Only in this acoustic vesion you can really see how difficult this song is. It is at the beginning this low and afterwards the voice is so high. This is amazing!
actualy i see a lot of acoustic versions from her, and this video is FANTASTIC, but i saw other one realy AWESOME, she can sing better than himself hahahaha, she's amazing, theres nothing else i can say
A professional voice instructor one time gave me an analysis of her singing that explained why you may feel mesmerized by it - she has this technique of opening up her chest and singing through it and doesn't close notes off with her throat like regular singers. Easier said than done I guess. In concert she gets wheezy after a couple of songs and has to catch her breath. I always feel like if you wanted to imagine what a Siren sounded like from Greek mythology in real life she would be as close as you an get.
Actually, if you're belting like that you need to release as little air as possible. Otherwise you can damage your voice. Support is what you need to be taught. Every singing teacher I've ever visited except for my current one said nothing to me about breath support or taught me anything of any merrit.
Amber O'Reilly my teacher belt like crazy for hours and his voice get better and better every day... The same for the opera guys. He just drinks a lot of water and he warmup good
Viviana Reales:3 You are completely right that we need more singers like Amy. Sadly, you are also right that we will never have one. There is only ONE Amy. lol
+Chris Ritcheson Really sad. I know them many years and there wasn't any (female) singer who was better than her. But it's sad, that she didn't wanted to get famous alone. But it's pretty cool that she sticks together with the band.
Tamara Minton Actually, she has the best of both worlds right now. She does soundtrack work between tours, which was always something she wanted to try, probably because Danny Elfman was such a hero to her. (please tell me you've listened to Amy's version of "Sally's Song" from Nightmare Before Christmas) I think that having a band is a good thing for her. I can't wait to hear what the new album sounds like with the adddition of a german metal chick (Jen Majura) on lead guitar. Should be interesting.
Going Under" Now I will tell you what I've done for you Fifty thousand tears I've cried Screaming, deceiving and bleeding for you And you still won't hear me going under Don't want your hand this time - I'll save myself Maybe I'll wake up for once (wake up for once) Not tormented daily defeated by you Just when I thought I'd reached the bottom I'm dying again I'm going under (going under) Drowning in you (drowning in you) I'm falling forever (falling forever) I've got to break through I'm going under Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies (so I don't know what's real) So I don't know what's real and what's not (don't know what's real and what's not) Always confusing the thoughts in my head So I can't trust myself anymore I'm dying again I'm going under (going under) Drowning in you (drowning in you) I'm falling forever (falling forever) I've got to break through I'm... +Timothy Obrien you didn't heard about Therion? Aesma Daeva? dude ...u don't even know what is taste of music ...no offence everyone has own taste ...how can you say that is not even a music? She is the most powerful soprano in the world...and this is not even close to soprano ....sorry m8 no hard feelings ☺😀
Hasnt been the same since Ben left. Glad they kept going, but I have never been able to get into another one of their albums like I could with Fallen. Although he didnt sing the songs, he was a huge influence on the bands musical style and sound that made them so successful.
It is really easy to play. Whole verse is B5 (preferably played on 2th fret like basically upper 4 strings of usual Bm chord), in that small part where player mutes all strings while strumming, you can play G5, which sounds best if you use electric guitar and do volume swell - not necessary, but it sounds just like in full band record. Then pre-chorus is G-A-Em, then chorus is Bm-G-D-A, then bridge (which comes after second chorus and before guitar solo in studio record) G-F#-Bm and chorus again. The only tricky thing is keeping strumming rhytm on verses while singing, I can't do it yet and need someone to sing verses for me =(
Amy Lee and Tarja Turunen. My favorite singers of Gothic Rock. Hearing their voices and songs are still fresh through the years of adulthood. So admiring on Amy's voice. Amazing voice.
This band was probably the last great band with real and raw talent to hit the early 2000's... Now we are blessed with Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Lord help us all.
I've seen both live. Katy was actually pretty good. Taylor was probably the best singer I've heard live. She doesn't have as much as a range as Amy, but she can hold out notes longer. Besides, their styles are dry different and there is no need to compare them.

AMY LEE IDOLAAA totaaaal
no wonder why she was called Queen of Gothic Rock. Aside from her fashion style of romantic goth and alternative, her vocals are fire. A lot of belting. Mad respect. Unique.
