So this is it, the official last house we're metal detecting until Spring so we're planning on going until the sun goes down and try our best to find those interesting old yardefacts that come with a property this age. There's been a ton of incredible pieces found here already but with sections of the yard still untouched along with a heavy rainfall the day before we're hoping the wet ground will help us reach down even deeper for those deep hiding keepers! So let's try to go out with a bang before we switch over to farmfields for hte next 3-4 months and hope we all leave with huge smiles!

I got a permission for the spring 🌼🌱 where war of 1812 medals have been found, but the homeowner doesn't know where on the property they were found and it's 40 acres, who knows of I will find anything or not on all that space, but here's hoping

Greetings from the Scottish Highlands, the crushed item 15 minutes in, you describe as a bell is an 18th-19th century copper alloy fob missing its glass or stone seal, crushed and missing its suspension loop and would have been heavily gilded in its day. Keep up the great work guys.
@myview1875
@myview1875 8 месяцев назад
@16:00 That item is the body from a Georgian Copper Alloy Seal Matrix. 😀. The broken bit at the thin end would of been a suspension loop. The squashed end would of been an oval and a glass or carved stone seal would of been fixed into it. 🙂. I have found a few squashed bodies like that over here across the pond. 🙂.

You fellas need to put the 6" lg15 coil on the Legends and pull some serious finds out of that spot! I got the 6" lg15 coil with my Legend I bought from a buddy used. I thought it was a joke. I tossed it aside on my bench at home forgot about it. I used the stock coil for the most part until I bought the LG24 coil. I would swear the LG24 was the best coil all around. I also purchased the LG30 and lg35. I swore by the LG24 though. I hit a sidewalk grass strip and pulled a decent amount of coins. Some wheats and clad using the LG24. Then we got a chance to hunt the old city dump site that the city was scraping and changing the now setting pond for gutter water. They knew we where detecting and would scape about 6" a day off of the dump area and spread it out over a huge area for us. We went in and there was so much junk it was incredible. Metal of all kinds. Brass, copper, aluminum, stainless everything in all shapes sizes just an absolutely insane place to detect. I put the LG24 on and headed in. There was another fellow we bumped into there with a Legend and he had the lg15 on. You have to move super slow and try to pick out the good targets from the junk. Target separation is key here not depth. You inch your way along and the finds are incredible. So many silver coins and so many relics. A Gold coin was found and tons of military medals and pins and buttons. At the end of my first day of course we all compare our findings. The guy with the lg15 kicked our ass. Same programs for the most part only difference of course was coils. So my next trip I put the lg15 on. Hit it hard and my finds where incredible. Increase in how many I was able to pick out was nuts! It also taught me to slow down and forced me to learn to hunt trash riddled sites that I would normally walk away from. I mean run from. I would not hunt junk covered places. Well I gain so much experience it was incredible. After hunting the dump I became a much better detectorist. I no longer just walked away from junk sites. I been detecting for 25+ years. I walked away from lots of junky places. With my new learned skills and the rocketship lg15 coil I went back to that sidewalk I mentioned earlier. I got a good dozen coin off that strip with the LG24. But I hit it this time with the lg15 and slowed down with my new concentration and I pulled 26 MORE COINS! Off that same grass sidewalk strips I had already "cleaned out" with the LG24. Since I have gone to many sites with junk and my silver count has increased 10 fold! Amazing stuff. The lg15 is my primary coil now! If you go in first with the lg15 and clean it out then start by stepping up coil sizes and do the same spot again going deeper. But I see you guys are running LG30 for the most part. Try this.... Put on the lg15. Stick with it and I bet your finds double if not triple. I can almost slap a 100% garrantee on that!

The clip on earring looks to be from the Art Nouveau period 20 years before Art Deco. Art Deco is usually geometric in shape with angles and shapes while Art Nouveau looks Victorian with flowers or floral designs.

Bang-on guys! Thanks for taking me along. More great finds there again. I love it....Looks a bit nippy with you just now. At this time Cornwall is getting a proper battering from the sea. Waves hitting 300 foot plus cliffs so hard that seaweed is being cast 100 yards plus inland on the fields at 'Hell's Mouth' cliffs. Proper North Atlantic seaboard Celtic Nations wild weather. Nothing like the nesh inland English experience😉. Crap weather for spiders. Laters👍.

My neighboring farm has several unmarked family graves in their front yard here in Michigan. What is the process of handling those situations? Unknown then no worries? How do we know about the graves? Families verbal history. Many families die out and move away. The graves then become unknown. I think many people don't think about those possibilities.

That "A" pin looks exactly like the logo for the early Athletics baseball team logo. The original "A's" were the Philadelphia Athletics that started around 1901 in Philly a little north of the Strawberry Mansion area. I know you guys should know where Strawberry Mansion is. So the monogram letter pin just took on a whole new level of collectibility and value. Old baseball memorabilia is hot right now while the monogram letter eh it's OK but not baseball collectible OK lol And especially being a local Philly sports team. Cool

Doug did you check it for the L on the ribbon? I blew the picture up trying to see it and I see something on the ribbon area whether it's the L or it's a little pimple of metal popping up I can't tell. She's a pretty coin either way
@chuckburroughs6427
@chuckburroughs6427 7 месяцев назад
As a hand engraver, I believe the large letter "L" in the monogram will be the first letter of the last name. That's how we commonly engrave them. When they're 3 intertwined initials, the center one is always a bit bigger, and it will be for the last name.

There are numerous differences between these animals. The most obvious is the large hump on the back of the bison. Buffalo do not have a hump. Bison have a massive head, but buffalo have a head that is smaller and more “cowlike.” Buffalo live in generally warmer climates than bison. Great finds again!!!
