Going Home 

I'm 29 yrs old, a wife, mother and a Virginian. I so appreciate that the men of the Civil War are not totally forgotten. I've always been fascinated by that time period and saddened by the sacrifice of those men.

Beautifully assembled from three great movies. You do fine work. I found the late Richard Jordan's portrayal of Lewis Armistead in 'Gettysburg' profoundly moving. It was his last film.

I would say Gods and General and Gettysburg are my all time favorite Civil War movies and this song "Going Home" really does fit this video. Hard to believe it was 150 years ago this year for Antietam and next year for Gettysburg.

Great that turned a 40 year old man into a blubbering wreck, stunning song.

you did a fine job of compiling and editing the images I watch it a lot the last time I saw my son was on the set of the movie -- we worked together there -- I rode with Stonewall and my son was accepted as part of the core group then he went and let the army get him killed in Afghanistan he went once as a marine then as an infantry vehicle commander told him to not go back -- he felt he had to he came home in pieces in a casket - I cry every time I hear this song thank you

This certainly is an absolutely beautiful video you've made. The song is wonderful and you planned the clips perfectly. Glory is my FAVORITE movie of all time, and I could give you the entire script by heart lol. Keep making these videos - they're amazing.

@1943AngelEyes While I agree with, for the most part, in the earlier days of 'Memorial' Day, the Honor WAS celebrated, and the Honor was given, to those who gave their last full measure. It is so sad, that now, it is just another day off from work. Very few, stop, think and pay homage to those who went before us, to give every thing they had to give. This song brings tears to my eyes, as I remember so many, who gave so much, so that we could enjoy the freedom we love and cherish, so much.

Should have included scenes from "North and South" and "The Blue and the Gray" miniseries', but still great as is anyway. Excellent song choice, too :)

I am forced to live in West Virginia Even though the land I stand on was Virginia and my family fought to keep it that way. The eastern panhandle should still be Virginia. The Federals stold it from us! God bless my ancestors that fought for our beloved Virginia!

I first had the video on here from the "God`s and Generals" DVD, with Mary Fahl in it which was quite beUtiful. No longer available. But this is very good also. 18Gettysburg63, at 2:07 into the clip, with the soldiers lined up, there is an elongated light that goes across from right to left. What is it? & where is that scene filmed at?
