@@johntheanimator4317 I don't think having children counts as a power, he couldn't control it and it was something that happens to the species after a certain amount of years (I forgot how many)
The original placed some emphasis on Ben training and experimenting with his aliens but it feels like by omniverse, that concept is gone entirely. He seems to want to go for the big punchy guys even more than he did as a 10 year old and just wings it if he doesn't get what he originally wanted. It doesn't feel like he's spent time as the less popular aliens and knows how to use them in creative and unconventional ways through experience.
@@_S_P_A_C_E_M_A_N_ That was also partially due to CN restricting the aliens that could be used. Only aliens with toys that sold well could be shown often and the rest didn't really matter, it's why cool aliens like Lodestar or Brainstorm only had one off appearances or others like Fastrack or Chamalien never appeared.
@@paracame8162 photographic memory isn't kinetic memory, there's a difference between pulling off a stunt once and being able to do it consistantly. especially when also balancing so many tasks including not killing your opponent.
The one power Ben never utilised was amphibian’s ability to read minds. Could have been useful for many situations, it’s a shame the show treated him as another alien who uses electricity.
the writers should def check the wiki on every alien they are going to use in the episodes, then they can show the true potential of every alien without forgetting there full powers
@@TheInkTank He only has the backup of Petropia, which is what he’s reconstructing from, but if he had other planets in his crystal then he could probably bring them back with the right alignments. Maybe it’s something like Stargate where each planet has a corresponding alignment.
5:22 Easy thing to miss, but Ben has done the name firework with Heatblast, too… offscreen. (When Gwen did it in that episode, he says that it took him a month to learn how to do it, but that’s proof that he’s at least done it once before)
@@TheInkTankI know not in the And the original continuity buy in the reboot SURGE it's powers are only used once And I might be wrong but VILLG axe as ability to use his tentacles was only used in his debute I know this probably don't count but it's tough fun to point out
If the writers forgot about most of these powers, I think it's safe to assume Ben himself would have forgotten them too. It's alot of powers to keep track of, so it's not really surprising if he forgets alot of them in the heat of a fight. Also, Zs'skayr's underused powers might be less forgetting to use them and more about Ben being afraid to overuse Ghostfreak after he escaped.
No way! Ben saves the universe with these powers, the writes just get paid to write and their check is the same if they remember or not. There's literally no pressure for them to remember. Ben literally depends on each one of those random powers.
@@PPrexor-qk9vq I don't know man Ben would Rather use Four Arms or Humungosaur over any other alien. It's plausible besides with over 1 million Alien dna you'd forgot too. The writers certainly did.

I feel like the writers just didn't utilize these abilities because they either forget, or thought they would've made the fight less climatic as some of these are genuinely powerful.
Or maybe because they keep adding so many aliens, they have to make each one less diverse to excuse the existence of others. This is why classic and af had the most versatile aliens.
@@HMNCLunar How would you counter a 16 year old who has 1000 powers at his disposal and there is about nothing you can do to stop him from using there powers and he doesnt even know what power he will get next or be using but for some reason he already knows how to make use of and beats your ass while your still questing who even is this kid and what just happened
I think ultimate chromastone should be given the ability of matter creation. Where the more energy they absorb the more they can create something like how he recreated his home planet.
@@dilloon7626 not a weakness more so how much he creates or the quality of what he creates is dependant on how much energy he absorbs. And he’d lose his energy redirecting abilities so he can’t shoot energy back out anymore, only absorb and create.
Honestly Ben is the perfect embodiment of "Just because you can doesn't mean you should" especially after he mastered Alien X where he could literally do whatever he wants yet choose not to, probably because he enjoy being a hero and kicking bad guys ass at it's own.
@@mayotango1317In Universe vs Tennyson he took control of Alien X and only used him one more time in Weapon XI. Really shows how far he's come from just using his heavy hitters to hit heavily
I think for the powers other aliens have used Ben might actually have to train himself to use. If he had Master Control he could probably master Ampfibian’s mind reading through extensive training. According to DJW Snare-Oh’s species can perform magic that is similar to Egyptian curses but Ben can’t stay transformed long enough to properly use them and learn them without Master Control. I think there are several abilities he can refine if he gains Master Control.
I think you have a point. Some are like with skills you have to practice but i think the omnitrix may be the cause of this too. The omnitrix has a vast abilities we can't even take a swing at. It has been hint to have a will of it's own. So maybe it gives Ben hints at he powers and skills of aliens like a trainer mode. It may even be the watch changing the aliens to have those skills. There was the ultimatrix. So this would not be out of reach. Also it give aliens clothes and armor. Which is funny when it does not.
