I think for an early access beta this game is unbelievably fun. Lots of different things to try in the way of building. Looking forward to the depth of the game, I think it has serious potential, just depends if they hit the depth I think the fans are looking for. Based of the details we’ve seen I think that it will. A slow game, but quite nice if you enjoy that kind of game.
I have been playing for about a month (started January 2022). I liked your video. Good points! The maps have been improved a lot since your review. You can choose 3 different starting zones (mountain, hillside, and plains) each with their own breakdown of resources. I will plan on sticking with the game for a while and am looking forward to their next roadmap features.
I like this game and am watching several youtubers playing it - all with differing styles. Having said that, I clicked on your review to see another perspective and was not disappointed. I liked the way you've laid out your video (almost reminded me of a structured Powerpoint presentation - not a bad thing!) as it was structured and let me know what to expect quickly and up front. Nice work o/
I agree with your opinion on the current state. I'm hoping most of these things will be fixed as they update further! It looks like they've been updating at a decent rate
Great review, I have an issue with the settlers, some of the settlers picked up when they are done, wood, stones etc. but most of them do no! I have to micro management telling them to pick it up and dump back at the base. It's just wasting time.
Been watching some of your vids now and I really like them, you really have a comforting sort of calmness in the reviews. Following mostly for new Icarus reviews etc but also enjoying these other reviews!
Not as much content as Rimworld with 500 mods, but this somehow looks more fun. Maybe because it is entirely new to me or because it is not infested with broken mods.
Dynamite review. This saved me ~20 bucks. I would be very surprised to see something like dumb AI ever get fixed. Stronghold was the same way. That's why you ended up fighting about 6 of em at once.
"Middle of nowhere" probably a 5 star Hotel in Auckland with fiber optic connection - ha. Nah, hope you are doing well wherever you are, thanks as always...catch up soon.
Its Early Access. It has a lot of potential. If the devs add updates and DLCs and actually put work into the future of this game it could be something special. I just bought it and am installing now. Hope I get more than 40 hours out of it tho lol...
This is completely my kind of game but, I'm not buying it Early Access in the same way that I didn't buy Rimworld on early access. It's too feature incomplete at the moment so I'll let the early adopters get into it first and see how the game develops over time.
Also I'm embarrassed to say that I have 1100 hours in Rimworld (which is my absolute favorite game after earthbound on SNES which doesn't count because it's 25 years old). I've heard this called a 3D version of that. Are you a RimWorld fan and if so, is this true?
Hi Lisa. I have played RimWorld. I'm no guru, but this game has a solid future but it is no RimWorld, mostly as RimWorld has both obvious and hidden depth, making it a real meaty game. Going Medieval could become that, but it has a long way to go... Good game for sure..
Matt, or whatever your name really is... You did an amazing job in reviewing the game. I mean, all of it well presented and explained. Hope for all the best for you, take care
The analogy about the fast forward was very unique but I have played many similar games with all these fast forward buttons they always end up like you playing 90% of your game in the max speed but also I fail to see how this is an unique bad thing but more of a "problem" with the genre. Also did you try mods and if you did how much did they change the game? Nice video nonetheless.
Hey Finlando, the issue is not the "fast forward" but why you do that? A lot of games will kind of it built in that you are going to fast forward through parts. In this game I started using the fast forward to get the game moving, again this may be fine but you have to always question the key mechanics of a game if the further you get into the more you fast forward, and even if say you had a "skip to next event" button, if you have a feature like that that you use all the time it shows the fundamentals of the game are lacking - anyway that's what I think. Thanks man appreciate your comment.
joined medieval clan , 80% of my steam games are indie games so ea is ok for me , ofc i dont buy every ea indie game, i try to support only devs. who love theyr game.
Thanks Halibob, I don't get too caught up in it. I've learnt that you can never really tell what will do well when you are small youtuber, so you just focus on trying to mostly put well put together stuff out. Having said all that I'm always super happy when something starts ticking over nicely. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video. I know you went in cold, but a value-added feature to your reviews would be to link youtubers you recommend who are doing series on the game for those who want more granularity. Not a criticism- just a suggestion // everything else was good.
this video is too slow, you keep telling us what you are going to talk about or what you are going to do... stop it and just do it. Just start the video with your opinion, what is the harm in that?
Ahhh. I see so the video should go like this - video launches - I say "it is good." End video. You my friend have deep insight. I'm going to like your comment out of pure respect.
