We stopped at Two Sisters restaurant for lunch. The ride East to West was very nice with the sun finally out of our eyes for awhile. We saw two close calls. So easy to get distracted with views in every direction. We tried to go to the Many Glaciers area for pictures but was turned back. You guessed it, the lots were full and a two hour wait. Better luck next time.

What an absolutely gorgeous video. I'd say you couldn't have picked a better day. Thanks for the ride. Cheers. Dave

Your welcome. It was very nice but quite busy as expected. Thanks for watching.

Thank you so much for posting this. We saw it almost exactly 20 years before you made this video. It was interesting to see again. It was very much the same, except that there was more traffic, there seemed to be less glaciation in the hanging valleys, and there was obvious fire damage on the eastern end. We closed it with a boat ride on McDonald Lake, which was also magnificent. It was the day trip of a lifetime. Thank you so much for the memories.

Your welcome. Sounds like you had a great time. And yes traffic was overwhelming. It kept us from visiting a couple areas due to no parking. This was my first visit since the early 60s with my parents where the cabins had 4 army cots and a wood stove. What a difference. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.

Great video! Do you know what time this was filmed. I’m staying at the ST Mary East Glacier KOA so I’ll be coming the same you are at the start. It looks harder to pull over coming from the east. I guess I will have to get most of the photos on the way back.

We left West Glacier at 8:00 in the morning and ate lunch just outside St. Mary and headed back over the mountain at about 1:00. Yes, photo stops are crowded but hopefully you'll get plenty of chances. Good luck.

What place is this where you stopped by? Sooo excited. Heading in July! Beautiful video 👍

Not sure which place you mean. At the beginning we are at Two Sisters restaurant about 5 miles north of St. Mary on highway 89. Everything else is along Going to the Sun Road. Pretty much every turn off has amazing views. Allow plenty of time and hope it's not too busy lol. Thanks for watching.

That's where you pay a fee to enter the park. Don't recall being ask for ID or passport. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.

This is the road from the opening scene of The Shining; watching this video was a lot more peaceful without the scary music playing in the background

I'm thinking about an Ebike next time, use battery assist to go up hill and downhill is no problem with a dead battery.

Excellent idea. Might even get you into the crowded parking lots when there full which was what we ran into. Wanted to do the hike at Logan Pass visitor center, but the lot was full.

I recently found your channel and have been mesmerized ever since! Your videos are amazing! Would you mind offering what your camera and gimbal set up is? Just beautiful!

On this trip the GoPro 7 Hero Black. I don't use a gimbal. The camera has built in stabilization which works really well. Its attached to a GoPro magnetic mount outside the car or jeep with an external mic and a long usb c cable for constant power. A 128 gb micro sd card records 4hrs 4k video. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.

Don Miller Thank you for your quick reply! Such amazing videos from such a simple setup! Would you change your setup in anyway? BTW...I love your Jeep! I have a Wrangler as well and plan to do many of the roads you have recorded and posted. Meanwhile, you have given us many hours of entertainment! Thanks so much!

@@marksmith9317 I wouldn't change anything. Its simple, relatively inexpensive and easy to use. Turn it on and drive. Thanks again for the kind words.

Don Miller One last question....What frame rate do you shoot at 4K? Do you ever shoot at 1080P? What editing program do you use? Okay...sorry...that’s 3 questions. I am really drawn to your work and I have appreciated your sharing how you make these video presentations. Thanks so much!
@donm8011

@@marksmith9317 I record at 30 fps and I believe the GoPro hero 8 allows for 60 fps. Some of my offroad videos from 2014,15 were 1080 because I couldn't find an editing program to render 4k reliably. I started using Adobe Premiere Pro in 2016. It cost around $20.00 a month but the results look great on my 4k big screen although I'm sure there are other programs that would work now. You need a pretty powerful pc or mac to work with 4k files in a timely manner. Its definitely been a learning experience and fun as well and a good hobby since I retired. I hope you record your travels and post them. I love seeing others experiences.