I don't think so. Training a couple of hours some days, like some people, could be enough to master Alien's powers. But Ben rarely uses the omnitrix if it's not to saves somebody. ...My opinion.
@@Brandon-9 Not that I disagree with you, but the omnitrix also has a cooldown time, so randomly using it throughout the day may be risky if it's recharging when you actually need it. Also, the omnitrix has ben shown to malfunction/broke due to various circumstances (some caused by Ben), so increasing the times he uses it, could also increase the chances the omnitrix gets fucked up.
3:02 The Ditto tranformation no longer needing to them fuse can probably be attributed to the new updated omnitrix in Omniverse but at the same time if it isn't confirmed anywhere you could probably argue that's headcannon.
Wasn't Ben not being able to revert to human form because the Ditto's got separated also one of the driving conflicts for Ditto's introductory episode? I could see it being an omnitrix upgrade but it does change Ditto's traits/ limitations a bit.
@@snowboundwhale6860 That's a pretty good point but even in the original the Dittos still got drawn together before they turn back which doesn't appear to happen in Omniverse. They appear to disapear when Ben transforms back. This is not to completely disregard your point however since I think someone could potantially make the argument that the only reason the disappeared like that in Omniverse was because of a combination of the updated Omnitrix and proximity and had they been further things might have played out differently so that is a decent point but I guess I could see it going either way to be honest. Either the new Omnitrix is just less glitchy and doesn't have strict requirements like that or the Dittos were just close enough for it to work. I'm leaning more towards the idea that it's moreso the new Omnitrix but your point holds a lot of weight too.
The Terraspin being immune to magic is literally forgotten about by the time the ultimate kevin arc happens when ben goes to fight gwen she uses a spell to fight against terraspin also i feel like the malware feedback thing could have been something only malware could preform as he isnt 100% the same as upgrade.
5:23 if I remember correctly, Ben did say he could do the spelling his name with fire thing too, but that it took him a month to figure it out. We never actually see him do it tho. But still
There was this one time in the Omniverse episode "Rook Tales" where Bloxx gets shattered and, instead of growing new parts like normal, his shattered pieces float off the ground and reassemble, and another time in "Arrested Development, he sheds his lower half like a lizard sheds its tail. I don't know if those strictly count, I think one of those is just an animation error. You should defo check out the comics for weird one-off powers btw, those things get WEIRD.
I don’t remember where but they actually explain that the reason Ben can’t do the thing Ship does as Upgrade is because of an Omnitrix feature that resets the aliens DNA when Ben reverts to human form. While normal Galvanic Mechamorphs can remember forms they’ve taken and transform back into them, Ben can’t do this since when Upgrades DNA is reset it also erases his databank of machines he’s upgraded
Yeah but clockwork have 16 years, and most of the time he is not even clockwork, and maltruant have thousands of thousands of years of being a chronosapien
I think it's in character for Ben to just forget about powers sometimes. The omnitrix handles instincts and powers itself so any transformation knows what to do, but Ben has to remember which powers are useful to decide to use that transformation. We know he takes dangerous situations seriously, but he doesn't seem to practice using transformations very often and will default to more gimmicky forms and fighting styles when improvising. This is probably why Ben 10,000 is so powerful in his time, maybe when he became more mature he actually took the time to learn all his powers.
I always had this idea that swampfire could use the plants he generates with his seeds to wrap or fuse them into his body, which would increase his physical stats.
Wildmutt's quill attack is actually shown in the Cartoon Network Action Packs comics. Xlr8 is also shown with a static shock ability, and Ripjaws is shown with a water shooting ability like a whale.
5:05 - I mean they showed that the transformations can be removed from the Omnitrix back in UAF, so I presume that Malware is just forcibly causing that to happen via tech-powers
A couple of interesting one off "powers" that are more up for debate than established: In Monster Weather, Fourarms uses 2 guitars at once. Not sure if this is really a power since it isn't really precedented, but I imagine it is like some sort of vertical ambidextrity or something basically meaning he has competent dexterity with both sets of arms in coordination and can more effectively multitask, meaning he could effectively wield advanced or even simple weapons to great effect. In Side Effects, Ben gets sick and gets unique powers for Heatblast. It could potentially be possible for him to access that specific form again if the Omnitrix saved the pathogen's DNA. Ken 10 was able to modify the Omnitrix while in a transformation, something rarely seen again and never utilized by Ben as Greymatter to my knowledge.
