i seriously cannot wait to see joe in 40 years. he’s going to be the most snatched 70 year old man EVER. i’m in my 40’s and can’t even be consistent with moisturizer, yet he’s over there moisturizing to the freaking gods 🙌
I love empties videos. It shows what people are really liking….would any of us finish a product if we hated it?! Also i love when someone shows an empty that is a repurchase cause then you know they really love it.
I attributed my own preggo glow to being constantly sweaty (I was a dumpling of a momma-to-be), but Hannah just looks so fresh and healthy, it's got to be natural glow (elevated slightly by makeup I'm sure 😉)
Hannah your hair looks so gorgeous and it's so long! I enjoyed the strange second hand reviews of men's skincare. My husband is also silent about his routine but I find he uses things up, so he must use it...either that or there are elves in Minnesota with amazing skin.
While you are in your non tret phase, Mandelic acid is great for acne, hyperpigmentation, cell turnover, texture etc. it has been the game changer for both me (56) and my daughter (18). I’ve never used a product with faster or more positive results. I like the 4%toner from Cellbone. Also the serum (8% or 11%) from FaceReality. Sofie Pavitt has a nice serum as well although pricey. Sometimes I use it as a spot treatment with a swab rather than all over.also I use tret at night and mandelic in the morning, or alternate days.
I bought empty containers with look and pumps which I find perfect for me; and then I can buy any products I like (shampoo, body wash, liquid soap etc.) and fill these containers I love. This way my bathroom looks more pleasing to my eyes and I can be sure that when I press the pump on the bottle, it lets out just the right amount of product.
Not sure how it compares with Good Genes, but Peach & Lily’s Power Cocktail is a 10% lactic acid serum that I’ve been using constantly. I’m on the last few uses of my second bottle and will probably restock next time it’s on sale at Ulta.
I was just about to comment something similar! My skin is a sensitive little peach (no pun intended) and I don’t chemically exfoliate very much but I do know a lot of people enjoy it, and it’s less expensive than Good Genes
Your eyes look incredibly cute in this! And I love empties videos, especially when you pull out reviews of products I've never heard of and you wouldn't mention otherwise 😍
Love empties! I received a sample of the Nécessaire Body Lotion and really liked it, partly because it's unscented, and also because it's non-greasy. It makes a dandy hand lotion as well as body lotion. It's kind of spendy, so I'll have to give a purchase some thought. I like some sort of fragrance in my hand and body cleansing products, but I can't stand lingering fragrance (it gives me a headache). I was "influenced" by Kackie to get the Nécessaire deodorant, and I really like it. Here's a tip for large women (like me): put it in your skin folds, belly, under the boobs, etc. No more irritated stinky red skin!
I loved the thick feel of that osea oil but oh my god it smells like pinesol to me. My husband too, it was giving him flashbacks to cleaning barracks as a young soldier. I mentioned this on Kackies video and she said she didn't notice this having a strong scent. I felt gaslit 😂 I love a good body oil, I usually love fragrance in skincare. I wish they'd come out with a fragrance free version because but I just can't handle that scent. One of a very few products I actually returned, I had to because the scent doesn't dissipate. I'd love to find a similar body oil with a less pinesol smell.
Ooh I love empties. I am very into Soft Services too, but can't bring myself to spend the money on the body wash. A similar, very simple option that I buy over and over is the unscented 3in1 Soap by Everyone (EO products.) It runs $13 for 32 oz and it's great for my easily irritated body skin. It's made with aloe which I love. Highly recommend!
Re: the texture of the Madecassoside Gel - I haven't used it myself, but since I started using prescription Tret my otherwise oily skin desperately needed additional oil to soothe the horrific dryness, but I have a fringe/bangs so I ended up working out that mixing the oil (a difficult texture for me) in with my moisturiser both morning and night gave me all the good things my skin needed but everything sunk in more easily and didn't feel so sticky/greasy on my face when going to sleep. I'd recommend the same technique for this gel in case that makes it easier to work with? Not that you have the product at the moment, but just a general thought that has been a game changer for me. Also having scoops/mini spatulas with your cleansing balm is so simple but makes using them SO much more pleasurable. Even if I'm using a balm that doesn't come with a scoop I'll just reuse one of the ones I already have. I do love that the DE one is magentised but I've repurchased the Heimish one so many times because it's so affordable, completely effective, has that soft sherbert cleanser texture and comes with a scoop that lives under the lid! Not as easy to get as DE of course, but I prefer the formula as it melts down more easily and you can't beat the price.
