@@MatchFishingFilms hi i have the new inception which i love but to pay extra for the base unit was a kick to the bollocks tbf. Great box however i dont know if this has come up but it has a major flaw to the design, the shoulder strap can and has got stuck in the foot plate release tabs causeing one to break off. I found this out myself. You have to make sure its not snagged before picking it up. I would love to hear back from you on this.
@@MatchFishingFilms no mate ive seen that one. Im meaning the new inception box. I fancyd sumat new at the time knowing about the box you had but fancyed a change in looks. On the new inception its the tabs what you pull out n turn what get snagged and break. Im not pulling down this box as its great but it could be something you may need to look at in the future releases
Fishing? It's more of a fashion show these days. However, the best or most expensive gear does not make anybody a better angler. It's overpriced and has negligible impact on the amount of fish we catch. If your a match angler and you turn up on the bank with an old Shakespeare box, people will laugh at you. I must say one thing though, I have never caught as many fish as I did when I was carrying a quarter of the gear that I do now. All today's top anglers will eventually get older, and long for the days they only carried the bare essentials and still caught plenty.
Great box love mine one modification I have done is taken the base off the seat and underneath you can fit 2 preston hook length boxes in the gaps. Use a bit of velcro to secure in place. More storage.👍
Great video, I’ve had my inception box for a year now, I don’t think I would ever change it. Although I may upgrade the seat/cushion for a gel one sometime in the future. If your a big lad/lass the foam will compress overtime with use. As you said most accessory attachments come with inserts which are no trouble and you can interchange your seat stack system for different situations/venues. For what you get and what you can do with them they are probably the best value boxes on the market.
Unfortunatly i had to sell my Inception box, i was forever sinking lower and lower throughout the session. the clamps on the legs were as tight as i could get them. However it looks like the Inception is no good for people of large build. Shame as i cant afford a larger box.
Don’t forget the ultimate accessory to fit larger kit and all the luggage is the van which is out of reach for most. Good to know PI now thinking more in terms of the customer and not just as consumers.
Joe, I’ve had my inception for 2 years. It’s absolutely brilliant. Granted the absolute 36 is made of a better material but for the price, weight and practicality it’s first class. Added an extra draw and sadly had to purchase 2 fully telescopic legs as they don’t come as standard.
May be preston should consider selling this box with the same draw configuration as you have. I feel this would make it more appealing to the market. Bridges the gap between the standard inception and the 150 version. Great video, as always👍
Been using my SL30 for near four years now! Just added a 26mm tray for winders. Plenty of space for everything and it's lighter and smaller than my old Space Station. I cannot fault it at all.
I can understand everything you said Joe as I was exactly the same before I retired my Shakespeare box a while ago as I carried most of what I needed in my box including 2 small side trays and then just took a small coolbag with bait and drink in and my rod holdall and netbag, I'm now saving for a new seat box and wondered if you would recommend the box you use for someone on the larger side weight size
Have one of these boxes joe I think there absolutely brilliant like you said loads of room I also bought the 360 chair which when fishing the margins is brilliant just swivel around great when you've had 4 back operations
Used to love my old Shakespeare knock-off Leeda pond filter box, swallowed enough gear to not really need any carryall, and cause the odd wince from my back. Of course the downside to those style boxes was we only had spindly 16mm Octoplus leg kits to fit (still have my old mainframe XL tucked away actually). Been trying to decide on something better than my cheap old chair for a few months now, the 3D 150's high on my list, but I'm distracted by these modern feeder chairs.
I was given a daiwa plastic seatbox last year with octoplus legs. I've since upgraded it with attachments. I don't use it much as i tend to fish rivers but its great when I wanna be sat all day...Will pass it on to my lad aswell haha
I understand your way of thinking. Now as my fishing has changed to pleasure oriented I literally have a side tray, two pull out front drawers and one very deep drawer. Bait, side try, food n drink go in a carryall with l/net. If I could get a double deep box I could loose that carryall as well I’m sure lol.
Joe I has the inception sl30 box great box I have to admit suited my needs but I did not like the size of the footplate I replaced it with another box very similar design but is heavier than the sl30 but suits my needs better
I've recently got the inception 3D 150 seat box best buy I've made for me a few modifications to suit a tackle tart but love it, one thing I would like to see is a kaiser foam for the deep compartment to slot the reels in, I made my own and it's stopped the reels from rattling around and getting damaged,
Evening Joe.. A year on! But just trying to look around and seeing what's what regarding seat boxes and it dragged me here. Anyhoo...Fed up of dragging my Nash chair ( lovely and ...so comfortable it maybe so) round and tons of other stuff to fish the rivers, I just want something that'll get me comfortable on the bank, hold a fair bit of gear yet comfortable to carry if not using my barrow.. some of my viewings have led me to ...Preston Inception 3D 150, looks a decent bit of kit, holds loads....As I've no use for pole winders ( none of that stuff for me lad) it means a bit more proper fishing kit can be stuck in there...What you reckon?
