But that was clearly because gohan is strong and satan is weak. Vegeta was implying it saying why you saved a weakling instead of your son. I mean how can this be interrupted as respect. Every character from cell to everyone else was shcoked. It was truely shocking moment becauaw gohan reached a new level. I dont see any particualy meaning in that. Regarding vegeta recogniztion of gohan potential. That would be silly of me to reject it. He did recognize it. Funny thing. The first time he did that was when nappa fighting. That vegeta at that time was pure evil.

@@stoppostingaboutballer6291Whether he forgot on not has nothing to do with it. Gohan just didn't have an incentive to not try to save Vegeta at that moment. And it's not in his character to willingly let an "ally" die in front of him because of a grudge.
In the beginning Vegeta was just 1 feet taller than Gohan 😂😂, just to make a good couple of bulma and vegeta they made that dwarf a bit taller later😂🤣🤣
And Gohan is the only character that Vegeta apologized to twice there's always been respect their. Not at first obviously but also frustration respect and frustration from Vegeta because he witnessed how strong Gohan was. Then he let all that strength and potential slip away if anything Vegeta is just like a strict Big Brother/Uncle to Gohan.
The most ridiculous thing is literally the next scene with these characters after Vegeta absolutely beats the shit out of Gohan, Bulma goes up to Vegeta and gets her flirt on with him for the first time.

He changed his ways much before Gohan saved him and he saved Gohan life on multiplaye occasion before Gohan saved him. He fought on Namek and risked his life to save Gohan for example, he also was killing his past companion cus he knew they would use Gohan as hostage to win against Goku
Because it really wasn’t anything personal. Gohan and vegeta were just fighting like men, or rather like saiyans. That’s why piccolo let them fight. He was letting gohan stand on business until vegeta took it took far.
Gohan was arrogant, but at that moment he became humble, risking his body in exchange for saving the vegeta, if he were the Gohan from before (soon after winning the ssj2) he would never have done it, but his father's death opened his eyes
I don't think it's true that the arrogant Gohan before this scene wouldn't have tried to save Vegeta. He killed all of the Cell Jrs because they hurt all of his family/friends/Vegeta. Why would he not try to save Vegeta even while carrying that same vengeful, arrogant attitude?
Gohan saved Vegeta because the amount of character Growth Vegeta had shown between the end of the Namek Saga and Cell Saga justified risking his life. Not just because Gohan wanted to save everybody, and not because Vegeta was a "good" person. Vegeta earned the respect of his former foes by investing in their planet enough to settle down there and fight for it.
To be honest Vegeta invested in Earth 🌎 by default. He was waiting for Goku to fight him 1 day. They wished him accidentally back by default being 1 of the people Frieza killed then moved to planet Earth. Vegeta was waiting for Goku but a bigger threat 💪 was coming which were the Androids. Vegeta being a Saiyan couldn't let go of a Challenge & wanted to fight them. But still there was no choice if he didn't they were going to rule the world. But since he liked fighting it was a plus. Finally he started a relationship with Bulma & fell ❤ for her. Had a family ❤ & became friends with the Z warriors.

Vegeta saved Gohan so many times. This is respect & pay back. He saved Gohan from the ginyu force and they just watched him get beat, same with Frieza, Vegeta saved Gohan from him and Krillin, Piccolo, & Gohan just watched him get his ass beat.
A few scenes later Vegeta's super Saiyan transformation music kick's in Then cell gets hit with a strong blast Cell: Vegeta?!? Goku: Now Gohan Now!!!! Gohan: Haaaaaaa!!!!
It may show, but gohan has earned Vegeta’s respect, and acknowledges gohan’s potential and strength. He knew he was destined for great potential out him and his pops. He was the only that was highly pissed of his lack of training. And how he despised of what saw in Gohan Black.
It's honestly not possible that Gohan would grow up to be the adult we saw. The boy has spend years fending for himself in the wilderness, fist fighting grown men and monsters, being beaten within and inch of his life multiple times and finally watched his dad die be for his eyes A goofy nerd that kind of life does not make. He wasn't even a goofy nerd as a kid
