Going Through my Old Art (advice for beginners) 

As an artist we can really be hard on ourselves. I've learned to take all experiences as a lesson. Your work wasn't bad at all you were finding your way and in it I see the beauty in your growth.

I'm 44 years old and I stop painting 8 years ago and after watching this video I am inspired to get back at it

You should re-paint some of your old work and do a side-by-side, then and now, kind of thing!!

As a tattoo artist, I feel you on being able to say no to pieces that are not in your wheelhouse. On another note, it’s amazing to look back and see your progress. I love your style and use of colour. I love your technique of keeping some contours sharp and some blended, it’s lovely!

You're so radiant and your story is so inspiring. It's so easy to forget that even our favorite artists did not come out the womb with some God given talent, but they actually had to work to get where they are today. I finally bit the bullet today and ordered oil paint supplies after months of hesitating and feeling like I would just be wasting money. Hopefully I can eventually get to a skill level similar to yours, or at least to a point where I'm truly happy with the things I create. Thank you for inspiring novice artists like myself 🧡

So good of you to share even though it was not an easy thing to do. Thank you as it certainly is inspiring to see your early days as an artist, some of what you have learned along the way and with a lot of practice and hard work to develop your skills to become the confident, successful and supportive artist you are today, really lovely and so happy you found your niche. I just started painting last year in the pandemic in lockdown in London, really enjoying the learning journey and developing my skills.

I was expecting to see bad paintings only to be pleasantly surprised at how good they are.

The white couple painting is amazing in its own strange way, and it's cracking me up this morning...you shouldn't tell people it was a commission, and just title it "random generic white couple #1" or something.

To fix the painting of John Snow. Get a thin piece of Muslin fabric and gesso it to the back. Sand the year and Add another layer of paint on top. You'll barely be able to see it.

Such an entertaining video seeing all that beginning art. And you are so right, every artist struggles. I still struggle today after 20 some years! This brought back memories of my horrific "Dog Owl" watercolor as a beginning art teacher took me out of my acrylic and oil comfort zone and made me paint an owl that looked like a dog sitting on a branch! From the reference source of the scary stuffed owl in her home! And I still have it! LOL

Those old paintings were real art you should be proud of them The new paintings are computer assisted you trace the outline of the piece on the canvas. You probably use photoshop to get the chroma multicolor scheme as well. Once you do that it's like a big coloring book. I would like to see you do a real art piece from a blank canvas with no computer, projector line tracing at all.
