There is remote lone houses and such all around Chernobyl that are very run down and have probably not been decorated since the disaster so no doubt if they see new shit they will defo take it, there are no shops around for miles, and they live off radioactive fish and foraging.

@@EstMiilo Actually "cops" or guards could have done this. Those guys often happen to be just pieces of shit. They are expected to do things like this to prevent KREOSAN guys from coming back. They fake wall idea is good but hard to do. Those block houses are all the same, every flat has the same walls. So Stalkers will notice quickly

the only way would be to erect a wall where door is. paint it ,and like you say ,pile up debris. to get in .. do it from apartment above or below, from the balcony... but than again.. if assholes are determined to get in . they will find a way .

I think the guy thought if he made the area look nice then others would also do the same so there wouldn't be as much need to hide everything. People who are there already may not like the idea of new people in the area.

@@Francois_Dupont the location isn't fake obviously, so if you really wanted, you could go to pripyat and just do literally the same exact thing; nothing would stop you. Based on this alone, if we ignore the fact that there are already dozens of other stalkers within the zone, chances are really high that 'someone' had paid a visit while they were away.

I’m planning to visit next May. I’m going with private Chernobyl tour. He just does private tours no big groups. A little more expensive but since I am coming from Vancouver I want the whole experience.

@kinghayder there are only hot spots I’m told. If you go with a guide they keep you clear of those hot stops. It’s perfectly safe to visit Chernobyl.

@@windshield11 Trust me, the more low tech, the more reliable. Use the KISS method. Keep It Simple Stupid. This isn't intendended as an insult, it's actually a rule used by engineers when designing something. Better to just sound like random trash clanging around rather than some sophisticated alarm system that would definitely give up their position as well as cause unwanted curiousity. Just my 2 cents.

@@tomecalm7 I thought of that but dude if they can't wake up to this guy making noise then he'll have more than enough time to do something about the string of cans. The thyristor and super thin copper wire are a latching system, and you can't turn the alarm off until you turn all the power off to the system. It's not like you need to have some super loud siren, a small dc motor vibrator placed under your pillow will wake you up as well, without making too much noise. Anyways, they did a big mistake with nobody keeping guard, aka staying on watch during the night.

If they really wanna set up an apartment in Pripyat, their best bet is to start over in a new place and actually keep it hidden next time. This apartment was found because they showed too much. Doing things like setting traps or going out for revenge will not help them. That would only bring along its own set of problems. Like the other guy said, prevention. And this can only be prevented by keeping the place hidden
