It's pure genius, no one is going to suspect someone is sleeping inside a collapsed Aliner. It looked surprisingly comfortable. I love the whole concept it's brilliant.

This is brilliant! We had a tent trailer when I was a kid, which I then took over from my parents when I had my own family. I don't think this would work with a bunch of kids in tow, but certainly for a solo or couple. I've always wondered about stealth camping if you are a snorer. I can imagine thinking you are being all sneaky, sleeping in your vehicle on the side of a road, and having people hear you snoring away, giving your stealthy camping away. lol! I've stealthed outside of my son's place in Vancouver in my little RV. It was residential, everybody parks on the street, kept the lights off, and my animals were all in there with me. I figured if I got a knock, the dogs would bark and it would appear that it was just them inside. I spent 2 nights there with no problems at all. One of the things I love about my little RV is that I can make a getaway without needing to get out of the vehicle. Haven't ever had to do that, thank goodness, but if the occasion ever arises....I'm good to go! -Sue

love it! I've done a bunch of this (commented on part one with my suggestions). A few other ideas...a five gallon bucket makes an impromptu toilet; get some kitchen trash can liners to avoid the need to clean it out. something I never tried, but you reminded me of...police station parking lots. :-) I'll have to try that, next time I'm doing the gypsy thing. A cooler with "blue ice" and PB&J fixings, saltines, etc. stuff that won't kill you if it gets warm. (Pickles, nuts, seeds, some cheeses, crunchy-veggies, un-cut fruit or dried fruit.) Stopping at a grocery before you start looking for your place to bed-down is handy. Probably the handiest suggestion, for those young enough to do it (I gave up this one years ago!) is to stop for 4-5 hours in the early afternoon in mall, grocery or "big-box" parking lots. Park away from the building, and you can usually get a good sleep in, then drive all night. I find after that you can stop at fast food place (with lots of parking) around 6 or so, ask the manager if it's okay if you sleep in your "car" for an hour, since you've been driving all night. I've done that a ton, and can only recall 2-3 times when the store manager said no. When I did that, I'd always go back in to thank the manager, and let them know I was clearing out. Just one less thing on the back of their mind. My rig was a commercial trailer (22' job) that was modified a bit...not as an RV, but, I could use it as an emergency shelter. I pulled it with a F250 (originally) and then an F150 (struggled a bit). I've not done this for years. I've been wanting to get another trailer (probably smaller) and convert it to straight RV (on the inside) with construction logo on the outside.

Interesting setup, Slim. I'm working my way thru your videos, and enjoying it. You've definitely got a creative streak. As to seeing outside when you're inside with the top down, have you considered the security peepholes like you find in a hotel door? It might or might not work, given it's only maybe 3 feet off the ground. But you never know. Thanks for the videos, and keep up the good work.
