Trying the new beginner trail that just opened at Snow Summit Bike Park. That was the unofficial Stage 4 of the enduro race ;). The trail still feels "green" as in freshly cut, but after it gets more traffic the dirt should hopefully pack in and improve.

The chairlift makes it so much fun. The cross country trails that you can ride from the lift are also really good if you are in the beginner/intermediate skill level.

@@MTBMOR what other xc trails are there from the lift? Are you talking about fern, pirate and all that? Just bought summer passes to SSBP for my 8y.o. and trying to plan out our rides this summer.

@@cassysamel3914 Yes, and you can ride Skyline, Coyote Rd and Going Green. If you get more adventurous there are a few others, but not all of them will have you return back to the lift. We tend to end on Cabin 89.

@@MTBMOR thanks. From the map it looks like if I can get to Fern, that’ll take me back to the Forest service rd to the park. Not sure the best way to get to Fern from the top.

nice video... haven't ridden in 15 years and jumped back into it! got my kids riding and this will be a good starting trail for them to try something that's groomed and taken care of.

Its a nice trails for beginners like me. Did it twice to get confidence on the second run and actually went a little faster. Then moved on to turtle and party wave then skyline. Going green needs a few little jumps just to get you in the air for a sec or two. Make it a bit more interesting. But over all i had a blast for my first time 10/20/17. It was cold on the lifts.

This trail is in much better condition this year. It rolls better and they added more whoops to pump. That video was recorded when it first opened. I should publish an update.

I'm going there in October! that trail looks pretty easy but what are your opinions on it?

It's good for first time beginners. Snow Summit needed that. And it's long with great views of the lake. My only critique is that it might be missing some 'wow' moments that make you want to ride it again and again, so intermediate riders will want to ride elsewhere -- which might actually be the point.

You are doing great then. when I started MTBing in '90, all we had were hardtails and rode everything on them. Raced the Mammoth Kamakazi on a hard tail. You get instant power to the wheels when pedaling and do not lose anything to bobbing. Your bike skills will be higher due to your hard tail experience.
