I really enjoyed this video of you alone - it made a refreshing change. Health and men in their 50's - have you had your NHS health check? Too many problems start back in your 30's that start manifesting themselves in your 50's; you have to start watching what you eat and what you drink so you go down the path of life in a healthy way and not struggling with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. Your stir fry looked lovely but then the next day when you met Lyndsey you had pie and chips and ordered a super sized chip portion!!! Will watch some more of you and your thoughts and really enjoyed the chat in the car taking your friend to the airport - you are a good interviewer, very natural and worth catching up with. 😊
Thanks Anne. The way I look at it, one healthier meal a week is better than unhealthy meals all the time. I love my food and can’t just cut it completely but if I can introduce a few more healthy meals each week it will all help.
In fairness this guy and his family put a huge amount of effort into videos loads of views and only 38.9k on the main channel of subscribers come on everyone just click the subscribe button give em their due👍
You asked about health and issues. At 56 I had a heart attack, I only survived due to riding a bike frequently and doing at least 10 miles each time I did. I had always eaten healthy, didn’t smoke, was not over weight and was always on the go. You never know what is around the corner and yea you need to loo. after yourselves 👍👍
Health is so important. The Radford are great videographers - we want them around a long time. BUT did you see the 2 large bottles of COKE and Large packet of crisps. Come on Mr R - please, please eat healthily!
Sadly that particular part of the coastline regularly disappears into the sea, it’s very sad. Looking forward to your next vlog, as always. Thank you for sharing your trips and tips.
Following orders Steve! Logged on to second video and did as I was told to come here and watch the first video! More cooking in videos please! Thanks for the vlog, Jo in France 🇫🇷
That brought back memories of late last year, Steve. We stayed at the actual skipsea caravan park and I posted about it in Sam Anderson's crafty camper group and my mate Eddie said why had we not saved money and parked on the coast road behind the site..... and I had to point out the coast road is now on the beach !!!
We’re going that way in early May, Hornsey Road CL for 2 weeks and another time went to Woodlake I think it was called, like that coastline as it’s less crowded. We also had a Tesco stir fry tonight, very nice! Liked your video so have subscribed.
Nice to see you talking about real life issues it is a major problem for many but all that Pepsi in the fridge is making your van go round in circles 🙃
Yep - a pleasant video. Sorry to be personal but you did mention ‘..trying to eat a bit more healthy’ - want that 2 large bottles of coke and a large bag of crisps?! Say no more.
Correct to watch your health as you get older it crashes swiftly. I learnt the hard way, lying in a hospital ICU unit & having a doctor advise me that a helicopter was on its way to take me to larger hospital & did I want a priest or religious figure to fly with me, all this after my wife took me into emergency. After a quad bypass surgery & 2 weeks in that hospital only for a few weeks later having to go back in for blood clots in my lungs & a doctor telling me I should buy a lottery ticket. After recovering from all that then had to have a total knee replacement, been a rough couple of years.
Wow That erosion it looks so bad But still it looks wild and windy there Some of my maternal relatives live in Charmouth and there have been many rock falls over the years - one year over 1000 tonnes I’ve only been to Milton Keynes once around 35 years ago - so many roundabouts The 🇺🇸 don’t have such - just long long long straight roads 🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️👍 👍 😍😍😊
you asked about heart problems. I am 65 raced and ridden push bikes all my life up to 300 miles per week for decades. Commuted 34 miles daily, 5 days a week for 25 years. I still train now. Every other day i ride on zwift at my aerobic threshold for an hour, doing an average of 25 miles per hour usually, with my heart averaging 170 bpm over that hour. The result of all this exercise, always having a life long perfect bmi, a balanced meat containing diet, very occasional alcohol and no smoking is that i take no precriptioon drugs whatsoever and have no comorbities. As well as this i am part of the UK bio bank study, which follows lifestyles and effects with regular monitoring of most of my personal health parameters, like regualr heart checks, bone density, brain and full body mri's as well as the usual blood and urine, lungs, brain puzzle checks for dementia etc etc etc. The most revealing check that i have had was a carotid artery ultrasound check. It shows no arthoschlerosis in my artery whatsoever, so my chance of stroke and heart disease is minimal. Lifestyle is the key to good health and a long life.
I watched a program a couple of years ago, there’s problems with this cliff erosion all over the UK. It’s a shame, I guess there’s not much they can do about it
You asked about health and issues. Im 60 next year and since leaving school for 25-30 years was in the gym running but my biggest negative was smoking from 15 -49 then lost 4 stone really quick which caused Diabetes had it bad lost all my toe nails and feeling front half of my feet then 8 years ago had my 4th heart attack and had a triple heart bypass but as bad circulation in legs they took a vein from my angkle to my groin and im now left i cant walk very far and now disabled but 3 weeks had agood op where they paste this new medcine in your arteries and it disolves everything bad in them i feel great chest wise but i also need new hips lol you cut your wrists yet lol thts where i am now but im happy and my grandchildren keep me young x
Lovely and very interesting video Steve. One question I’d like to ask is, do you have a C1 License? Also do you have to refresh the C1 each year or is it once you’ve passed you have it for life? Keep up the great work guys and I’ll be looking forward to the next one 💋
Yes Amanda we both have a C1 on our license, as does anyone that passed their test before January 97, otherwise it’s a separate test. You don’t need to keep taking it but I believe you need to again when you turn 70.
Listened to Matt’s podcast, and noted that you and others got a mention about you health, sincerely hope everything is ok, high blood pressure is a pain to control for me, unfortunately I like my food. But between the Doc and myself we hope to get it down before Hip replacement in July. Be careful, Lyndsey might expect you to do more cooking. I know James Martin is concerned that you might muscle in on his TV show🤣😂🤣
A map from 1848 confirms that the coastal erosion is equal to the depth of the caravan park at its southern end and that Skipsea Cottage is now in the sea.
I wonder if the traffic lights give pedestrians more of a chance of crossing the road safely. Roundabouts can be a nightmare if you are on foot. I think my husband and I are older than you but we have been intermittent fasting for the last year and have lost 7 stone between us. We don’t eat any ultra processed food at all. We have a good wholesome diet which includes good fats (avocado, nuts etc). We don’t eat low fat anything as they always have bad extras in to make up for flavour. We have plenty of protein but low carbs (we try to eat natural carbs only). It has transformed our lives and at no extra cost, in fact I would say we spend less. Intermittent fasting is so good for gut health which is so good for the brain too.
That’s fantastic, and yes Lynds has the same attitude to low fat foods. I’ve still got some way to go to be fully healthy eating, but I’m making a start.
Another interesting vlog. Can you tell me why you use google maps as a GPS as you cannot put vehicle dimensions in etc? Secondly can you do a vlog on the Fiat Ducato digital dash to show how the menu system works for altering time, checking oil and Adblue levels etc. Many thanks
We use searchforsites.co.uk and as I showed in this video, it’s just too easy to bring up your stop and just press the Google Maps button and navigate there. I’m not the person to do a video on how to use the Fiat dashboard I’m afraid Barrie.
Hey Lyn. Yes that was mainly shot on the Pocket 3, and the Action 4 in the pub. There’s a link to all our camera gear on our Amazon shop www.amazon.co.uk/shop/roamingradfords
Having experienced a road accident in a motorhome I would definitely not have kitchen knives only fixed by a magnet. My accident, front on with bad motorcycle, led to the whole heater coming off its fixings and joining me in the front. Please reconsider leaving the knives out when travelling
I am 63 and carnivore. Meat only, with animal fat. The way forward like our parents taught us. Back then, we were lied to and told to eat Carbohydrates and sugar......How wrong were they
