The sagebrush desert of the South Okanagan is a unique place and stacked with history. In this video I visit an underground gold mine in Osoyoos BC, which has been preserved as critical bat habitat for Townsend's Big-Eared bats. They roost and hibernate in caves and abandoned mines, so it's important not to destroy or block off the old mine. This is the first time I've seen bats in a mine I explored, which was interesting. The mine is called the Lakeview-Dividend. Filmed in 2019.
