When you are Card dead, it’s a good opportunity for you to listen to some music, which in turn reduces the amount of tilt you are going through and it’s also a good time while listening to some good music to pay closer attention to your opponents, body language, as well as the cards they are showing up with at showdown. All of this information will be useful for when you do start picking up some hands again. Music wise I will often resort to some Ray Charles Muddy Waters or Al Green for a more soothing and relaxing time/session or some heavy metal such as Lamb of God or Killswitch engage.
60 blinds is not much. This type of session will happen plenty of times, you’ve been sun running for a while so this just a bit of evening out. Important to play great defence on these types of days, mentally
Great vlog! I was extremely card dead the other day and tried to make things happen with things that looked good to me after awhile (ex: J8). Cards only got worse till the end- probably 95% of hands were the lowest of the low. I am not exaggerating! I was in a home game so had to finish to the end. But very, very frustrating especially coming back from a good poker trip at a casino where players were good as well as my cards and my play. Did you want to stop the vlog and move to another table since things were going so bad? Not sure if that ever went through your head or if you would do it?
Lol yes trying to get creative with mediocre hands and then it usually just doesn’t work out 😂. Patience is a virtue but the card dead was rough because I only get to play 5/10 a few times per month. I did think about moving tables but decided not to. I try to help keep the 5/10 game running as long as possible so we can keep doing it on a consistent basis
With the AK off with everyone checking the 337 flop, should have folded on the turn. $175 bet and a call, one of them has the 3, most likely the one leading out. The caller probably folded a King with low kicker since he didn't call with a flush on the river.
I'd fold turn, too. Since SB is not afraid of K while facing two 3-bet opponents - then she must have something stronger that is not a K. (!). The other Opp called, so reason to get out. River: even more reason to fold: SB is not afraid of front door flush hitting into two opponents. I'm folding top pair here all day.
Not re raising preflop on button with AK allowed the 53 to come in and outflop you. Easily avoidable. That just contributes to you tilting It's a game of variance and luck Combining GTO and exploitative seems the best option Even AA can get outflopped by 72 It's best to fast play premiums against players who play loose
Last hand you flop top pair with J kicker and don't consider raising against players you suspect could be betting out with middle pair. It's too passive. A re raise gives you more information and folds out a weaker pair or builds pot up for your better hand. Losing value by just calling. Obviously if you change it up in then it's ok. Observing top players they find ways to squeeze out value and show aggression so as not to be a Nit Aggression can also fold out better hands Being too passive makes your range more predictable
Mr. Hall... Am I personal opinion .... When players have card dead sessions that's when patients becomes a real virtue and is very important for a poker player .... And players that do not have that virtue particularly usually are not cut out for the long-term in playing poker much less doing it for a living.... But again that's only my personal opinion !!! but I see that you are a good poker player and I love watching your RU-vid channel !! But I would stay away from playing bomb pots.... If I were you... Your fan.... River Rat 🐀
Totally hear you! I play many sessions off camera where I’m card dead and remain patient. This one was just excessive with how bad my cards were is all 👍🏼 Appreciate your continued support