I haven't been watching beauty RU-vid in much and I've been ignoring Instagram the past few months. Not on purpose, my little boy is a handful alongside my 4yo daughter (4 year age gaps are hard on parents too lol). So when I heard you say "ever since I've been pregnant" in the middle of my nap, the speed in which I shot upright in bed was unexpected. First, congratulations!! I had a feeling when I watched a previous video of yours where you didn't mention your pregnancy because of the skin changes you mentioned. My skin went through like for different phases during both my pregnancies so I was questioning but didn't dare say anything. I'm so happy for you and Joe entering this new chapter in your lives!!!! ❤❤❤ Idk if this will help during the remainder of your pregnancy, but I found vitamin C, lactic acid, and niacinamide were my best friends. It helped keep the acne at bay. And sadly, after my pregnancies my skin changed and old holy grails no longer work. So I'd stick to drugstore skincare in case the same happens to you. I'm sure you already know this, but thought I'd share some of my experience for reference 😊
I’m also dealing with the sallowness from pregnancy! My answer has been niacinamide because I’m sensitive to acids. I even had to buy different base products because all of my make up was looking so off on me
We sadly can't get Good Genes Lactic in the UK, just the Glycolic. But a friend brought me a bottle over when they were visiting the States, and I absolutely love it! The glycolic is great, but the Lactic is more gentle and works well if you're a high-strength retinal user, as I am!
One of the only scented products my husband has ever gotten excited about is the Blueland evergreen hand soap. I am happy to keep up with that as our "fancy hand soap."
Hey girl! You look so wonderful! You describe shampoos, potions and lotions like a poet! So nice to listen to! Thanks for the video! And do tell how you got your man to be concerned about skincare! My guy is totally clueless!
Empties ARE a blast from the past, but in the best way. I still love empties videos because it shows the products that were good enough to be used until finished. You can also get a good sense of the cost per use of products when people review their empties too. While I do think monthly/bimonthly empties is an out of vogue concept, I do love to see a video once every 4-6 months
When your small human arrives, check out the absolutely lovely baby skincare line Mustela. Sniffing your baby’s sweet head after a bath with the products is sheer magic. And so gentle on their skin. I sometimes used it for myself and it’s my go to baby gift for friends. ❤
Love an empties vid, please keep making them! Like them for the same reason as the “revisiting old reviews/first impressions” videos, it’s really helpful to have a lot of mini reviews in one place, and given after you’ve spent more time with the product and have more developed or conclusive thoughts 🩷💜
Hannah, would you consider letting us do an online baby shower for you & Joe? ❤ We love you guys & a first baby is so special, maybe do an Amazon wishlist so you can keep your address private?
I'm here for the le labo Hinoki shower gel review. le labo, if you are reading this, PLEASE bring out a perfume with this very scent and I'm yours for life. Never bought a bottle of perfume from you before, but I'll buy this scent until the day I die.
I read a comment a few months ago on one of your older videos pointing out that when you show the camera the product you’re reviewing, you do it like an animal crossing character, and I swear it makes my day thinking about that. Hannah, you are my favourite animal crossing character. Also at 12:15 when you finished taking about the scent of that body lotion, when you leaned in I felt like you were about to let us have a sniff of it 😅 you’re the cutest.
I always enjoy content like this because it shows/proves you as the influencer not only tried but consistently used and experienced the product to the point you can genuine recommend or provide insight on it. I don't know, its just such a nice journey to see what proved to work over time. I also hope you'll make new videos on your top vitamin c serums and updated skincare products/routine (I know you mentioned Instagram stories but they disappear and it'd be great to see a dedicated video to these topics) so thanks for considering and also helping me see through and overcome the temptation to buy all the new, highly raved about launches and to appreciate what you already own and suggest products that are actually effective/worthwhile
Have you ever contemplated using azelaic acid? I just started using it and it’s supposed to work on dark spots, rosacea redness and rosacea acne… it is working on me. Wondering you have considered it.
I loved this empties video, it’s inspiring, thank you! Funny, I’ve used the Youth to the People moisturizer with peptides as well, but I wasn’t really impressed either. It was very decent, but it felt a bit cheap, maybe because of the texture and packaging? I don’t know, but just wanted to say that I get it😄
I love Good Genes. My skin texture immediately gets better. I think it's a worthwhile luxury. I'm just buying sample sizes from ebay for now but when I run out I really see and feel the difference.
I also loved the Osea oil when I got it as part of a beauty box but it's oh so expensive! And I'm going to try a few of your moisturizer recommendations as I'm always searching for things that work but don't cost a gazillion dollars.