Ben 10 and 23 did something similar to what Ken did, only they tampered with each other's Omnitrix instead of their own. It's actually kinda weird that Ken did that because it seems the Omnitrix is intentionally placed on Grey Matter's back to prevent it
4:07 Actually, no he can't. And neither can Chromastone. In the episode, petropia was only able to be restored because Chromastone had a record of its entire structure encoded within him.
1:10 the ghostfreak move i believe is that after his intangible hands in thumbskulls head, he made them tangible again. So ghostfreaks tangible hands were touching thumbskulls brain.
5:21 - I think there’s a creator’s interview that stated that ship was not so much spawned from the Mechamorph, more of stored inside him and then released.
I always thought XLR8' claws were one of the most underused abilities of the aliens . I really love XLR8' design and how you could see that every part of him is streamlined and everytime I see XLR8 or any other of his species I think about how deadly there claws actually are when traveling at high speeds, they could literary sting you into pieces. I think it it's so cool wich is also one reason I don't like the reboot design for him
yeah, why doesn't the guy who doesn't want to have PTSD from murder use the giant claws that would leave his enemy looking like they were shot with a sniper rifle? why does the guy with a photographic memory never try reading the minds of people who want him dead, or so forth. most of this is him being against killing guys and being traumatized.
@@stm7810 bro I never said I want to see Ben shred someone to pieces. Also remember in classic when we first met Ben 10.000 and he straight up demolished that Rhino sucker while being XLR8, I don't think he got thru that armour by fucking tackling him. I just sad I think his claws are underused as fuck, like a little scene were Ben would mess around with XLR8 and try to grab something and just puncturing it by accident would have been nice or Kevin being like "use XLR8 to make short work of this guy" and Ben then saying something like "No XLR8' claws are to deadly for someone without strong resistance". And Ben has shown that he would be willing to kill someone if he has to he literary threatend to kill the Forever-Knights if they don't stop their bullshit. Just 'cause he tries not to kill doesn't mean he would never do it or do think he was bluffing in that scene? He also tried to and almost did kill Kevin by fucking crushing his head with a sonic blast. He tried to kill Zs'Skayr (Ghostfreak) by torturing him to death with daylight MULTIPLE TIMES! He also killed multiple Eons (I don't know if that counts since Eon is Ben so therefor it would technically be suicide but still he did it) He tried to and actually did kill Malware many times. He definitely killed that Vampire lord from the Anur-Arc and he threw a fucking big bang at Maltruant to kill him. And that's only the big guys Ben tried to or straight up killed. I didn't even mention one of the countless minion type enemies like the DNAliens (and yeah he killed some of those for sure when freezing the with Big-Chill and cutting of there Oxygen supply) or the one-off enemies like that fungus ass motherfucker from the first appearance of Wildvine that Ben definitely killed by poisoning him So don't come at me with this passiv aggressive "oh yeah why doesn't he..." bullshit okay. and don't act like Ben is a little kid that gets traumatized from some shit like that. If the death of his entire fucking universe and then just copy pasting a new one doesn't bother him like at all killing someone who deserves it sure as shit won't!
The og show broke his design and gave him fists on multiple occasions so he could punch people. I get why the reboot did that cause his claws are something he never used a lot, but the problem is that he rarely punches people in there(unless you count kevin punching shockrock as rush).
The levitation of ditto could have been a byproduct of the Omnitrix being the prototype. And the reason the complete version doesn't do that is because its creator fix the problems that came from the clones being too far apart. Possibly even stopping the user's ability to make an army of clones that can wield different froms
I like the idea that Ben actually has access to all of these abilities, but they require constant practice or a connection with the alien that he can’t really afford time for because of how many he uses at once. You could cite classic Ben 10,000 as an example of that, with how while he demonstrates some clear skill with the forms he also only uses them for specific purposes for efficiencies sake.
One Power I can think of for Upgrade (that ben only used once) was upgrading and controlling technology without full on merging with it (Done to a Zombie-clown-ified Rook's Prodotool at the start of the Galactic monsters section of Omniverse).
*Ben* not using *Amphibian’s Telepathic* powers always annoyed me. Like Dude, you have a good way to know when your enemies lie and you just not gonna used it. 🙃

Really great video, it's interesting how often all of these powers end up forgotten, I always think the writers tend to forget or due to time, but it makes sense for Ben to forget imo
While some of these powers could give Ben an easy win, it would be good for writers to put Ben in situations where he just can't become an alien to solve a problem and has to be creative
@@vakk985 Sometimes it works but other times it's just for jokes to the point of dragging the concept into nothing Like it doesn't really and fully add to ben's creative mind but rather dumb him down like he can't even think to master his own skill or make his actions logical in human and alien form And the end its just a way of nerfing him for no reason
Considering Upgrade can use constructs and travel through power lines it would be cool if ship and Glitch did. Especially if Glitch could make constructs based on the DNA he assimilates.
