is a ban on view point 3, no need to worry about samiti campsite
Good question, because timing is everything for the Goechala trek. The best time to do it would be either in summer or in autumn. That's between mid-April and end of May or in the month of October. If you want to see the rhodos, then you'll have to go in summer. But if you'd like to see the colours and strikingly clear views, then autumn is the season. Our recommendation is to see it in both the seasons. :)
@@adityabhutia007 it was heaven. I would recommend to choose good hike company. Have all the health kit. And be prepared its hard trek at least for me 😅
Why !!! Why did they do it? It is completely on the trekkers whether they will do the pass or not, your reason is not plausible and I think it must the locals who are unwilling to travel.
I have asked this before but seriously, why do you use imperial measurements? Is this for Americans or for rest of the world? Please convert feet into meters. I have heard of 8000ers not 26000ers.
