Okay so I just tried simulating a prepper situation. The energy and heating wasn't at all a problem even on very cold nights, it was the food and water. I consumed an absurd amount of water, and generated an absurd about of garbage from MREs. Not to mention I got pretty sick of eating MREs. I live in northern Canada so it's freezing for most of the year. I'm wondering if you have any videos/ideas for an indoor hydroponic system to grow fresh veggies.

Question, why do you use so low powered solar panels & inverters.? Same array with Sun Power panels would have given that customer 15,540Kw system.
@jesse1441
@jesse1441 5 лет назад
What do you mean low powered? I don’t think this system was just installed, the pv panels were probably around 250w each which was normal s few years ago. Also it was probably more economical to install a little lower wattage panel at a much better price since they had ample room on the roof. It wouldn’t be wise to throw the latest and greatest 360+ watt panels on a huge roof at the premium sun power panel price. And not everybody is a sun power dealer.

Please go to Home Depot and pick up a couple of sets of Ladder stabilizer arms for the top of your ladders. It will put your ladder at a safer angle and when you put the ladder on the roof it will offset the ladder from any gutters. I see you have ladder foot adjusters which is also safer because your ladder than stays straight. I use a different type for window cleaning business.

I'm curious about affordable solar energy storage. Shopping online it seems like the components for storing (batteries, rack, etc.) nearly double the cost of the equipment. I'm planning a small installation, just enough to cover regular usage excluding the HVAC system because we have alternative methods for this. But I don't want to spend 30k on something I don't expect to replace my electric bill

Theoretically there should be no limit to how far you can out the CT's front the solark current is the same at any point in a circuit no matter the distance. That's why 90% of industrial sensors are 4-20 milliamp the wire can be 1000s of feet long.

Great you love solar. But when I see your roof with a 25' angle and I doubt that you are in the tropics where this angle would make sense for south oriented panels, in your setup it look more like a east west setup where you will catch the sun when its low on horizon, a 60' angle would improve your panel efficiency a lot, less panels same power output
