I mean there is a reason he has a fanbase piccolo is just awesome and he’s a good guy too in many ways he did beat goku he’s become more selfless because of gohan I can’t see myself not liking piccolo he grew as a person instead of what he was bred for he’s the ultimate android

Me too. Most the Z fighters were Goku's rivals sometimes foes at times he fought them. They all developed throughout the series. Piccolo's development is unique. The son of his former enemy and tournament opponent made such an impact on him.

Kinda funny how I just remmebered how he's similar to Piccolo here: A being from another planet, yet born and raised on Earth. Just how Goku once said he was a Born Saiyan raised on Earth, Piccolo is a Born Namekian raised on Earth. It's a bit sad that his wasn't as kind to him as it was on Goku, despite story reasons, but I'm glad he at least had Earth grow on him ever since the Raditz incident.

Yes, he basically is. Also, I put the black dot because it represents piccolo being apart of the minority of black anime characters who deserve the recognition they get, despite him being green. You know, Afro Samurai, Avdol from JJBA, Killer bee from naruto and so on so forth. But Piccolo best describes how it was, and kinda how it still is, to be black in America

Many love to bash the OG Funi dub for going off script but sometimes, in doing so it gave us poignant lines like this. We obviously still have a LONG way to go in fighting AND defeating WS and the hatred it breeds but I'd like to think this sewed a seed in the heads of the millions of us that watched this show back in the day.
This is honestly one of the clips that has stuck with me the most out of all of Z. I've got two younger brothers who were born in Ethiopia but raised alongside the rest of my family who are all from small town Pennsylvania and Maryland.
That is why piccolo is hands down the greatest character in the entirety of all of DB, DBZ, GT, and DBS. Akira Toriyama definitely made one of, if not the most, influential characters in all of anime and that’s why piccolo was his absolute favorite 🙏🙏🙏.

The funniest fact about Piccolo's character through all of the DBZ saga, according to the manga, was that he was only like 2-3 years old during this time, yet one of the wisest beings on earth, especially after all the other Nameks left. Crazy dynamic of the Namek race 😅

Piccolo's such a wiener in the dub. In the original the reason why he didn't go back with the Namekians is because their peaceful life was too boring for him, and he liked to fight.