In alien X defense it was explained he still needs to convince Belicus and serena and he just got better at it so when he was fighting the rooters that's pretty much what was happening and for Amphibian I think it was stated he doesn't know how to do his very op powers like mind reading so I think its implied his knowledge on the aliens requires some level of training to know what they can or can't do when he turned into Snare-oh he said he outright forgot what he does but it also goes with the fact that ben doesn't think things through often times
I mean if you had over 1 million different transformations you'd probably forget a good chunk of them exist. Which explains why Ben's always trying to be Humangosaur or Fourarms
Honestly he could've hung out with the species of the aliens he can turn into and get stronger from them, like he could have trained as Diamondhead with Tetrax to unlock Diamondhead's full potential, Trained as Chromastone with Sugilite to unlock Chromastone's full potential, trained as Humongasaur with Hugh to unlock Humongasaur's full potential, trained as Grey Matter with Azmuth to unlock Grey Matter's full potential, trained as Terraspin with Galapagus to unlock Terraspin's full potential, trained as Water Hazard with Bivalvan to unlock Water Hazard's full potential, trained as Amphibian with Ra'ad to unlock Amphibian's full potential, trained as NRG with P'andor to unlock NRG's full potential, trained as Armodrillo with Andreas to unlock Armodrillo's full potential, trained as Spidermonkey with Simian (pr any other Arachnichimp since he went to their planet before) to unlock Spidermokey's full potential, trained as Upchuck with any Gourmand to unlock Upchuck's full potential, trained as Upgrade with any Galvanic Mechamorph to unlock Upgrade's full potential, etc
You forgot Swampfire's stretchy arm, but he could've just rebuilt his mulched up body into an extra long arm to catch Goop before reforming himself as he retracted it. Upgrade was able to enter, and bring people into, digital space, as well as upgrade objects within it as if they had a physical form. Objects brought in also persist long after he turned back.
yes and that required the energy of a lightning bolt, usually he doesn't have 1.21 gigawatts lying around for an otherwise useless skill that risks dying of someone just turning the game off.
If I remember correctly, Jet Ray and Way Big's sudden superspeeds were both "Ultimatrix glitches", but knowing the tendency of writer statements to contradict each other and the confidency Ben had in using those abilities, it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Waybig's super speed may not have been a Glitch. As Albedo using way big has been shown able to go this fast for 3 days. He was able to go from the edge of the Galaxy to Earth which at the smallest point, should be little over 20,000 Light Years. This is considering he took the shortest distance from the edge of the Milky way to our Solar System. Same with Jetray as Ben was able to reach another Galaxy as Jetray in 3 hours. I find it hard to believe a glitch would persist that long and be replicable when you don't know its a glitch or aren't looking for it.
@@LucyWest370 All Video Game content is treated as Separate timelines usually. Meaning when it comes towards ways of thinking and objects or people that exist, that can be seen as Non Canon. However when it comes to Bens Abilities, we know anything another of the species can do, he can do, he just never thought of it. So even if a Non Prime Albedo could do it, Ben definitely can too. Plus it would explain how Tokustars get around since being able to make a Galactic Storm as a way of Transport doesn't seem like a stretch when we've already seen he can shoot Lasers from his arms. It's about time Way Big got to be more then just being a Big Gun to everyone.
With Jetray at least I think it’s fair to make him less overpowered, but a giant like Way Big having super speed is just… common ground? Like, isn’t that one of Ultraman’s signature powers? It’s fine.
I feel like with Water hazard, he already didn't use him that much to begin with and the ability to absorb moisture is typically done maliciously vs just absorbing the steam from heated metal.
yeah, I literally can't think of any other instance where he would use it, as it would mostly end up killing the other guy anyway and Ben doesn't kill 99.9%
In The Final Battle Part 1, Albedo (as Swampfire) was able to produce spores from the palm of his hand to knock out Gwen and bring her to Vilgax, but I don’t know if she ever told Ben about how he was able to do that.