I wanted to mention, about Timeless vitamin c, it's a great product and super effective, but it's noteworthy because they use L-ascorbic acid and do regular small batches so it's as fresh as possible. Not many companies do that, other notable brands that do small batch production are Maelove and Geek and Gorgeous. For Timeless, it doesn't oxidize as fast as some other L-ascorbic acid vitamin C options because of the airless pump packaging. It's a holy grail product for me and I'm so glad to see you liked it! I regularly get emails from them about sales, they happen monthly. I imagine it's because they want to minimize waste and keep the product fresh, I so appreciate that approach to skincare manufacturing. It's refreshing to see.
i dont usually comment, but i have to give credit where credit is due, i noticed the animation differences in end cards and i have to say it looks really sleek and chic!! idk if it was you or joe, but i would like to tell you that that little difference didnt go unnoticed, at least by me lol. love u guys
You are glowing! Omg so gorgeous 🥹😍✨ I laughed when you talked about the glass products! That’s a touchy subject in our home right now… my husband’s favorite cleanser is the YTTP Superfood cleanser and he accidentally dropped it the day after I restocked it for him… it was full 😭💔
Thank you so much for your content Hannah. I was so drained from the day today and as always your video just relaxed me so much. You're amazing thank you
I haven't read every comment but I'm probably not the first to mention this - the sallowness you mentioned might be melasma! pregnancy hormones (and also the pill & some other hormone changes) can make melanocytes go into overdrive, especially on the face. it's typical for it to go away once hormones get back to baseline
I don’t know if you’ve tried it, but I enjoy the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow serum. I usually alternate it with Good Genes. It’s lovely but maybe not QUITE as potent as Good Genes, but I feel like it’s also hydrating.
I haven't tried the Soft Services body wash (they aren't available in Canada) but from the sounds of it it would be similar to the Aveeno Restorative Skin Therapy Soothing Body wash. Just in case anyone wants a budget option.
I'm a regular retinoid user who is currently pregnant too, and therefore taking a retinoid break. I saw Shereene Idriss recommend Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum if you are pregnant and taking a break from retinoids, so I switched to this, just for the period while I'm pregnant.
A vagus nerve stimulating OIL?? Incredible. Have you read Dr Stephen Porges Polyvagal Theory? I love all the unexpected places your videos wend their way to ❤️
I came to this video absolutely unaware of your pregnancy until you mentioned it while reviewing the Soft Services, but in this and your most recent videos I've seen I've just thought, wow her face really looks pregnant. Lol you look lovely, and to most I would probably sound crazy for saying that, but I'm currently pregnant for the fourth time and there's just a recognizable shift that happens in the face. Congratulations!
I really like the Pyunkang Yul Ato (Baby) lotion which is unscented and has urea in it. I use it for my body lotion and also for my face in the summer.
I need someone to make a video about how to get over the "ick" of certain skincare products. Like urea, snail mucin, etc. I want to use these products but just can't seem to get over that hurdle
i use the timeless vitamin c because of your rec! would you possibly consider doing a skincare video on youtube as well? i’ve had to stop using instagram for my ~mental health~
also! i think they may have fixed this glitch but for a while the target app had the timeless vitamin c priced incorrectly- I would order the big one but it was priced as the smaller size. So i still look out for that since I order mine from 🎯 and the date it was made is on it so I know I wasn’t just getting old stock. just something worth checking 👀
You should keep the lid of the Drunk Elephant cleansing balm! Chances are it’ll fit the lid of you next one and it’s a tool you need for moderation! I hope this msg reaches you in time.
Check out the ELF cleansing balm! Its like $11 and works better than a lot of the high-end balms I've used! its a smaller amount but it goes a long way so it still lasts a long time!. Wish the packaging did have a scoop though
I know you had the Necessaire sandalwood deodorant reviewed somewhere but I can’t find it so when I did a search this video came up, so I just wanted to tell everybody that I did by the Sandalwood, and The fragrance is wonderful that the bottles is nice I like the glass I like the applicator those are all fine. They advertise it as quick drying and not sticky and it is neither the only way to dry this is with a hairdryer and even then it’s tacky and I have to use powder on it afterwards. If it wasn’t for the wonderful smell, it wouldn’t be worth it.
Hello Hannah. Azelaic acid is pregnancy category B, and considered safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I love your content. You are amazing!
I came here to ask about the Good Genes and wondering what you’d think /advise (not holding you to anything haha) about using this with extremely sensitive/reactive skin. I have a hard time even with Vit C serums!! But .. as I say that it’s usually more of sensitivity bumps & blotches due to whatever-ingredient-who-knows-which. And don’t even get retinols near me!! It’s unfortunate I guess that I’m not willing to even ease into them because I DO need to leave my house without looking like I’ve burned my skin. I know it’s pricey so it’s risky to “try”. Thanks in advance. You look lovely!
i know i couldn't have a fancy handsoap. you know those stories of men that don't wash their hands after using restroom? yeah, my fiance is the exact opposite. he's using so much we go through 500ml bottles in the span of 4-5 days. i started diluting soap so it lasts a bit longer 🤣 Hannah, I know it's a lot to ask but could you review that new Lisa Eldridge cleanser/mask thing? you're pretty much the only influencer I trust and i'd like to know your thoughts.
I am also on the same hormonal acne train. I have heard the herbivore products are effective, specifically moon fruit serum. Have you tried their products?
