I am spending my Christmas day watching Mr Bald's videos. I am 65 with COPD Emphasemia, Vascular disease and heart failure. My girlfriend 43 has terminal Lupus SLE - watching this, there is always someone worse off. Poor old chap. Seems such a nice man too.
Merry Christmas Ben, and to everyone in the Bald and Bankrupt family! Wishing you all the best. My gift to my fiancée is a romantic trip to Lviv, Ukraine. It will be our first time in the former Soviet Union. I truly can't wait! Thank you Bald for inspiring this trip!
Lviv is a very beautiful city. It feels so very European and less Soviet compared to other cities. You'll love it. :D it's my favourite out of cities in Ukraine that I've been to.
Can we sell some of those "enjoy chernobyl" coca cola style t shirts the man is wearing to raise money for the poor old bugger, so his son can visit or something? I feel so hopeless behind the keyboard when I watch this. Breaks my heart. I'd love to help him and I love his t shirt!
Its incredible to think that as we live our normal daily lives going to work, or out to eat that there is a man living completely alone in a ghost town in Chernobyl. Right now as i type this he is there in that house all alone. Merry Christmas to him. And to you Benjamin!!!
It's amazing how tough those people are and how they overcame such a tragedy. It makes me feel like a wimp. I couldn't bare the loneliness let alone the disaster that struck them.
Just casually having an irradiated turkey for Christmas dinner, don't mind Mr Bald. edit - that tour guide is the same one from IndigoTraveller. He has a very distinct voice. Merry Christmas everyone btw.
More videos like this one please. Chernobyl zone is fascinating. Wander around , check places . It gives goosebumps to watch everything being abandoned like that. Love it!
I second this. I am fascinated by the disaster and am also fascinated by abandoned stuff and love old soviet architecture, so this place is like heaven for me. I'd love to see more.
Bald. I have seen this channel grow from humble Belarusian beginnings to epic Hindustani adventures. I am not alone in saying this. Merry Christmas! We wait with baited breath for your next 2020 saga. Love and warm wishes from Canada 🇨🇦. Cheers bro 🍻!
You're videos make my life substantially better, especially when things aren't going great. I just wish you made more frequent videos! Especially the ones where you interact with strange and interesting people. Merry Christmas Big Ben!
Hey Bald, been watching you since about 16k subscribers (I think), this year you've helped me pass two sets of exams as well as many ups and downs. You've reignited my desire to travel the untrodden paths of the world. Merry Christmas!
I am sorry to be late Mr Bald, but I have had connection problems, but I would love to wish you all the best, for you, and your family, for the festive season, and especially a safe and rewarding 2020. I would love it if you were able to have a question and answer live stream on new years eve, but wherever you are, stay safe and all the best for your future journeys. Just be wary in the FSU's, as I think Vlad the Lad, has you on his watch list! And again I would love to se you journey down to Australia at some time in the future!
As a Ukrainian-Canadian who can't yet visit my homeland: Thank you for allowing me a window into life back home, the respect you show for our culture, and for all that you do to help. You're a good guy.
A True story mission ⚔️ [Winter 1996] ["All Ghillied Up"] [Pripyat, Ukraine] [Lt. Price] [22nd SAS Regiment] The Kindergarten in Kopachi village, south-east of the power plant. The kindergarten is one of only two surviving buildings in Kopachi.. the rest were bulldozed and buried in a failed state effort to control the levels of radiation. And yes, 50 thousand people used to live here now it's s ghost town.
It is so nice to see a Ben’s video appear on my iPad, I know I’m going to have a smile just like his for the entire broadcast. He has a permanent smile and carries an air of happiness with him, it rubs off on the video and creates huge entertainment. Thank you Ben.
So sorry to see Ivan’s wife passed away. Mary-Ann Ochota (an Anthropologist) on animal planet channel interviewed he and his wife a few years ago. So glad you could brighten his day.
I'm not interested in actually going there myself, but i'm glad you go on our behalf. Always interesting! Put me down for a dozen vodka-cakes though when your new business starts up.
My auntie was a nurse in London at the time of the disaster. Her hospital & many others got flooded with people who were suffering from radiation poisoning. She was told by the police NOT to say anything about it. It took almost 20 years before she spoke about it.
Holy shit your videos are absolutely amazing, I only just started watching them like a month ago but just watching seeing what you get up to makes me want to travel in these post-Soviet countries so much. Quality videos mate, please keep it up
Man... Watching you travel to the source of the disaster after all the people, the stories you've gathered about how impactful it was on their lives... It makes it so much more intense and moving than watching any other traveler on youtube who has gone there. Loving the content Ben, one of the best things about my 2019, thank you
Just found you and love this content I’ve never seen anything like it. There is one other youtubers I follow but he doesn’t stop and talking to the locals because of language barriers and stuff. Now subscribed.
That man broke my heart 😥 watching on Christmas Day, I know he chose to re-settle but such strict laws for his family to come visit? It’s not fair🥺 such strong people from the Russian tragedy! I could never. Merry Christmas to everyone!
Keep up the good work of bringing Vodka to those in need. Seriously, people report on Chernobyl alot but you are the first to try and be friends with those effected. You bring something that others haven't... There time. You spend your time being a man that just want to travel and experience life from the other side. Thanks for being an awesome bald dude.
I saw a documentary on Chernobyl. A terrible accident . Many sacrificed they’re lives in the clean up afterwards. I’m a regular follower of Mr.Bald now . Merry Christmas ✌️
Far and away the best youtuber (Harald is close). Thanks so much for the amazing tales, views and history this year. And the laughs. And Alenchick - beautiful.
Thank you so much for your content. I moved out of Kharkov, Ukraine when i was 9 in 1994. Your content gives me the best perspective possible on true life in my home country. Thank you
Finally a new idea for a Chernnobyl themed video! Since the TV series there has been an explosion of the generic videos - ferris wheel, duga, reactor, nursery, swimming pool.. and even though im fascinated by this and want to go there at some point, I got fed up with it! But visiting lonely soul - this is finally something else. Thanks and good luck!
Thank you for such a grand novice tour of this tragic area and how they are surviving and carrying on. Thank you so much for filling in so much that is never showed or experienced. I already adored what you had done but now you aregiving so much that I would have never seen. Seeing the roads and roadsides, village dwellers and their homes all these things I would never have a chance to see. THANK YOU MR BALD! God Bless you and Merry CHRISTmas!!!
Oh wow look at that old man,he can really drink vodka! He's ancient! It's incredible to think my whole life he's been living and than some. He's even got a cool orange jacket and bald head
Merry Christmas Benjamin Bald. You are a good man to bring your kindness to these poor old people in the world. You bring light wherever you go thank you. long may your light shine. or as we say here in Scotland ''long may yer lum reek' [[Your chimney smoke] Happy trails in 2020.
