Final Gohan = SSJ2+Mystic form,I like to think of it similar to gokus SSB+Kaioken form.

I think they had Piccolo change color because they felt sorry for him for not catching up with Goku. Just like people felt sorry for Gohan for not taking over the spotlight, and be the new hero in his father's place.

I now like how saiyans have growth spurts, or why gohan can't catch, and piccolo cant drive do to never getting his license 🤣

Definitely was thinking the same thing! His speed and combat prowess reeks of UI. His overall bravado and battle hungry personality lines up with UE. His overall tone is reminiscent of SSJ2 but with the polish of Ultimate/Mystic Gohan.

Okay Humans have meaning different emotions mix the two you have a extreme power boost and Gohan. Who has become more enraged than any other character in the whole serie.

goku was also being lead towards UI his entire life, roshi taught him the true blue basics, mr.popo a being who was born in otherworld and sent to earth taught him to move faster than lightning but be as calm and quiet as the sky, korin taught him how to control his breathing, king kai taught him how to properly control ki (kai-o ken) and obviously whis taught him to try and allow his body to move on its own. and all of these masters also told him to build his mind as well as his body

@@justajobro1266 sure man , but that being said I thought it could be that in this form we get to see more of his saiyan side to him flourish being battle hungry what have you, and being able to decisively kill his opponent. Where as the gohan we know suppresses a lot of his saiyan traits and is more human in nature. Hence his yin and Yang that ultimately makes him the one with the most potential as Vegita puts it the half saiyans..

Cell was almost a human being in a way he had a personality was able to talk and stuff but cell max was not he was actually a braindead savage which low key made him more like a monster so I understand why there wasn’t hesitation for gohan

Nice observation. Gohan DOES tend to get a bit cocky whenever he gets a significant power boost like this. Just goes to show that he's matured a lot since he first went Super Saiyan 2.

@@InnovativeJdawg Part of his cockiness here wasn't just his own power growth, it was the sheer gap in power between his current self and his opponent. Look at the way Gohan tanked Cell Max' full power punch and didn't budge a millimeter. I read somewhere that in the storyboard or Toriyama's notes or something that the reason Cell Max made that last ditch giant blast was out of terror of Gohan's Power. Beast Gohan is at least twice as powerful as Cell Max (who is enough more powerful than Broly that Broly would have no chance if Cell Max had a fully developed mind) but we honestly have no way to measure just how high that power gap really is

There's definitely a lot of fanservice in this movie and I love it. It's always great when a movie can incorporate plenty of fanservice but not have it overpower the plot.

But maybe this time, rather than simplifying the name, they should take the time and make it sound more "cool" and "official" Orange Piccolo is a fine name I guess, but Ajisa would be pretty cool.

No that will most likely be Broly, he has the humanoid Great Ape form already. Gohan said he wants to evolve as a human, not a Saiyan.

Gohan and Broly seem to be the two most likely candidates for a canonical version of Super Saiyan 4. Regardless of who gets it, it would be really cool to see them interact and train with each other.

@@Moshuun his potential comes from his human side, not his Saiyan side. going the SSJ4 route and using Oozaru would go against that. he doesn't need Oozaru to be strong, his own unlocked potential is enough.

When I saw the movie in theaters, there were a few people who got extremely hype over it because they hadn't seen the spoilers. It was a great experience, I loved seeing everybody get hype for Gohan again

this is the correct explanation, Toriyama said Beast is based on the sort of awakenings Gohan had as a boy. So it's likely Ultimate multiplied by his rage ability from when he was a kid.

@@mohitnair2541 also a theory that gohans mystic form is a similar version of gokus ultra Instinct because both transformations is a form of the angels. via the white hair. i believe that when gohan uses base mystic (black hair) hes very calm and pesise in his fighting style like goku in UI omen (again black hair). however gohans new mystic form is different because he also has rage which gives him that purple aura like the gods of destruction. so maybe "beast gohan" is perfect mix between the two (angel form and god of destruction). it could be because hes had his protential unleashed several times which is why he can achieve that form. also his human side gives a edge as well.

I like that idea of this form being the physical embodiment of Gohan controlling his rage and turning it into something to amplify his full potential.

@@InnovativeJdawg exactly, this form is Gohan's power and character in one form. He always struggled with releasing his true power, and whenever he did he couldn't control it. This form lets him do both.

He also explained that he was training for something other than super saiyan, hence how he reached this form and not a new super sayain form like he did with super sayain 2,

I remember Piccolo going Giant/Super Namek even if it was not called that in Dragon Ball. An see him going Giant/Super Namek in the movie that was one of the great moments.

Especially how he's treated in super, of all characters Piccolo needed a power boost

I first watched DBZ back in the Mid 90s... It was on the planet namek saga before Goku showed up. Gohan was the main character in the episode I watched. This movie brought me back there.

That's a nice way of looking at it, I actually thought that way too when I first learned about the form. Probably not the exact same thing as SSJB being the "SSJ" version of Super Saiyan God, but maybe the concept is the same. Gohan going Super Saiyan ON TOP of his Ultimate form.

