awsome im just beginning my motorcycle adventure. Ive been a Trucker for 20 years; currently a fuel truck driver. Im going for my motorcycle license next month and hope to get a used sportster. I gave loved them since i was a kid and now is the time to get it.
Videos like these make me wish I'd bought a Sportster instead of my Dyna (which -in all fairness- I love) Sporties are badass tho, good work! Thanks for the vid, Imma keep it as reference.
Just stumbled on your channel. I don't know why, because all I've been watching is Goldwing reviews Lmfao, Awesome build. I want to build a sporty chop in the near future. I feel a good connection with this, especially since I do my own work on my bikes and always lose parts in the dirt/grass.

Had an iron head that ran like crap after extending the front end because I determined that the carburetor float bowl was on a too extreme angle. My solution was to run the intake manifold through a bandsaw to separate the outer flange and welded it to a level position. Took about an hour and cost me nothing. Bike ran as good as it did before longer tubes.
@@SUPPORTYOURSELF Probably others have figured that out also. Built lots of bikes over my 61 years, was a bike mechanic for 5 years. In 1976 I helped an older friend ( I was 13) build a 1951 panhead “61inch” chopper with a 15” over girder, raked and stretched frame, jockey shift that he still has. I’ve rode it several times and he is leaving it to me when he’s gone, so I can take care of it.
@@SUPPORTYOURSELF yea I start watching because my dad gave me his old Suzuki intruder 1400 and im trying to make it more mine and Tahoe/ El Dorado county road are the best
Currently doing a ground up build on my sportster I'm in Australia it's cost way more than I imagined probably would have been cheaper to Go on a holiday and build it there
Nice bike, I have a couple of questions, I hope you can help me, in addition to the long bars did you put anything else? Like dampers or something extra? I'm about to set the bars +6 but I want the look you achieved, it's great, but my bike is not hard tail, is only with the 10.5 rear shocks lol
Thank you! When you install the extended tubes, you will need to make plastic spacers for the springs. It can be done really easily with PVC pipe. Everything else stays the same!
Ride quality seems about the same honestly. Moving around in a parking lot has it's challenges but besides that it's all good! I'll be getting a vendor booth at the next sac swap, stop by and say hey!!
My chopper was 10" over, with 34 inch wide touring bars, easy to handle, with fork braces on the tubes, narrow Z bars look good while standing, rubbish to ride with IMHO.