Great Vid, I have had an Inception for a while now, However now that i cannot drive (eyesight issues). I have had to downsize to to a smaller backpack style one. Can you consider doing a vid in the future on these smaller type of Box/carry All's.. Trust me I would not wish any other Fishermen the same problems that i had to remain Fishing. .Thanks Mate.
had my inception about 3 seasons now. upgraded with extra deep drawer unit as per yours. fantastic product. i have fitted a cut down accessory bar across the back legs to help balance on a non-preston trolley. I wish you did an optional bar for the back for this very reason. great box though.
Thanks for the video Joe, looks a great box! I like the winder idea too. Im just wondering if my German made Vuctis Treeshk kits will fit? I’m sure they will. Thanks again Joe. Laurie
Hi Joe. Perfect timing with this video. I’ve found out today that I have lost one of the bottom feet out of the extending legs without noticing. Is this available as a spare from Preston or do you need to buy the whole leg
Hi Joe, I like that clip (that snaplock that is attached to the seatbox leg) that you use to "fix" your the landing net, but I can't seem to find the right Preston product code for it. I have the P0110027 (Preston Offbox 36 KeepNet Arm, Short), but this is not the same as the one that you are using. Can you please tell me that Preston code or how to find it in some online store ?
Hi @matchfishingfilms, I just got a Inception SL30 and its mint!! Still yet to take it out on its maiden voyage... But thought I'd do some more research on set ups etc and found this video, one thing that puzzles me is the under seat storage, I have the draw and the deep under seat storage but not the part directly under the seat... is it a different model that you are showcasing in this video - Cheers in advance
@@MatchFishingFilms Cheers for your reply dude but I meant the space directly under the seat/lid, you lift the foam seat off - you show it at 4m 13s in to the video any ideas..?
Great vid lookin at the inception seatbox I was wondering bc I was thinking about gettin it as my first proper seat box and I was thinking would u be not better off putting the the 2 extending legs at the front on back then extend all 4 up let front ones go down or is that not possible
I have done the same done for a H section Box lighter I am 67 years old it was getting too heavy for me for the conventional type boxes not tried it yet but it’s a lot lighter spa as well
Joe, hi mate, is there any science on why the front 4 legs are telescopic and the rear two are standard? Im thinkin of adding two more telescopic legs to have all 6 the same for total levelling up. Any thoughts on this idea? Laurie
I'm using a matrix s36 , rock solid but most of the time I leave my stacker at home so it just seems pointless . I put a rig rack under the seat in the un used space instead . I want a H - frame but I have not used one since the days when you'd stand on your footplate and the whole box would tilt over 🤣 . I hope modern H frames don't have this issue 🤣
I made the same change last year, mainly because I lost the use of the company van and had to use my car. I started getting home at least half an hour earlier simply because I wasn't packing stuff back into bags! I don't carry my rollers in a bag anymore, what's the point? After a years use without being kept in a bag, they're still like new.
Likewise I bought two daiwa matchman rollers for $50, straight in carryall, were very heavily targeted by marketing half of which is stuff I'm now trying to get rid of, it's got ridiculous really but that's corporate business anyway to keep you buying and Preston are very good at it, they know their market. I bought this box and it cost me £110 to get it how I'd like it however I got the box and trolley for £250 and I do like it. Anyone thinking of buying one be warned it only comes with the mini base and a side drawer there's no under the seat tray. Thanks for the vid Joe.
Hi Joe. I'm looking to purchase one of these but I'm abit concerned with how much weight it can take I weigh 17st and have other lightweight boxes start to slip. Will the box take my weight?
Somebody local to me was selling one of those carbon absolute boxes, but for £1700 I would be terrified of anything happening to it haha.... I'll stick to the Inception station with an extra winder drawer and that gets everything I need for the day in it
I can't believe how hard wearing mine has been tbh. Same goes for all the consultants. Des fishes 4 to 5times per week and his was still good after 4years. Amazing really how good they are
Nah) thanks. But in real life (not on the flat places), low and heavy frame give you an excellent stability. In Inception you will never get similar stability. Footplate have to have contact to all 6 legs on one level (even for 36th legs).
Preston box’s are very poor since they had them made in china.plus putting so much in a box increase’s the weight.if I wanted to carry so much tackle I should put legs on mi wardrobe.
