Im thinking along the same lines as you Nick with Haaland and I actually did the same transfers. Haaland out for Watkins and Neto out for Saka. Last week I was firmly in the keep Haaland camp but it dawned on me at the weekend how many great options there are now with this fixture swing. Whichever way I juggled the players, retaining Haaland meant having to omit more key players than Im comfortable with. Didnt want to remove the Spurs boys and don't want to be without Saka, Trippier, Watkins or Alvarez. What also came into my thinking was captaincy which is key. Up until GW16, I would anticipate that people will only captain Haaland maybe 1-2 times which greatly reduces the EO risk. Furthermore its just not optimal having a 14m player in your team who you arent captaining. Salah is the superior premium right now. Even GW11 when Haaland plays Bournemouth at home, currently drafthound have Salah as having higher expected points for GW11
@@triggertalksfpl6562 Tell me about it. I'm in the no haaland club too and I can see a haaland hattrick coming imminently. The key is not to panic when it does. We have a plan and it can only work if we stick to it.
I owned Watkins during the first five gameweeks before selling him. During this period I would honestly say he wasnt performing any worse than he is now, despite not scoring a single goal - its just a case of variance now going in his favour.
Balls to the wall let's go!! I think this is a pretty sound strategy at the moment. City just aren't the same killing machine that they've been for the past few seasons. I think the statistic was that by gw10 last season they had already scored 29 goals, this year only 19. More to the point they just aren't creating the same amount of chances we've come to expect. Even the Fulham game was a case of them turning 5 shots on target into 5 goals. It's not as if they are creating as many chances as they used to. With the likes of Villa and Newcastle so free flowing and attacking at the moment it's hard to argue Haaland offers £14m worth of value, especially when there are so many other great players available at a fraction of that. Strong strategy which can obviously blow up at any moment. Will probably follow suit
Diaby played very well last game. Could have had assists if others would have finished. Having Watkins is better however if you have the money…your gambit is fun.
I’ve got haaland, Watkins, saka, Salah and son and could get trippier but it would mean bringing in a 5 mil mid. I just feel like I’d rather bet against trippier than haaland personally.
If you still have Haaland maybe you can consider it, but personally think Alvarez is fantastic value. Son to Saka is a tricky one. Depends what price you paid for Son, might cost you a fair bit more to buy him back again. It could work out, but it looks a bit sideways