It’s probably a mix of Ultimate Gohan, Super Saiyan, and Gohan’s rage boosts. Like I think it’d make sense if he could only access this form while really pissed off and with no inhibitions.

I still hate that they didn't call the Red form just Saiyan God, so Blue would just be Super Saiyan God.

(There is a TLDR at the bottom) Honestly, my initial though was that he was similar to Broly. Broly is the legendary super saiyan with incredible potential. My thoughts are that Gohans form is something kinda similar, the difference in biology being the reason his form is different. The first reason for this is that, despite both goten and trunks being literal prodigies, both going super saiyan at the ripe ages of 3 and 4, no one talks about their “untapped potential to be the strongest”. Yet this has been repeatedly stated about Gohan, much like people say the same thing about Broly. This makes me think that perhaps Gohan is some sort of legendary half-saiyan. The second reason is because the both have some connection to the great ape form. When Gohan first goes SSJ2 against cell, there is a faint sound of an great ape roar in the background of his yell. It has been stated in DBS: Broly that Broly taps into the great ape form without Turning into a great ape. Beast gohan is clearly a spin on super saiyan 2, which is linked to the great ape. This leads me to think that perhaps this beast form is how gohan is taping into the power of the great ape without turning into one. It would also then make even more sense why his form is called beast gohan. The last reason is because of the places their powers go to. Goku’s ultra instinct is similar to the angel’s power, and Vegeta’s ultra ego similar to the god of destructions powers. Yet both Broly and Gohan, (though Gohans form does look similar to ultra instinct) have no power that they lead into. There are several gods of destruction, and several angels, but only 1 legendary saiyan (in their universe, I keep forgetting Kefla exists) and only 1 beast saiyan. These 2 are one of a kind powers that nobody has seen. A point against this theory is that gohan looks like ultra instinct, so maybe he is just taping into that. The only real counter point to that is flimsy, just that if it was ultra instinct it would be called ultra instinct. Maybe this is ultra instinct and something else combined, a power combination we have only seen gohan do to lead to beast saiyan form. All in all, this is just my little theory on what it is. If gohan isn’t some legendary half-saiyan, it make me hope we will get to see goten and trunks, and see a movie where they get a unique form, even if it isn’t insanely strong. Also, why does no one talk about how they are literal prodigies? Like they achieved something incredible for fun, and Goku nor Vegeta talk about it. Like come on man, show my boys some love for cryin out loud TL:DR: my theory is that gohan is some sort of legendary half-saiyan, just like Broly is the legendary saiyan

I personally thought the fanservice was balanced well enough with the plot and I enjoyed a large chunk of the movie. The beginning felt a bit slow, but I thought the ending was alright

I don't necessarily mean that he'll become a Kaioshin, I just think it's a nice nod to have this form colored after them. The Kaioshins were responsible for unlocking his potential, so in a way, they could be considered Gohan's "teacher" just like how Goku and Vegeta have their forms colored after their respective teachers.

Gohan would be Grand Priest level or a little higher making him a threat and Pan having hidden power like her dad. Also makes her a threat which would lead to the Z Fighters having to fight the G.O.D. and Angels. But somehow they would have to reason with Zeno showing they are not a threat that is why I see the movie also as non-canon.

Orange Piccolo being SSB or Golden Frieza level seems reasonable, I like that idea. Beast Gohan being on the tier of the stronger characters is also very realistic, so seems like you're right!

No not really yellow..The Gamma we're stated to rival Goku and Vegeta... orange Piccolo is beyond blue Goku and Vegeta and even put somewhat of fight against Cell Max. So Orange Piccolo Would Be as Strong as Broly from the previous film

That's a cool concept, a form taking over the mind of the user. We've kinda seen it with the SSJ Berserk form in Dragon Ball Heroes, but that'd be a cool thing to see at some point in the main series.

Nah. Gohan got back his mystic form after he trained with piccolo and goku. Gohan at age 11 was already stronger than ssj goku and vegeta and was the only one to get ssj2 for years! Until the buu saga came and vegeta and goku mastered ssj2 and goku with 3. Even then it was stated Mystic Gohan was stronger than SSJ3 goku. Gohan always had the potential piccolo stressed this a thousand times in the movie. Gohan knocked out radiz with a head but at the age of 6. Listen to your self my man. Gohan not suppose to be himself and be the OP character Goku risked his life for Gohan to achieve?

I agree that sometimes, it sucks that Gohan (and Future Trunks to an extent) can just asspull forms and become stronger than the characters who train each and every day. But I can also see that there's big story significance behind each time they asspull a form because they're hybrid saiyans and are known to have higher potential.

After the Tournament of Power, which is where the anime ended, the Dragon Ball Super manga never ended, so there's been two more story arcs that anime-watchers haven't seen yet. The Moro arc and the Granolah Arcs haven't been animated yet, so I highly recommend checking out the manga if you haven't. The Moro Arc starts on Chapter 42.

@@InnovativeJdawg I think that is what is coming Gohan battled Freeza as a kid. An Freeza feared his power and was going to kill Gohan as a kid cause Gohan hurt him.

It's most likely a similar concept. He transformed as a result of rage, so his power broke through the potential that was already unlocked by the Kaioshins.
