I just moved into an apartment in my home town after losing my husband in October. I love watching your apartment videos! (And all your videos). I love that you are grabbing life and going for it! I’ve never lived all alone so it’s a huge adjustment for me. I have great kids, and family, but I feel like I’m not up to making friends yet. I just love watching your determination not to settle! Dana video time is the best! PS: I’ve lost 32lbs since March by exercising, walking and cutting sugar out of my diet. You’re my inspiration!

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 8 years ago and the Grief never really goes away. It gets quieter, slower and sometimes it comes rushing back like the sea❤ If it wasn't for our son i think it would have been alot harder to move forward. One step at a time and you will get there😊

FIRST DATE!! I think you already know what the best decision is about whether it is good or not to talk about your date. My opinion is that it is best to keep that information to yourself, at least until you have gotten closer and he is ok with it. As far as your age difference, I met my husband in 1993, 6 months after my divorce. I was 45 & he was 40. I come from a family where we all look younger than our ages, so most people thought he was older than me. We just celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary and have been very happy. We each brought unique characteristics to our relationship that has helped us grow into better people. You will have to assess if a potential younger man you are attracted to will help you each do the same. But don’t let age difference automatically rule someone out.

im so glad you share your dating journey and dreams in that dept. there are so few, i cant think of any currently, women in their late 30s/early 40s online who talk about being in this place. it is so needed and comforting to not feel alone! i too wouldn't care at all, if i was one of the dates, since it's anonymous. thanks for sharing what you do danna!!!

Just be mindful to keep open access to at least two doors and your only doors (I presume) to the apartment. It’s something recommended in my country in case there is a fire at one door or if you had to exit the apartment immediately but the back door couldn’t be opened for whatever reason, maybe it got jammed (I don’t know) and you need an escape route through the other door (God forbid).

I think you should keep it a mystery. Keeps us coming back for more tea. Although, it is your lovely personality that keeps us coming back anyway. I am glad you had a lovely first date. My bucket list has been seeing the Northern Lights too, Danna. Last month, here in southern Idaho, we had the most epic, historic, Aurora display around May 10 and 11. It was unbelievable!! I even managed to take an amazing photo of the lights over the skyline of Boise. I have a Timelapse of the experience on my channel. I was so happy! ✨Also, bees…the secret life of bees. I have Rheumatoid arthritis. The other day a bee stung my hand. Suddenly, I had no more pain in my hand! I did research that anomaly, and there actually is a bee therapy for illnesses such as arthritis. Go figure. I now love bees. 🐝

Regarding the dating, 34 is great. I think it’s fine to talk about the dating if you want but keep it basic. Saying you went in a date and it went well is enough :) I guess asking him will also give you a good idea on how he would feel about being in a relationship with someone who vlogs and if they are open to being shown in the videos 😊 Hope the second date goes well!

FIRST DATE 14:32 When I was going to university there were two different Starbucks I went to and the employees at both knew me by name and knew my order. The moment I’d walk in they’d all say, “hi Jesselle” and immediately start working on my venti mocha espresso with cinnamon powder. I loved it. 🥰 You are very entertaining, whether you’re cleaning, hiking, reciting obscure tv/movie quotes that I 99% of the time know where it’s from and especially when you’re creating art. I love your music and that is why I subscribed to you all those years back. The song is Where you are and it was used a lot in that one family vloggers videos. First Date!! IMHO I think you should talk minimuly about your dates. The guy in Montana who broke your heart, you showed a lot of your interactions. It was IMHO an extremely quick match-up. I don't know what happened, but I suspect it had something to do with your getting sick at the camp grounds that flooded. After 25 years of marriage, Im going through a bitter divorce. When I had 2 auto accidents in early 2014 he just would not step up to help me at all. Then I had a really bad auto accident on the turnpike in April 2019. I crushed 2 vertebrae. He took off family leave for 3 months but vanished during the day. I wish you all the best in life because you truly deserve. Just don't jump in too quickly.

Last stats were that men die 6 years earlier than women so 🤷‍♂️ dating a younger man makes sense to me. For me, I would not discuss my date unless I have asked them if they are comfortable with it. I would lose trust if the person I was dating discussed me without my knowledge. If you are just sharing activities (hiking, movies etc; in general terms he might be good with that. Communication and trust from the beginning is important to me. IMHO

Danna, I know this is unsolicited but I was once told by a matchmaker to stick within a 7-year age range So I'm 28 my age range for dating would be 26-33. First date! 🥳 I too want to see the Northern Lights in Iceland. Before Covid I had a trip all planned out. I researched a TON about Iceland to learn their culture and be respectful of their country. Unfortunately, my traveling buddy bailed on the trip and I had to cancel everything. It's still on my bucket list. I'll go if I have to alone. I've read it's very safe for female solo travelers. Age is number unless it’s illegal. My daughter met her husband and they dated through college then got married. I never ask his age but found out later he was 5 years younger than her. He is best man a mother could ask for their daughter. As for your First Date hopefully he is kind and becomes a friend first, date with intention not Loneliness and you keep your boundaries! ETA I personally would ask his opinion because some men are more private and would maybe be offended if they found out your speaking about your dates. I love watching whatever you post! ❤

Dating these days is extremely hard. I'm almost 30 and freaking myself out about how I may never have a family (even though I know thats slightly irrational) but especially as I watch all my friends and people my age have their 2nd and 3rd children, etc. I enjoy you being open to sharing online cause it gives me some hope for someone nearly 40 years younger but already freaking myself out about dying alone LOL. As far as someone sharing about dating me, for me personally, I wouldn't care if someone spoke publicly online about our dates as long as my name wasn't put out there. Everyone has different experiences with different people anyways so it's not necessarily a direct reflection of the people anyways.

First date. I don't think age necessarily matters as long as you're at the same place in your life and you want the same things on a similar timeline. BPC seem to be not ready to settle down and have a family and that's an issue more so than his age. 34 isn't much younger so I would definitely give it a shot!

I was single for the 1st time in 15 years in 2022 and I joined Facebook dating. It was so weird trying to talk to people online especially since most of them were just looking for a hook up which is not my vibe so it took a year before I matched with my now boyfriend and we’ve been together ever since. He was one of the only guys who could actually hold a conversation and he seemed like he wanted to get to know me. He asked me out after a couple days of talking and I said yes! But I also told him I had a rule where I wait two weeks before actually meeting up with someone just incase we realized it wasn’t a match. Longest two weeks ever!