It's most likely Albedo uses his superior intellect to fight incredibly excellent as any life form, for example he was able to swiftly defeat both kevin and gwen by instantly figuring out the advanced abilities of both diamondhead and swampfire respectively, later he was able to use the sthrength and abilties of newly transformed ultimate humangasaur to subdue more than hundreds of vilgax's bioids as regular humangsaurs alone at onece although he was eventually outnumbered,my point is given the fact that albedo doesn't being nowhere near any experienced as ben in any of these alien forms but he uses his smarts to fight powerfully, even as his ben clone form(where his physically 100% teenage ben)he onece was able to knock ben out for a short time when both of them human
i think it would be interesting to go over some of the powers that also appear exclusively in the comics even thought they likely aren't canon, like upgrade spreading through the water to manipulate torpedos and the aforementioned wildmutt quills in this video. or maybe a video on the ben 10 comics in general
Jetray breathing underwater is also how Ben survived the trip back up from the bottom of the ocean after Vilgax' ship explodes in the Alien Force finale.
0:12 what do you guys think Chromastone’s other powers are? I think maybe he has the constructs his crystal was able to project, and potentially could heal people with his light, or cloak it around others as a shield/power boost. It might also be interesting if he got physically stronger the more he absorbed. He seems to be able to hold in energy indefinitely, whereas Feedback has to shoot it back out almost immediately.
I really love that droopy mouth they give wildvine, that with his very large eye made him an oddly expressive alien that I always loved to see show expressions.
The only other notable instance of that which I can think of is in Be Afraid of the Dark Part 2, he uses it on Dr Viktor. Weird how it seems like such an iconic ability of Upgrade but gets used so little
Yeah I wish Ben would use some of these would’ve made lots of his fights more interesting. I think for the Z’Skayr power that Ghostfreak used in Thumbskull Ben doesn’t use it cause it’s too violent for him.
A pet peeve of mine is when an ability is used once and never again when it would be so useful in so many situations in the rest of the show. Like in one of my favorite shows, Supernatural, demons can inhabit a vessel forcibly by entering them through the mouth as a cloud of black smoke and leave them by the same method, and some episode in season 8 or 9 a demon tries to escape by smoking away so Sam (main character) says an exorcism backwards which forces it back into its vessel and then kills it, AND THEN ITS NEVER DONE AGAIN
2:20 unless you mean intentionally there was one other time. In a flash back Billy billions tries to send ben to dimension x but the laser Billy was using redirected off diamondhead. Like I said you may have meant intentionally since it clear Ben didn’t even notice it happen. edit: Plus the first episode ben defeated vilgaxs robot by reflecting its beam
Rath's one off move where he creates a shockwave that knocks off anyone on there feet, idk if that move counted as a power but we only see him do it once (also favorite attack by him haha).
You know, I think Diamondhead wasn't able to simply absorb the energy, but the light itself from it. This is due to Diamondhead being a crystalline silicon-based life form and as such capable of refracting photon energy through his body.
S1 E12 “Side Effects”, When Ben got sick, it also affected some of his aliens like Wildmutt unable to use his senses or Four Arms becoming a stinky ass mess. There was Cryoblast (What I call Heatblast with Ice Powers) where Ben utilizes sick Heatblast against Clancy & used his ice powers to cool a nuclear reactor.
There's an argument to be made that some of these are not "powers" perse, but applications of already existing powers. Ghostfreaks "knock out" move on Thumbskull seems to be less of a "power" and more of a "trick" done with his intangibility.
5:56 they also show Wildmutt’s ability to shoot quills in the Ben 10 Game which was on Sky Gamestar for Sky boxes in the UK. Very obscure so I’ll be surprised if people remember that.
Proctor Servantis is able to alter minds in a number of different ways. Such as creating fake memories. Does that whole Plumbers kids thing count as mind control? I'd say yes. So that means Ben can do that? Could be an useful ability, but a bit morally questionable. We never see Dr Psychobos do that either.
I guess Psychobos was not smart enough to do so, and Ben don't know about this ability yet and I don't think ethically could use it Servantis even as human was pretty clever, manipulative and unethical mastermind, and brainstorm abilities just enhanced it
Per DJW, Servantis had equipment that helped him with that. He also has the unexplained gem-thing on his head, which Brainstorm lacks. But evidentially, it’s important to the memories thing because it’s what Kevin destroyed in WXIP2.
For the Chromastone one, ben can't do it because it was done by taping into the power of a special crystal (the one Tetrax stole for Vilgax years ago) and by Vilgax own words, they used all the crystal powers to bring back Petropia and the Petra Sapiens
true, like Way Big's super speed would be destructive to civilians (that's why he did that in the ocean) and Jetray's hyperspace can only let Ben travel and he is mostly on a team so others wouldn't be able to travel with him
